Good service, beer selection, and delicious flavors overall. The nachos and salsa they serve as an appie before the main courses are amazing. I wouldnt have paid $25 for the enchiladas had I known they were basically 3 small tacos in a large plate with salsa and cheese strewn on top. I'll stick with the tacos next time!

I had a disappointing experience with the service at this establishment. From the moment I entered, the atmosphere was cold and unwelcoming. The servers appeared unhappy, almost as if they disliked their jobs. Our server rarely checked on us, and when we tried to get the attention of any of the servers, two of them pretended not to see us. Even when our server did acknowledge us, his attitude seemed annoyed, as he asked, "What? What do you want? " It was disheartening that none of the servers ever smiled.

As for the food, it was alright. It leaned more towards authentic Mexican cuisine rather than the typical Americanized Mexican food that most of us are accustomed to.

Given my experience, I don't think I would ever return to this place.

Food was really authentic and delicious. The atmosphere was great and I will definitely go again. My only complaint was service - I don't think they had enough servers and some food took a very very long time to come. My food was delivered 20 mins before others at my table of 4. It may have been a "off night" for the Cantina, so I will likely go again and give it a 2nd chance.

I've been here about 2-3 times over the past 3 years, and can say without a doubt that the service here is horrible.

When I came in yesterday to order, the waiter (who I assume is the manager) had a horrible attitude. He dropped off my water (didn't even pour it for me), rudely accepted my order and never once checked up if I liked the dish. Instead, I would see him standing by the podium talking and playing games on his phone the entire time.

When it was time to pay, I asked for the bill and the "manager" didn't even get off his phone to do his job, instead he ordered a different waiter to take my bill for me. Due to such bad service I gladly pressed "no tip" and left with no intention of coming back. Keep in mind I ALWAYS tip for good service.

The food is acceptable, but the service is unbelievably sub-par. Would not be coming back and recommend different restaurants in the Lower Mainland if your are seeking good Mexican dishes.

High prices for the tiny portions. I ordered the enchiladas and they were two small enchiladas that didn’t come with any rice or beans.
Everything was tasty though.

If I can rate as minus 10 I would.
I really don't know why the high kind of rates. Fajitas: sauce with rotten tomatoes no taste at all, if the tomatoes are rotten imagine the meat how long has been frozen, I ended with upset stomach. A nice clean ambiance, service great though. They need the chef Gordon Ramsay urgently.
Sorry little Mexico Cantina, but I won't be back or bring friends over.

Sucha a lovely and full of life atmosphere! Staff is asking for food and drinks preferences. Food is absolutely delicious! Manager Scotty is very helpful to navigate through varieties of food and drinks. Definitely one of the best restaurants in Richmond!

Great little restaurant! Staff were really friendly, manager was great to talk with and the food was good. Chips and fresh salsa was amazing! Definitely a great place for some Mexican food!

Service no that good, waitress wasn’t very friendly. But the food was good. Try the gobernador tostadas or the al pastor taco, yummy. Congratulations to the chef, real Mexican taste!

After 9 hours on a plane what a great place to find. Very friendly and helpful staff, food was very tasty and a good size portion to share, nice local ipa to was it down. Definitely recommend

I wanted to try Little Mexico Cantina for a long while and I am so glad I did. The staffs did an amazing job, there are so much delicious food to choose from and also they have quite the lists of alcohol that will make your visit even that much better. We had such a great time there and the manager did a phenomenal job, he made our first visit memorable. I highly recommend Little Mexico Cantina when you're in the Steveston area. It's a walking distance to Gary Point Park. We will be back for more.

Absolute worst service. If you want to feel like your visit is an inconvenience to the owner/server, then come here. Food is quite expensive. $18 for three tacos.

We’ve been looking a good Mexican restaurant for a while now. When we heard about Little Mexico Cantina, we decided to give it a try. It did not disappoint.

We ordered the Nachos to start. They make the chips in-house so they were really fresh and crispy. They were topped with a perfect blend of beans, cheese, pico de gallo, sour cream, pickled jalapenos, guacamole, and black olives. It was absolutely delicious!

