Just layover from Toronto at YVR, came out to have a pineapple bun with butter and a hot milk tea. It’s definitely AWESOME:) servers are welcoming and friendly, thanks Lido

This is my second place coming here and I made sure to bring cash! The service is very mediocre, food orders taken and food slung onto the table, and no one will come back. No offering of water and not even enough napkins given. When time to pay, I paid my tip according to the type of change I was given. Cafe was busy and was hasty. The man who spoke no English looked at me angrily and pointed at the 18% suggested gratuity. I was shocked and ended up paying more tip. I hate being publicly shammed for not leaving enough tip. Wouldn’t go back even though I love their buns.

Pineapple Butter Bun, Egg Tarts and amazing "Cha Chan Ten" style decor makes this place extremely famous.

I never liked the parking in this mall, always just park at Parker Place, and then walk. This mall is always packed, it is so rare to actually find a spot to park. I would say, just walk!

When you arrive, after a small walk, it literally looks like you are back in Hong Kong again. The smell, the Chinese signs plastered all over the wall, the place is packed with those Chinese dining booths, and tables. At least it doesn't remind me of those small little street cart food areas though: P LOL

They always have tons of options for food, they have so many menus it is so crazy, I had trouble looking through all of the at the same time. But as usual, for all "Cha Chan Ten" they are filled with special lunch combos, with a special drink and a bowl of soup, etc.

I had the special Pineapple Butter Bun of course, with a small drink. I just wanted a snack anyways, while my friend orders French Toast. Yes, we are huge snackers. We arrived at a perfect time, so it wasn't as busy as it usually is, and we came right before a lunch rush! So we got to sit down when we arrived.

This place sells out of Egg Tarts instantly so you have to come at a specific time to order a dozen and bring home to share with the family or friends.

Dry-fried Beef Ribs, smashed into wet pieces, stir-fried until broken and then buried; Pork Ribs Claypot Rice, Beer Ribs and Water until the meat is loose; Milk Tea, if you ask for tea, it will automatically help you get the milk, see When I got the cup of tea, I asked for flowered milk and had to pay extra. The bitterness of the tea was not Hong Kong-style milk tea at all. I would not serve it again. There was also a service charge. For two people, it cost nearly $60 plus paper. It’s the first time I’ve watched the “so famous” tea story. I feel like I’ll regret it for the rest of my life.

TLDR: mainly come here for the amazing milk tea and delicious pineapple buns with butter

The pineapple buns are just the right amount of flaky on top and soft underneath. The butter inside is perfectly soft and melts just right with the bun. The milk tea flavor is strong but still silky smooth, would definitely come back just for those two items.

I don't think I've ever eaten a pineapple bun as good as the ones that come from the kitchen here. The other foods are a bit expensive for what you get (and let's be honest the pineapple bun is also a little costly) but the perfect warmth, the almost-too-much (but you'll still eat the whole thing) slab of butter just starting to melt paired with a steaming cup of tea is just phenomenal on a cold autumn morning. Get in, eat your buns, get out. And while I say that the other food feels expensive, it's still quite delicious. But the pineapple bun is just second to none.

Food is OK. Prices exuberant. Pineapple buns that they are famous for are way overpriced. Overall the place is way overrated but people from all over are attracted to it. They did some good PR work. Possibly via bots?

The food can only be said to be average. A satay beef rice noodle breakfast set, plus a Polo bun, a cup of milk tea, including tax + 15% tip, the total payment was CAD 29.7! That's not a high-end restaurant, it's a very ordinary Hong Kong-style tea restaurant. Is such high consumption only in Vancouver?

Classic Hong Kong style cafe. Pineapple bun is a must. I wish they have some of the menu items on the menu instead of just posting it on the wall.

We always love their pineapples buns and usually buy 6 home. But today the buns were a bit disappointing. Not sure why, but they were pretty deflated, and dried.

Mine was the beef lo mein, wasn't bad, but definitely had better. The soup that came on the side was good though

I drove another hour to eat pineapple buns It seems to be a fatal temptation. Although the service has been poor, it can’t stop the seduction of the food. Now the service is a little better No matter how bad the service is, I still have to come here to eat. There is no way, I can’t find a substitute

The food is delicious The service feels very basic. I ordered an extra 2 yuan for a cup of frozen mandarin duck, but it still tastes hot

Authentic Hong Kong diner complete with Eastern and Western style items. It was busy and packed when we came—luckily did not have to wait long. Pineapple butter buns were warmed up, spongy and the generous slice of butter still had give. Delicious, smooth HK style milk tea. Loved the atmosphere including the old school cooks and hustling, friendly wait staff. Cash only.
