My first experience with movers, and Lions Gate Movers made it miserable. They confirmed practically all possible negative stories, that movers do. There was one price given at the initial call, and after the deposit was sent, just several days prior to the move, they confirmed another, higher price, 1 hr travel time instead of 30 min initially and fuel surcharge, that never was mentioned on the first call. After some back and forth, we returned to the initial promise. At the end, they still rip us off. On the day of the move, they were driving around our building, trying to find a loading zone for 30 min, and charged us for this time. The location drop in was sent the night prior to them, this was their mistake. They were quick at the location to load stuff, but they have slowed down intentionally at loading off the location. When I confronted them, they said that we need to pay right now, and they will keep the rest of the boxes hostage, and if I do not be quick, he will add an additional 15 min to the bill. The total work time with driving was 2,5 hours, they ripped us off for 4 hr and 15 min. They are just bad, typical movers, the same scammers as the whole industry.

By far the best moving experience.
They first visited our place a few weeks ahead of the moving date and provided an estimate.
On the moving day, they were on-time, wrapped up all the furniture in blankets, moved them carefully and at the destination, installed them back together.
I'm super happy with their service and strongly recommend them.

From the first communication with Scott through the entire move, the experience with Lion’s Gate Moving was positive. I was looking for someone to move my Mom from a large two bedroom condo in Victoria to a smaller two bedroom apartment in Steveston. Scott responded immediately to my inquiry and provided me a quote that was very reasonable.
On the day of the move, the three man team lead by Steven was there exactly when they said they would be there. After some initial review of the contents and identifying the items that required additional care, the team went to work. My Mom has a lot of stuff and the guys were so careful and packed things so well that we had ZERO breakage. There was also no damage to anything in the condo and no damage when they moved the contents into the apartment in Steveston.
For the move in, the team grew to five people and they moved everything in within a few hours. The team was respectful, professional, polite and patient. I would highly recommend Lion’s Gate moving for any moving job you might have.

Scott and his team were amazing! My husband and I had a large, rather complicated move. We were moving two homes; one from Mission and the other from North Vancouver; and he arranged the entire move with perfection. His lead mover (I can't remember his name) took the van out to Mission and loaded up the smaller portion, and then came to our townhome in North Vancouver and loaded up. Everything fit perfectly, other than our outdoor plants. My husband and I had to stay in a hotel that night as our furniture was already packed up, so the owner of the company showed up the next morning at 6: 00 am to pick up our outdoor plants and a few other things (at no cost to us). My husband and I left our hotel the next morning and when we arrived in Vernon at our new residence, they were already there waiting or us. Nothing broken; nothing lost; everything in great condition! And they went above and beyond to help us arrange, put together beds etc. All after a very long, exhausting few days. Great team! Great owner!

We had a great experience with Lions Gate Moving. They have moved us twice now (November 2020 and January 2022) and they were efficient and very careful with our belongings. They were excellent with communication and logistics. We would use them again.

We had a good experience with Lions Gate Moving and found them friendly and highly efficient. They had us moved out of our place at lightning speed and fit an incredible amount into the 26’ truck. Their price was competitive and we were happy with a job well done.

I can not recommend this company. They were not very organized or professional. It seamed as though half the guys were working their first day on the job. They charged me almost 50% more than the initial estimate. Their day started at 9: 30 am. After taking a lunch break they quit work by 3pm. This left me having to pay for a second day of moving which was only two hours. After they left, I discovered my brand new power washer and my furniture dolley were missing. There was some damage too. They left black streaks on the carpet which they said they would come back and clean, they didn't. They also broke my wooden bed frame and dropped my T. V. The owner was completely unsympathetic to the damage they caused. He bullied me in to paying the bill because he told me he couldn't afford to pay his employees if I didn't pay. I held back a small amount for the carpet but I never heard from them again.

I hired Lions Gate moving in a bit of a pinch to help my elderly father (86) move from independent living (apartment) to an assisted seniors living accommodation.

Two men showed up in a U-Haul and identified themselves as "the movers", with no real introductions. They accessed my fathers suite twice without donning face masks, when we eventually had to prompt them to wear face masks, they mumbled and slowly fished them out of the truck, which me and my partner found surprising, being in the middle of a pandemic and all, bypassing the numerous signs at the front door of the apartment building, not to mention entering an ELDERLY man's home. They were able to pack everything up at a good pace, but left without communicating that they were leaving to the new place, about an hour later, they texted me to ask what the address was.

In conclusion; I can't get over the fact that these two men, representing a company, were willing to do business in the middle of the pandemic without wearing face-masks, putting both me, my partner, and most of all, my immune-compromised father at such a risk was mind-blowing and utterly unacceptable. They were civil, not polite, did not communicate effectively, and did not appear to want to be doing the job at all.

The only positive interaction about this experience was that the job was eventually completed, and booking it online at somewhat short-notice. However, the information given during booking (the address), was obviously not communicated effectively to the crew doing the job.

Sorry guys. But I draw the line when you put my family at risk.

I met guys from "Lions Gate Moving" when I was moving by myself. They were hired by some other person moving to the same building. I was unloading my U-Haul trailer when suddenly I sprained my ankle. Imagine huge pain and not having possibility to walk anymore. Folks from "Lions Gate Moving" offered me automatically help with moving my things to my apartment as well. Everything FREE OF CHARGE. Bob and the rest of your team thank you. Thank you so much! It's just me an my girlfriend. We could do s*** without your help stuck on the street with all that loaded on the trailer swag. No #1 moving company for me!