For the main dish, I ordered the tacos and my husband got the burrito bowl. You can order one taco for $7 or 3 tacos for $18. I ordered the carne, birria and fish tacos.

The carne taco was my favourite out of the three. The meat was juicy, tender and cooked just right. The fish taco also had a nice little crunch to it.

The burrito bowl was huge. It’s definitely to share. You pick the meat you want mixed in your bowl.

The restaurant was comfortable and nicely decorated. I especially liked the Mexican skull and skeleton art hanging on the walls. It gave the place a really cool Mexican vibe. We can’t wait to come back and try the other dishes!

Little Mexico Cantina is located at 150 - 3131 Chatnam Street Richmond BC. They’re open 7 days a week from 12: 00pm to 9: 30pm. There’s ample parking on the side and you can also park along the street.

I wanted to give this place a one star but service was better than the food. My daughter wanted Mexican food for her grad lunch so, we tried this place. All I can say is this is by far the worst Mexican food I have ever eaten. No flavor whatsoever and I mean NONE!

Came here thinking it was gunna have some good fish tacos since it’s by the fisherman’s wharf and I was sadly disappointed. If the food was cheaper than I could deal with the disappointment but it’s over priced in an area where I believe rent is expensive as well. You’re basically paying for their rent it seems with these prices. $13.50 for a 10oz Mojito which is mostly ice and $5+ for one fish taco.
The baby chair they provided was not cleaned from the last use and was covered in food spills and they didn’t give us anything to clean it with. We used our wet naps that we had for our baby.
We ordered the chicken quesadilla, 3x fish tacos, chicken strips with fries and 2x Mojito Diablos. Not worth $94 including tip.

Price: Over priced food and drinks for what you’re getting. Small portions and mostly overcooked food.

Portion/palate: Quesadillas were decent portions but the fish tacos were small. The tacos also had 2 taco wraps to make you think it’s more hardy but it’s just more carbs and less fish. The chicken strips were tiny chunks and half the fries were over cooked (browned).

Place: Looks nice and clean, but I have a suggestion for their patio. Try not to have your cutlery, plates and glasses outside where they can get dirty just sitting out there waiting for a guest.

People: People seemed like they didn’t want to be there. The lady though did seem genuinely nice.

One star for the nice lady and one star because I don’t have a choice.

We had the pleasure of having this restaurant cater our volleyball team at the hotel! The food was spectacular and very authentic! The parents loved everything and the kids went back for seconds! The manager was top notch and help us easily decide what to order. The prices were very reasonable and the kids were fed a healthy meal before the next day! We had a few margaritas at the bar when we came to pick up the food and they were so good we came back for another drink the next day! Best margaritas I have ever had!

I had gobernador tostadas and they were quite grease. Can't speak to the rest of the menu. The service was good and friendly.

It was our first time. We ordered takeout for a lunch on the West Dyke Trail. The service was good, and so was the food. The total was $55, though, which didn't strike me as an inexpensive takeout lunch for two. Anyway, no regrets. We enjoyed it.

I used the online service to place my order and selected a pickup time that suited me best. Even though the Cantina was bustling, I was in and out within a minute and was enjoying a still-hot meal 10 minutes later.

Waste of time and money. We went here after a great walk in Steveston in a chipper mood, which was ruined by this "establishment. " We got in there and had no issues with the staff (although they were nothing stellar) or vibes so this place is not 1-star. We ordered 5 taco's, all different kinds so we could fully experience the menu. They were loaded with meat and nothing else and were very small. They either had no flavour or were too salty. After our tastebuds were underwhelmed, for 5 tacos we had to pay $40, which was shocking. I would rather drive to TacoFino in Yaletown over the convenience of this place. The worst of all is we felt sick to our stomachs for over 24 hours, now you might say "Eric, its Mexican food, whaddya expect? " NO! Over 24 hours of pain on the porcelain is unheard of for us.

Do not go here.
