I had a great experience with Dr. Mario, who did cosmetic dental work on 4 of my teeth. Even after having braces as a child (with a different dental office), I've never been satisfied with my smile. I came to Lighthouse Dental to learn about my options.
I met with Dr. Pillai first, who was very nice and welcoming, and he referred me to Dr. Mario. Dr. Mario was not only reassuring about my situation, he offered me a non-invasive option that was more cost-effective for myself and was overall better for what I was going for. He was very understanding and the procedure was relatively quick and painless! I'm beyond happy with the result, I feel so comfortable smiling now. The result is so natural which is exactly what I was going for!

What can I write that’s already not been said in the many excellent reviews already! Dr Pillai is an excellent specialist who truly cares for his patients. He’s friendly, extremely knowledgeable and provides the best dental care in Vancouver. The clinic is beautiful, centrally located and has all the latest equipment. The staff, led by Dr Poornima Pillai are exceptionally pleasant, and genuinely helpful. I went with two screaming infants and they were patient with them and even played with them for a few minutes to calm them down.

I can’t recommend them enough and I’m so glad that I found my dentist for as long as I stay in Vancouver!

I visited Dr Pillai today for my oral examination. The clinic is located in a convenient location accessible both by public transit and car. The front office staff were helpful and wait time was very less. Dr. Pillai is a great Dental practitioner who gave me so many useful advices for my oral hygiene. The treatment was a pleasant experience and they have all the latest medical equipments to help you. He is friendly, both him and his assistants were caring throughout the whole process. I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Dr. Pillai and the team at Lighthouse. I had a traumatic accident which landed me with a visible injury on my front teeth. The team at lighthouse and Dr. Pillai made me feel so comfortable and at ease during this hard process. He was able to fix my front tooth with a crown and even polished and cleaned the rest of my teeth with no cost. The entire experience was amazing and I ended up leaving with tears of gratitude and happiness instead of tears of upset and frustration, which was my experience with EVERY other dental institute I had visited in this process. Dr Pillai and the team at Lighthouse Dental are kind, caring and professional. Dr Pillai recently removed an impacted wisdom tooth which has been causing long term overcrowding and other issues to my teeth. I was hesitant to remove this tooth due to significant issues that arose some 15 years ago during to the removal of my opposite side upper and lower wisdom teeth. This resulted in me not proceeding with the removal of the remaining wisdom teeth following that procedure! Again, thank you Dr Pillai for a completely different dental experience - gentle, quick and easy with no trauma. Lighthouse Dental is now our family dentistry.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Chen’s since 2005 and even now that I live on the island - I come back to Vancouver because I can’t imagine seeing another dentist.
I used to have serious dentist phobia, and now actually look forward to my appointments. Her team is really lovely, my needs are always heard and she always presents me with options to suit my situation and comfort level.
I’ve referred more friends to her than anyone else ever. She is the absolute best!

Overall a very good experience. There was a machine they used to create a virtual 3D model of my teeth a d looked at in detail which was also very impressive.

(Patient since pre-COVID) The practice has always been well set up for nervous patients, and all staff pander happily to my dentist jitters. Now, there's a lot more hand sanitizer, and more PPE (a LOT more PPE), but everyone is still as welcoming as ever, an no one acts like it's a hassle.

Dr. Chen has been my dentist for the past 11 years. With the recent COVID19 pandemic, I was eager to return for my regular visits. I encourage everyone to start scheduling your appointments as I sincerely felt safe: one person enters at a time, hand hygiene is enforced for the patients as well, each patient is screened and the temperature is checked upon arrival, staff is wearing appropriate PPEs to ensure everyone's safety, rooms are being sanitized and ample time is allowed before being used again for the next patient.

Dr Chen has made so many changes to ensure our safety as patients, but also for her staff as well.
She worked to make sure I could get in as quick as possible, made sure that our temperature was ok and sanitized our hands.
Quickly set us up, did what was needed painlessly and off we went.

Dr. Chen is great! Her offices are very clean and the covid protocols are sensible and easy to follow. My family are longtime patients of Dr. Chen and I recommend her
