I've been coming to this store for the past 3 years and I have no idea what's going on in the Pharmacy department - the level has gone down, you can see from far away that the staff hate their job (and consequently do not care about the customers anymore). I only remember to change my prescription to another pharmacy when it is already too late. I am sure my review will not help but I hope it can help me to remind to go somewhere else!

I used to spend a lot of money in London Drugs, but after having had more than a few negative experiences I now tend to think twice before shopping in this store. The old men that work in "Customer Services" are just appalling - basically there is no "Customer Service". I spent over $50.00 in this store today only to be laughed at by the "Customer Service" man when I was trying to bag my shopping, and it fell on the floor. Sick to death of being abused by your rotten staff.

I’d like to share my recurrent bad experiences with London Drugs at Davie St. I’m an old costumer and I visit this store at least once a week and most of the time I’m followed by security guards for no reason; I’m always aware of not giving any suspicious or controversial impression but it really doesn’t matter. Putting my hands inside my coat’s pocket inside a London Drugs is impossible if I just wanna have a peaceful shopping moment. Today was the epitome of this disrespectful attitude toward me. I went to London drugs after passing through a nearby Shoppers because I was comparing prices. I didn’t do any weird movement, I was just wearing beach clothes and apparently had the wrong appearance and shade, so all the security guards started to follow all my steps in the store. When I went to pay for my purchase, I noticed that the cashier sneakily tried to look inside my bag, which I purposely set in front of him so he could see I was aware of that unfriendly situation and that I wasn’t hiding anything. I had to verbally say that I had things from another store in my bag so he could be aware, again, that I’m not a thief. This has been a recurrent situation at this store and I’m completely sick of this embarrassment and I’ve just stopped leaving my money to a place that sees me as a threat. Stop this kind of attitude if you don’t want me to use the R word among everyone I know, including media and social media. Shame on you, London Drugs.

The pharmacy in this branch has a real problem. They've never phoned me to acknowledge receipt of prescription sent to them by my physician and when it can be picked up. I am not even sure if they read feedbacks that concern them.

Update: I give credit where credit is due. They did phone me today and told me that my prescription can be picked up today. I suppose someone do read feedbacks and I for one do appreciate it. Thank you so much.

This is a PHARMACY REVIEW, not applicable to the whole store.

I am not qualified to judge how good they are as pharmacists, but I can say with absolute certainty that their organizational skills are ZERO! An admin person is desperately needed to organize, streamline and oversee their processes.

There is soooo much walking around in circles searching for information and/or actual medication, a lot of obfuscating and/or outright lying, shifting blame and procrastinating. On the other hand, there is no follow up or follow through, especially for prescriptions that require doctor's renewal.

There should be an “ownership” of each prescription to make sure it’s moving through the system accurately and in a timely manner. All information about the status of a prescription fulfilment should be on the computer system, easily accessible to employees and easily communicable to the customer: date received, date faxed, who is in charge to make sure there is a timely response / fax it again / contact customer for help with the doctor, whether medication is in stock or needs to be ordered – and so on.

This way there would be no running around checking piles of baskets and paperwork in multiple locations and no need for customer to keep coming back multiple times.

I guess I am "lucky" that this time it "only" took 10 days, 3 visits and 3 phone calls to them, plus a phone call to my doctor to get my medication. (Medication that I have been taking for 10+ years, always prescribed by the same doctor, always fulfilled at this location.)

Last time it took over a month, more than 5 visits and I don't know how many phone calls, in the end receving wrong/lesser quantity of 1 medication.

It has been a very stressful and infuriating experience each and every time for the past several years.

This review is for the pharmacy only. The pharmacy staff seem like nice people who are trying their best, but the pharmacy is so slow that I recommend that you avoid it.

The last time I had my prescription filled, I came the same day and I was told it would take 3 days. That was cutting things kind of close, so this time I made sure to have my doctor send my refill request in on Thursday, three days before I needed it.

When went to get it on Sunday, it still wasn't ready. I was asked "When do you need it for"? Well, I'm not in the habit of having prescriptions filled when I don't need them, so the answer is always going to be "as soon as possible". But now you have to give them three days or more AND tell them when you need the prescription, apparently?

No, they weren't out of the medication either time. They just hadn't even started to fill the prescription yet.

You could say, why be impatient? Why not get your prescription renewed well in advance of when you need it?

I tried that once at another pharmacy close to where I used to live, and it was a big problem. Even though my prescription was not for narcotics or anything like that, the pharmacy treated me like I was trying to do something criminal-why would I need it so far in advance when I just had it filled a few months ago? So I will never do that again.

