The care and support we received from the LG Maternity Clinic, and the LG Labour and Delivery Team, was absolutely wonderful. All of the doctors were professional, caring and warm. During my pregnancy check ups I never felt rushed. They took the time to answer all of my questions, address any concerns, and made me feel like they really cared about me. Even though my delivery didn't go completely as I had hoped (induction, c-section, etc.), because of the wonderful doctors and nurses I still felt safe and calm. My baby boy was born safely and I felt supported during the whole process. The nurses who cared for me after the delivery (I spent 4 days in hospital) were also incredible. They were warm, kind, and never judgmental. They are truly amazing at their jobs. If I have another baby I would definitely want my care to be in the hands of the LG Mat Clinic team again - they are a wonderful group of female physicians and I trust them to give the very best care.

I had my first child end of Aug 2022. Overall I am extremely happy with my experience at Lionsgate.
The nursing staff were kind, supportive, knowledgable and always willing to help out. The ward was quite busy and yet I never once felt rushed. In particular they were very helpful with breast feeding. I felt encouraged and supported with every feed.
My anesthesiologist Jamie was awesome he quickly put in my epidural and during the c section calmly explained what was happening at each step. I found this very helpful.
Bonus of Lionsgate both my midwife (Jocelyn at Canopy Midwifery) and doula (Fiona) were allowed in the opperating room with me which I loved. My midwife sat with me when hubby went off and the doula took a million photos that I treasure.
My OBGYN Dr Sadeghi was clear helpful and went well beyond what was expected for a c section. She checked my endometriosis wasnt causing any issues whilst she had me open. This meant the world to me.
If we are lucky enough to one day have another child we will be back:)

My first baby experience at LGMC was great! My baby did not want to come out til 41w3d. So I was supposed to get an induction but my contraction started 2 days before the induction day. However, the progress was really slow and baby started to have hard time at 7cm dilated, so I had emergency c-section. I was super scared and exhausted. But everyone was so professional and they took really good care of me. I still remember the doctor (maybe anesthesiologist John) who constantly checked if I am okay during the c section. He was really warm and I was so relieved that he was around me and make me feel calm. And surgeon Ravn was great. When I saw her first time, I immediately trusted her 100%. The way she explained about the surgery and how she ensured me that I will be okay were trustful. And my baby was born and we both were healthy. And I love the look of incision. It is not ugly and I have no complication so far. It is healing well (it has been 11 days today). And regarding the hospital stay, I was hospitalized for 3days, and I could feel that nurses are so sincere and genuinely love to take care of mom and baby. I remember every nurses who helped me during the stay. They changed my pad and emptied my urine regularly. And they taught me how to breastfeed my baby and oftenly check if I was doing okay. I really would like to give my second birth here at LGMC️?

I had my baby at Lions Gate in April 2019. Although some of the staff were amazing, some others really let me down. During my 4 hours of pushing to get my baby out, the main midwife there with me kept damanding I hold my breath. She made me feel small because she would catch me every time I let out a breath while pushing and demand I hold it. After, once realizing I had suffered a small prolapse and had to go to a pelvic floor Physio, the physiotherapist told me that being told to hold my breath during every push had directly impacted what I was suffering for months afterwards. It took me a year to fully recover.
Also, I was in so much pain after the birth that I had to spend 3days in hospital, it wasn’t until the last day that they bothered to check me to see why I was in so much pain. I wasn’t given aftercare advice, and when I was prescribed medication from my OB, the night nurses argued that I didn’t need to take them. Fancy them going against my OB’s prescription & advice! Lastly when I finally left the room and could barely walk, I asked for a wheelchair to head out of the hospital and I was given a dirty look by the receptionist, followed by “well most women walk out of here”.

This is why I am having my next baby at Langley Maternity!

Had a great experience with Lions Gate Hospital. Throughout the pregnancy, Maternity Clinic staff were very attentive and helpful. I suffered with prenatal anxiety and they went out of their way to make me feel more comfortable and gave me help finding the extra resources I needed.
For the actual birth I ended up having an emergency c section and although it wasn't planned, all of the staff who cared for us there made the experience so much easier. I especially want to mention one of our nurses - Selena who made us feel so comfortable and confident with our baby. We were lucky enough to have her on shift twice during our three night stay and we missed her when she wasn't there!
Thank you for the great care!

Not a good clinic, the Drs are not thorough enough, and things slip through their fingers. It's only your own Dr or a specialist who may catch what they missed.

Nursing staff we're very attentive and knowledgable, and all very personable. We were there during the COVID-19 pandemic and they always wore protection. The hospital had staff at entrances ensuring everyone was hand sanitized on the way in so we very safe and well looked after. Eli and Simone were our main nurses but all doctors, nurses, and support staff took the time to give us excellent care.

We (two dads) just had our son through our surrogate at Lionsgate hospital. We had an amazing experience, everyone went out of their way to make us feel welcome and took special care to respect our relationship with our surrogate.

We always felt well cared for, but never pressured or disrupted. The staff were all super friendly, and very professional. The building is on the older side, but the facilities are great, very clean and we basically did not have to bring anything for our baby, the hospital supplied most of it.

Thank you for the super team who helped us!
