The food and service is good but there could be some improvements with flys and cup cleaning as my cup wasn’t properly cleaned

What a wonderful restaurant! We've been to Locus for many many years now and it is consistently good, if not great. The food is excellent and with an element of novelty that gives it a sense of something special. The service is genuinely friendly and you always feel welcomed. We recommend this little restaurant most highly.

My favourite neighbourhood restaurant.the scallops are amazing.that chef knows how to cook! I am constantly amazed at the consistently excellently prepared food! Staff is friendly, helpful and considerate.

Ordered the Brunch Protein. Food was amazing but portions were extremely small for the price.

Interesting choice of ingredients and unconventional dishes. Good for a quiet dinner night. The cocktails are the star of the place, IMO. Tercio makes the best old fashioned I’ve had in Vancouver. Super friendly guy and makes up for the gloominess of the place. 100% recommend.

Surprisingly (stopped by as an accident) nice spot with very tasty food and excellent service.

Classic feel, and great relaxed service with a good chat and real convo. Then my food turned up.wow.loved every bite. Tasty fresh and just the right amount. Can't wait to go back and try dinner

Amazing Happy hour food. Squid 2 ways, bruschetta, wings, miso poutine fries, baked Brie- they add their own twists to regular recipes. You can taste the quality and unique style of the chef.

Breakfast skillets are terrific as well as the steak and eggs. Always have a great time going here. Great relaxing atmosphere too with interesting setting.

Two friends and I ended up at Locus on the Wednesday before Christmas this year (2022) after arriving at BierCraft on Cambie & 17th for Happy Hour, only to find it closed (and later to learn it is closed permanently.what a loss!). But what a find is Locus. We shared a few and one of us ate what was reported to be an excellent burger. All in all, a fine landing and a place worth (re) visiting. RIP BierCraft though. Locus might become our new home away from home.

Wonderful food, supports local businesses, and has a charming atmosphere. You can tell that there's been a lot of love and effort put into this place to create this consistently positive experience.

This place was so good. It was literally fine dining at pub prices. I would be a regular if I could and will definitely visit next time I'm in the west coast. Would recommend it to anyone. Friendly staff, great food what else do you want?

Grabbed a few beers and a Miso Poutine with my partner recently, and we enjoyed our stay there. The flavours are more classic, and the menu sports a few crowd pleasers like Cobb Salad, Brisket Burger, and Nachos. Our Miso Poutine arrived piping hot with generous amount of melted cheese curds on top of a mound of hot gravy and fries.

Service is always warm, professional, and attentive. It's dimly lit and comfortable inside. Best to go to unwind with friends or with your partner for a more intimate setting. We love to catch their Happy Hour menu, which runs from 3-6pm & 10pm onwards. Vegan and Vegetarian options are available for some dishes.

First time in. I had a good breakfast. Good music. Excellent service. It feels good to be there.

I was treated to a birthday dinner here and really enjoyed the appies and mains. The ambience and decor was also interesting. I haven't been there during daytime but can say that the evening setting is definitely prime for socialising.

Fantastic service and staff. Super busy but food and beverages arrive promptly and as you asked for!
Delicious food. Brunch/breakfast is a highlight. Love the egg scramble where you can even have it made with egg whites and choose up to 3 fillings Smoked cheddar, mushroom, and bacon is one of my faves.

I love that they take resos (there was 5 of us). The location is great, easy access with street metered parking only $1/hour and free parking can be found if you like to circle around!

Our daughter brought us here to celebrate her birthday as she’s been here before. The drinks were excellent. Each of us had an entree dinner, chicken, seafood, bison and gnocchi; everything was delicious, especially the chicken! The staff and owner were so friendly. Thank you so much for a lovely evening with homemade food.

We came with a big group and no reservations. They were so kind about it, and quickly found room for us in the restaurant. The food took a bit to make, but only because that's the time quality takes. It was amazing. I sampled a little of what everyone in my party had, and it was all amazing. I highly recommend stopping here to eat.

Had late breakfast at this restaurant, really enjoyed their omelette and coffee, and the staff was very friendly there!

Ate too quickly to take a photo but I got a steak hash for the brunch special and my partner got the chuck burger - both of us left full and satisfied and everything was so tasty! Service was so lovely, I have a gluten allergy and they made a gluten free garlic herb toast for me! Definitely worth going for a brunch

Food is quite decent. Space is intimate — tables are very close to each other. The kitchen on the day we went was unfortunately missing one person, so the wait was quite long.
The restaurant also fills up quickly on the weekend, so by noon time, there’s very few tables available. The restaurant seem a bit chaotic too. Waited a bit long for the bill.

Really cool atmosphere. Dim lights; music was perfectly ambient; stocked bar. Happy hour bites were awesome. I had the brussel sprouts and miso poutine. I would order both again! Local craft beers are always a must.

Service seemed a little flustered even though there were only 4 full tables in the restaurant. I don't think we ordered from the same server twice. Nonetheless, service was timely and pleasant.

