What kind of salt and pepper shrimps are the same as those eaten by dogs?
To be honest, except for the grilled oysters, which are more delicious, the rest are terrible.
The waiter took too long to pay the bill. The waitress had a bad attitude. The man was fine.

The waitress is ridiculous. We are only four girls, and told her we do not eat much. She insisted that one fish is not enough, forced us to order two fish after we ordered fried rice and other bbq skewers. Finally we did not even touch the second fish because we were too full. We spent CAD 250 for this one. The fish was too salty. I do not remember how many cups of water I drank.

The food is mediocre, the main dish is just spicy and sour fish from mainland China and the waiter forces the customer to order it

The taste is very authentic. I highly recommend the scallops and grilled fish. The grilled fish is really fragrant and paired with a bowl of rice! Fragrant!

Bad experience! We ordered the grilled fish, confirming the size of the fish at the time of ordering, as well as the side dish that came with it. The waiter confirmed that the fish was 4 pounds for two and the flavor I chose itself had peanuts and cilantro on top. As other reviews have noted, servers will keep recommending extra dishes and saying it's not enough, but the truth is why isn't it enough if the grilled fish is already serving two (4 pounds? There is doubt!) ?

Secondly, we chose spicy garlic sauce, and the waiter said that it had peanuts and cilantro on it. If you have eaten grilled fish from other restaurants, you would be mistaken as I am, but actually spicy garlic sauce is covered with sauce like soup. The sauce without any spicy or garlic, and no peanuts or cilantro. In addition, we added a wide vermicelli is actually not wide, but thin vermicelli!

When we questioned the waiter about the above problems, the waiter could only say that she had explained it wrong when ordering the food. The spicy garlic sauce is like this, and the vermicelli called "wide vermicelli" should be thin.

Finally, the pan will burn and and the fish will stick to the bottom of the pan.

In short, very poor experience, will not come again, please consider carefully!

Good food. Would definitely recommend try it out. Wait time during peak hour can be very long. Be prepared. The fish we ordered took around 40minutes. However, as the two star rating suggests, the service experience was honestly terrible. We sat for a good ten minutes before I had to ask for some water and get the order started. Throughout the dinning I had to ask for water etc a couple times. They saw my empty glass but no one bothered to offer to add any. Sry for ranting but wasn’t happy about the service at all. But still would recommend the food! Haha

Very good food just too pricy. The cod tasted a little rubbery and grilled oyster is a must get!

If you’re looking for flavour, this is the place to go! Everything we ordered was packed with spices and had the perfect amount of heat. My only complaint is that the meat portions on the skewers were very small compared to other restaurants like Happy Tree House. Otherwise, everything else was good. Service was ok, nothing outstanding but nothing bad either. I will be back to try their signature grilled fish!

Tried to dine in here on a Tuesday. It was supposed to open from 5 PM and we arrived around 6. No one is in the restaurant and clearly it’s closed while the sign says otherwise. Very disappointed.

We came here for late night skewers and they were pretty good. Portions were a bit small. Surprisingly, the interior looks very modern, compared to the outside.

A long-established barbecue restaurant in Burnaby! Authentic northern charcoal grilled skewers, Sichuan-style grilled fish, tastes as good as a day for 10 years!

Went here to eat with the family. Enjoyed all the food we ordered. One recommendation I would give is give out a piece of paper to check if you want to order more instead of calling someone each time. Also to have the waiters pay attention if you need more drinks. Must order Thin sliced pork belly with garlic sauce.

Come here mainly for the BBQ, my fav would be the beef tendon, lamb and beef short rib.would I go back //, /? 1000%

Great place for spicy fish! You can choose what to add to the dish, like black fungus, quail eggs etc etc. Choice of 4 or 5 fish such as Rockfish, Catfish, Cod (I think), and a few others.

We have been frequent customers here for the past few years and we just love the taste of the grill fish although they are indeed quite a bit expensive. Recently they upgraded the interior and now it's even better to dine here. Pretty surprised to see the average rating to be only 3.5. Guess it's more of personal bias?

Food is pretty good. I came one time late at night, they weren’t closing for another half an hour and one of their servers started to mop the floor, I am fine that you want to clean up the restaurant earlier to leave a little earlier but the whole place smelled like bleach (maybe do the sanitizing after your customers leave?) I was just unhappy I couldn’t finish my meal that I had to pay for.

Li's China is a pretty good Chinese restaurant for spicy fish. I agree with other reviews about the small portions of their skewers. It is a bit pricy for what you get, but if you got a hankering for this sort of cuisine, I'd say go for it. Bring cash because you can get a free Coke if you pay by cash.

Love their skewers, food is better than happy tree house bbq and more affordable, there 0.99 skewers are a hit

One of the best northern Chinese barbeque in town. Limited seating, reservation recommended. Lots of options to choose from but not a crazy amount where you have trouble choosing what the order. Good for full dinner or some snacks in between. Staff friendly and attentive for the most part. Not the best for parking tho. Good that it's not toooo far from Joyce sky train station. Their skewers are juice and flavourful. Not always the case for establishment that serves similar dishes. Might get loud during busy times so not a place you would want to have a quiet meal. But definitely a must try if you are in the neighborhood. Another signature dish they serve is Chinese grill fish. Not the grill fish you typically see in a western bistro as it is grilled first them simmered in a sauce/soup. But would definitely recommend if you are up for some seafood. This place has been around long enough in a pretty competitive area to show the quality of their food.

What a bad experience, the service is extremely bad but still ask for tips. Nvr go again n never will recommend to anyone.

Their seasonal and fresh grilled seafood is always so consistently gooooood. I really don’t want to share this place Cus I don’t want more people to fight for reservations with me.

This restaurant gets busy come dinner time. The BBQ skewers are tasty but considerably small portion and keep in mind there is minimum order quantity on the skewers (5). The toppings for the popular fish dish were disappointing in taste and portion. The fish itself was delicious, depending on which fish you pick I guess. This is definitely not a cheap eat.