Yes, I know they are short staffed. They have been for a long time. But if they can't fill prescriptions in a reasonable amount of time, maybe they should just shut down the pharmacy part of the store altogether. But I guess it's hard to shut down the pharmacy section when the name of the store is "London Drugs".

Anyway, I'm just going to take my business elsewhere. I need to be able to get prescriptions quickly and reliably. It's not like going to a store and they're out of your favorite kind of chips or something. Prescriptions are very important.

BTW, I've never had any problems with the non-pharmacy part of the store at this location; they've always been great.

I've shopped at London Drugs for 40+ years and at this specific store, more than 20 years. I find the staff to be extremely helpful and the pharmacy staff go beyond their purview to assist. Very rarely have I had a problem with staff, they really do try their very best to be helpful. BTW - during Covid, they delivered prescription medications free. Thanks Davie Team - a job well done!

I have very bad experience shopping online. I bought a stuff and the store informed me which was ready for pick up. The next email said that the stuff was picked up and the sell is completed. Actually I was not to pick the stuff a couple hours later!
I email LD online Customer Service and they reply also disappointed. It's look normal in LD and this is starnard procedures. What a terrible online experience!
Don't recommend.

Having the London drugs here is very convenient, especially for the Canada post pickup inside the store. The downside is that their stock is super inconsistent and the pricing is almost always higher than Safeway, Amazon, or other competitors. This place is sort of a last resort if you can’t find what you’re looking for elsewhere.

My online order took over 2 hours to get my single item together for me to pick up. I waited around and then eventually showed up where I was snapped at by 2 employees as if the fact theyre short staffed was my issue. I work in retail and wouldnt ever let my employees snap at a customer asking a simple question. Thank you for wasting my time and money!

I know a lot of sweet women whose name are Karen but this cashier (her tag also say she is a customer service), Karen L, was far from sweet.

She tried to talk with me and I gestured to my ear that I cannot hear because I am Deaf. I was buying three bottle of waters and I also needed a $5 changes into coins for the parking.

She continued to talk to me and then rolled her eyes when I again gestured to my ear while shaking my head. She mumbled and sighed like I was being inconvenience to her.

I pointed at the $5 bill and gestured like "OK" in shape of coin. She gave me a blank look then shrugged. I pulled out a $1 coin. Again, she rolled her eyes and mumbled while giving me changes.

She gave to me and then proceeded to say that I needed to bring a paper and pen.

I'm almost 30 years old. I know how to communicate. I came in only needing to buy water bottles and get changes. I've rarely have any issues but there are time when I come into this type of audist behaviours. She is rude. Dehumanizing. Ableist.

She continued to try to talk to me even when I was leaving. I am utterly disgusted.

Two staff aren't wearing masks. With a virus spread via fine aerosol particulates this is ineffective protection for customers. Why are they working? The pharmacy is not at all helpful. I switched to another pharmacy years ago when they refused to look up allergens in medication. The new pharmacy did this in a few minutes. I thought, perhaps they'd changed but no. Unprofessional.

Store is fine. Main thing I don't like is the damn covid announcements every 2 minutes "customers reminded about social distancing 6 meters blah blah blah" etc. Ya.like we don't already know a year and a half later. Everyone is tired of hearing these sorts of announcements over and over.

I am giving this store 4 stars not 2 or 3 as I do appreciate that it has actual cashiers unlike the Robson St location.

I've been thinking of writing this review for a long time and just kept it to myself; but it still bothers me.

I asked the pharmacist to do an emergency refill on a prescription for me and he power tripped and refused to do so saying he didn't feel it was an emergency. I went to another pharmacy and there was no problem. I have spent hundreds of dollars at this pharmacy in the past I haven't been back to this location since.

Smaller London Drugs Store variety, but I am impressed how much they can pack into the store and I seldom have had issues having to obtain a rain check. Have used virtually every department in this store for over 15 years, and have had very good experiences from all departments. Glad they added a postal outlet as well. One issue is the pharmacy. Many times I have had a longer than usual wait, not due to them being busy, but due to heads down, on the phone, type of waits. It has been worse of late, understandably covid rules. Friendly service is also lacking, seems they really don't like what they do. I will assume, again, it will get better after after covid, hopefully.

I was currently shopping @ London Drugs couple days ago and one of the supervisors named Norm was very rude with the customer service help and he got angry when I was curious about the propane bottles and when it will start coming like are you kidding me? I don’t think I would ever go back to this Location at London Drugs ever again.