Gorgeous and clean bathrooms.

Food was really good and reasonably priced. Very good service as well. Would definitely eat here again and I highly recommend it to others.

Hoo boy. It pains me to give such a low rating. Story below.

The Good:
- AMAZING brussel sprouts, seriously, they are magic
- Great energy from the host despite setbacks. However, no apologies were made for the abysmal service.
- The servers that arrived at 5: 30 were great - sadly this was over two hours into our meal.

The Bad:
- 3 hours from sit down to leaving. Reservations were made a week in advance for a party of 8.
- Server did not know the one beer on tap, specials, put drinks on the wrong bills, and was generally unattentive.
- We were told it'd be 30min before we could order as the kitchen was behind. It was 55min before orders were taken.
- Food was delivered 1hr05min after orders were taken.
- Due to errors by the server, drinks were basically randomly put on different bills.
- 25min and 4 bill re-prints to sort out errors
- The restaurant was not busy - two other patrons at time of seating, eight when food was delivered.

I get it - no one wants to work on a holiday. In the words of the host, "this is a disaster". I get the distinct feeling that he was overworked and was doing several additional jobs. At one point he ran out to buy bread and fruit.

The server was clearly inexperienced - she had to check with other staff on basic questions and messed up drink orders to the point where other servers thought we had moved around (we hadn't).

The end result: 30min expected delay, another 30min to order, an hour for food, and another 25min to sort out mistakes on the bill. We ate in 35min.

The food was mediocre - soggy fries, dry wings, soggy burger bread, over-kneaded unseasoned rubbery burger meat. We only smelled cooking about 30min after ordering, at which point a lone chef was spotted working the stations, so the poor thing was probably rushed as well.

It wasn't all bad. The brussel sprouts made me smile for the first and only time that night. I honestly thought the host was trying his best. I would have appreciated him simply turning us away given the state of the restaurant, or at least apologizing for a job poorly done.

Here's hoping this was a one-off bad night.

Warmly welcomed and very well taken care of. Food and drink exceptional. Atmosphere and ambience is welcoming and comfortable.

Great food, especially delicious vegetarian options, interesting cocktails, and kind, welcoming staff. One of the best meals on main street.

Came here for some after dinner drinks and enjoyed the cocktails, but very displeased with the frivolous use of plastic straws. This restaurant should seriously consider giving straws out only when requested or use compostable / paper straws instead to be more environmentally responsible.

Ate here on Monday night with a group. The restaurant is intimate and had a great vibe. We were a group of 13. We had the option of the front area or the center with a few tables moved together. We opted for the tables in the center which enabled the group to chat easily. Everyone enjoyed their entres and drinks. The servers were excellent, very attentive and made perfect recommendations. We will be back.

Amazing food and great service! They were short a chef and even still, we were served our food within a very reasonable time.

Phenomenal! Recommended by L'Hermitage Hotel, where we were staying. Line at Jam Cafe was too long, so we walked next door. Warm welcome, seated immediately. Server was friendly and knowledgeable. Gave great, quick recommendations. We each had a main dish. My friend the frittata, and I the fricassee. I also had the maple bacon for the side.

They use eggs with golden orange yolks.

Probably one of the best Quinoa breakfast bowls I've ever had. Reasonable prices.

Cozy, cool, mystical forest themed restaurant that plays jazzy beats, has great, good looking staff. Not to mention the food is delicious for brunch, lunch and dinner

Consistently one of my favorite places on Main Street. Staff are always super friendly and the food is always great. They always start you off with a basket of homemade breads and compound butters. I usually get one of their Benny's but everything I've had there has been top notch. Just a great spot all around.

One of my favorite spots in the city. The food might be be $4.75 any more but the value for money for a dinner here is still amazing. Their kway teow is my top pick. I have never recommended to someone and had them not love it. Veggie options are also diverse and delicious. Food can be a bit greasy, but at this place you won’t mind it. Hawkers might look a little run down but it is always clean, the food comes quick, and the service is great.

This is my favourite restaurant on Main Street (and the one I visit the most). The food is always fantastic (the best prawns in town) and the staff are super-friendly and accommodating. Freddie always gives his personal attention to all details to ensure the guests are pleased with everything. You'll never regret eating here.

Pleasant restaurant on a busy stretch of Main Street, good place to meet with friends for a meal and a few drinks. The BC Brisket Chuck burger was very good, juicy and plentiful. It comes with fries and salad, so that is a bonus. Why four stars? Because the nachos are a disappointing for the price; you get twice the amount at other places for less. Presentation was good but I was expecting more from the nachos.

Great people, great service, quiet enough to have a conversation. This is our go-to neighbourhood happy hour /date night. Vegan miso poutine and Brussels sprouts are our favs.

Just an amazing place to have a brunch. Our server Uxi was a super star and took very good care of us, even been a busy day. Highly recommended!

Nice brunch on the weekends. I really like the wild boar eggs benedict.

During the week it's a nice spot to grab a quiet drink. Cocktails are great and they have a good selection of beers.
