Ling Yen Mountain Temple Canada

This is a great place for meditation. Very majestic! People are also very kind. They have a vegetarian meal on Sunday to promote vegetarianism.

Beautiful, serene and sacred. I always always enjoy visiting this temple with my husband, daughter and other family members.

Peaceful, small and compact Buddha Temple. They also offer meditation class in English as well. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

The current building area is not very large, and there is a place that is being expanded next to it. Many local people will come here to invite incense.

This temple is absolutely phenomenal! They have a few pagodas outside the temples to offer incenses to Guan Yin Bodhisattva/ Buddha. When you enter the temple, shoes are replaced with slippers and a specific pathway is taken as another path is for the monks/Abbot. There's a sense of spiritual peace when you enter the grand hall where a giant Buddha statue resides. Unfortunately I was not allowed to take pictures, but I respect their decision.

Overall, they are expanding their temple in the next fews years. Definitely take the time to visit this beautiful temple in Richmond!

Lingyen Mountain Temple (Canada) is a traditional Buddhist temple that offers many different services to the community throughout the year.

Although I am not a Buddhist, I joined the Chinese New Year Ringing the Bell Blessing Service in January. I arrived at 11 pm, and many people crowded the temple. However, the staff there is amiable and patient, explaining its custom and how to go through all the procedures. Many items (including books, vegan receipts, CDs, and even water) are freely distributed (of course, you are welcome to donate to the construction of the 3rd phase of the temple). And there is a souvenir mug, which is free to collect after completing all the procedures. However, due to a customs issue, the cup will be available in March. Our family is fascinated to experience all these services and learn much about Buddhism that evening.

We did receive the mug last week, and it is well made. After we took the cup, we had the opportunity to explore the temple even more. The environment is quiet and harmonious. We notice a restaurant offering vegan food too, which is excellent news for vegetarians. Lastly, the staff there are amiable and willing to answer many questions about the temple (even basic questions about Buddhism).

A great peaceful place should go, open to all which means it doesn’t matter what you believe (like you believe yourself, believe god, believe nothing), you all can find a peaceful spot to spend your day.

Great temple. Been going there for they opened the temple. Back then there wasn’t many nuns or volunteers that spoke English, so I was the tour guide for any English speakers at the tender age of 11. Extremely peaceful (when it’s not a major Buddhist holiday) Living there during Buddhist retreats was also so peaceful. Waking up in the mornings at the wee hours to pray, suns not even up yet, everything so quite, was just so great. By the way, the food on Sundays = amazing! They put in extra effort on the weekends during lunch to make it extra tasty to encourage new comers to try vegetarianism. Totally works. All in all, great place to visit. Beautiful grounds, friendly nuns. Just don’t slide down the stair banisters like I did. Especially when all the nuns are coming up the stairs… huge trouble.haha (to be fair I was 11)

Best time to go check out the temple:
Between 9: 30-3: 00pm Weekends. More lively and more people to show you around.

It is a very good Buddhist holy place. Due to the epidemic, some places are still not accessible for worship, which is a small pity!

Today I can finally take the time to worship Guanyin Bodhisattva and various gods. Because of the previous epidemic, I was not able to enter the temple. Finally waited until the temple opened. Happy (⁠⁠•⁠ᴗ⁠•⁠⁠) ⁠⁠*⁠.

Nice, calm and tranquil place. Lit up with beautiful lanterns, it's the perfect place to spend doing fun activities like getting your fortune, making wishes and sipping lavender tea on lunar new year's eve. End the night with a prayer service led by the honorable abbott and the ringing of the bell. English translation this year was a bonus.

The temple is nice and peaceful. Volunteers and monks are friendly and kind.

We celebrated our Chinese new year here and left with a happy heart.

Come to worship on the first day of the Lunar New Year. There are many people in the temple and the incense is booming.

I really like it, even though it is far away from my home, I always want to pay homage to Guanyin when I have time. Lingyan Mountain, very effective!