This is more than a comment I came to this Location a couple of times and I liked it here a lot great customer service and people were until this 1 guy who worked in the customer service desk named Boun one time kept waiting in the customer service lineup for an online order and told me that we couldn’t find you under that name was completely UNPROFESSIONAL and RUDE while he was communicating with other customers and wasn’t showing the time to pick it and I wasted my money He was acting super Almighty like a president running for election I had the worst experience and I am never coming back there isn’t any offer that can come after that it really sucks that it had to end this way.

Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Register with them for points and extend your return times for 2 more weeks (to 4 weeks). I even found a iPhone se 1st generation protector in their discounted box! (My otter broke). The computer Dept on Robison was really helpful.

DO NOT GO HERE FOR ANY PHOTO RELATED NEEDS. This is my first time using this location's photo lab and they managed to lose my film roll that I can never get back or see the photos from. Terrible service and took two weeks for them to determine they actually lost the film roll. Never followed up with me and I was the one who had to contact them. Please, do yourself a favour and use a different location if you value your photos at all.

Archid in electronics is very knowledgeable and helpful! Thank you to the post office clerk at London drugs today. He was so helpful and gave me lots of help when trying to put together my parcel. Some post offices don’t help at all in preparing a package so it’s nice to see a post office that still cares about customers.

There is not a mask policy at this store. Both when dropping off the RX and picking it up I was exposed to customers not wearing masks less than 2 metres away, also they spoke to me. I did not feel safe. When I asked for the RX, supposed be ready in 30 min, this was 40 min. I was told not ready. I explained my exposure and asked if could be done right away. The technician spent 10 minutes counting out pills until I spoke to DH about my experience on the phone. Then she suddenly slapped the RX onto the counter and let me take it.

This is more a comment about London Drugs in general rather than this location. I got a $10 off coupon in the mail if I were to spend $50 in store. I put it in my bag thinking I'd use it the next time I was in the store. Of course, when I tried to redeem it the staff person said it had expired. I ended up buying more than I needed to at that time and no discount.
I don't understand why when I have the London Drugs app and the London Drugs card in my wallet app, why am I getting things from London Drugs by snail mail and by email that aren't connected to the card? Coupons seem so 1950's and after this experience I won't take any coupon seriously from London Drugs. I'd rather be valued as a customer with an easy to understand tangible benefit that doesn't easily expire than waste mental energy where it's not worth it.
It feels like London Drugs is stuck in the past. This experience has left a very foul taste in my mouth and I'm likely to go to Shoppers or elsewhere for my needs instead.

I went to the pharmacy and did the special order before two weeks, and I am waiting and waiting until I called back to ask if it’s already there. But no one knows my order information. This is the second time they lost my order. That’s too bad.

London Drugs on Davie is quite convenient to have around although their customer service is TERRIBLE. Their employees look very disgruntled and is almost always unwilling to help. Never get your packages sent here as it’s likely to be misplaced by their unfriendly, unorganized staff. LD on Davie, Your service is embarrassing.

This place is good to have around now that Safeway is gone. It’s kind of my go to store now for quick items and they usually have whatever I am looking for. But the customer service is atrocious! The product stockers walk around with their dollies and park them right in front of you while you are looking for products. They all act like the customers aren’t even there. One day there was a man sitting outside the door yelling at people that he was going to kill them and other not so nice things. I almost didn’t go into the store, but instead I did and went up to the first employee I saw and mentioned the man outside. I don’t know her name, but have seen her working in the store a lot. She is an older lady with wrist braces and grey hair. She put her hand in my face and yelled at me saying “yeah, I know, I’ve already been told! ” That is just one experience, I have a new horror story every time I go there. Also, the staff always look miserable. I see signs that they are hiring, but always wonder, why would anyone want to work there? According to the looks on the staff faces, it seems like an awful place to work.

Very helpful service in the Photo lab last week, stressed out about needing a Passport last minute and the customer service was exceedingly friendly, helpful and quick. They made a stressful night a little more manageable and reassuring.

For me going to LD was a pleasure, until today. It seems that autumn brought new personnel and my advice to the management is to select very carefully who stays at the reception. It takes certain skills to talk to customers. I sincerely hope that to see someone else there next time. Let's talk about the good stuff. Even if it's a bit crowded, it has a large variaty of good products. From cosmetics to electronics, food and office photography. A special consideration for the drug department for its products, but above all the very well prepared and always gentle staff.
