Long & McQuade Musical Instruments

Been coming here since I first started playing guitar and I always finding myself coming back to this specific store. A lot of the staff who were there offering me advice and helping me finding the right strings, guitars, tuners and other music stuff are still there today fostering a comfortable and welcoming environment for everyone. Everyone who works there is highly knowledgeable about musical equipment for every walk of life and they're usually more than happy to take time out of their day to talk with you, they wont just float around and ignore you like employees in other stores. I highly recommend these guys to beginners, masters and anyone in between. If you're going to go anywhere in abbotsford for music related needs/wants I strongly suggest you pop in, and ask for Rick! He's the best.:)

Just an all around great store. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable, great variety of products, and the 30-day satisfaction thing makes me feel safer buying something from them.

I left my electric guitar to be fixed up and although it took about a week (due to a longer cue during Black Friday) they managed to get it done pretty fast. This place is super cool. They have so much variety and the staff are really easy to get along with.

Great local music shop. They one of our larger chain stores so they have most of the basics and occasionally some great deals. Have a mediocre return exchange policy or they would be a 5.

Not super happy at this point, purchased a wireless, when it arrived it was obvious to me the unit was not new as described, was defective so returned it and asked for another newer unit, was to be ordered on Dec 8th, called just after Christmas and was told it was on the way, called Dec 31 and was told next week, now seems they don't know when it will arrive? Maybe money back is next option as this is not good service, will update upon resolution, was going to purchase a new ESP guitar but not so sure now sorry to say.

The staff are wonderful to deal with, all lovely people. They have very flexible financing options as well!

This is the second Long and McQuade I’ve been to, looking at purchasing a second guitar for my metal head son. Second time I’ve walked out spending ZERO dollars. Was in the store for 20 mins and not a single person helped us. Dude with long hair didn’t even say hello when we entered and he’s at the front counter too busy playing acoustic bass. Walk to the back to check out the used guitars and three staffers are too busy talking YouTube channels and thumbnails. Had $2,000.00 in my pocket to buy my son an second Jackson guitar. Walked out with nothing. Memo to the sales staff, your job is to take care of your clients.

Very helpful and friendly staff. Knowledgeable and absolutely zero sales pressure. Great selection of guitars and accessories. They were also happy to reach out to another store to bring in a specific amplifier for me. I have been back several times since then and have received very commendable service. Many Thanks

Hey I just bought a used laney from the abbotsford location. I wouldn't recomend getting anything used from them, i tried out a used roland amp, started out great until I went a switched channels, happened with in the store in front of floor associate, now months later I purchased a laney LC30-ii used have had it 2 months and I'm getting now sound decided to look at connections to speaker one is loose wired the other pronged doesn't work I'm choked

Knowledgeable workers that know their stuff. Brought my mic in because it wasn't recording properly, and it only took the guy a couple minutes to figure out that I was using it backwards. 10/10 good, kind service, as they very kindly did not throw eggs at me as I left.

Growing up an army brat, and having served myself I have availed myself of many different Long & McQuade locations, from the original store in Ontario, to the far wet coast of BC. I have known the manager of this store since it was Toews, and he really is a great person to deal with, and is really concerned for his customers. It is a fairly large shop (compared to the population of Abbotsford) so there are plenty of employees, however sometimes they get tied with customers. Even then they will get to you, and are warm and apologetic if they have kept you waiting. I, and my grandchildren have had lessons and the teachers are as good as any that I have had across the country. I used to go to the locations that have stock of what I want (always in a rush:) however now I just let them bring it in. I do recommend them. BTW - if you have a complaint it really goes up the ladder - L&M are really concerned about their brand and their customers.

The Staff are like Family.they really care about your needs and are Attentive to details. Shop has most everything in it if it doesnt they can get it for you.

Parking is terrible but staff are very friendly and helpful. It’s a pleasure to rent from them.

I was helped by a couple great staff members on trading in a guitar and buying a couple more. I was also able to get a group lesson on the day and time that wanted. We had a awesome time in there.

As a family, we have been loyal customers of this location for years and purchased many instruments over the years. Jim and the staff have always been top notch. Recently my son and I purchased two Gibson Les Pauls, At a recent band rehearsal, I dropped my sons requiring a substantial repair, We were devastated and I felt horrible for having done this to my sons beautiful new guitar. Jim made everything better by coming up with a solution beyond our expectations. Bravo! Jim has always been a class act and has always made all transactions a pleasure. My wife deals with all our purchases and he always makes her feel like a VIP. Our band has started bringing in all our guitars for set up and repair and have to mention the guitar tech Skylar is a genius. Keep it up guys.

I have been to a few Long & McQuades, but this one has been the worst. I didn’t find anyone welcoming, and it was difficult to talk to the staff. I was there to for equipment rentals for my wedding, and the guy talked down to me the entire time. I don’t think he knew I was a musician. He massively overpriced us, and was pretty rude to my wife. Every time I tried to talk to someone else, they just redirected me to him. I ended up going to the one in Langley, saved about $400, and got much better service. I wouldn’t go here unless you know someone personally.

The staff does the best they can they give you space if you want it and if you want shootout two pedals ect.they will help you and give there opinion and let you try it its just the best music store ever

14 years ago I bought a Squier Bullet at the Surrey location and it's been great ever since. So I decided to get it adjusted to as new condition and took it to the Abby location where I live, after the years took their toll they got the neck straight and adjusted the bridge well. Made the guitar more playable. Service took a few days was done well. The cost was actually less than estimated which was a nice surprise. Will definitely be back again for more stuff.including strings and picks.and maybe a new pedal one of these days.

My brother and I go to music lessons here. A truly fantastic place either to get an instrument take lessons or even get an instrument repaired

Awesome staff - selection is excellent in some departments, could be a little better in others, prices are the same. Best music store in Abbotsford

The teachers are great. We have our two daughters in classes and they are learning lots while having a great time.
