North Vancouver location has the best customer service with very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Good place for newbies and people who want to spend money. Sadly, I cannot recommend any other location except North Vancouver.

We walked in to the L&M North Van store looking for a piano and as usual, the one we thought we wanted turned out to not be right for us. However, on their showroom floor was a Roland GP609 Grand Piano. My wife sat down and played this beautiful instrument and knew this was the one. Only through the work of Stefan Cihelka and Randy Vic of the North Vancouver store, what we thought would be impossible, was brought to fruition. Thanks Stefan and Randy for all your efforts. This piano now holds a special place in our home and our hearts.

Went in for help on a recording project. Alex was willing to discuss it with and had great solutions, including an inexpensive rental instead of purchase which was the most cost effective solution for my situation. Told me where to get my hardware calibrated so I'd get the best results. Clearly customer first and now, without question, my go to store.
Any music they don't have can be shipped from downtown. Instruments galore.
We are lucky to have such a good store in the Lower Mainland!

While this is my local L&M, I prefer going to other music stores in Vancouver for my guitar needs. There are a couple helpful employees here, but I'm consistently met with arrogant and condescending attitudes from a couple of the guitar guys, especially Jon. Not sure why, especially since I've spent a good amount of money here. The people in the band dept are a bit better.

Long & McQuade North Vancouver is our favourite place to shop for musical instruments. The staff are very helpful and give expert advice, and there is a great selection of quality instruments available. If they don't have what you are looking for in-stock they have them shipped from another location for free. They also have a good selection of used and rental return instruments.

Extremely nice people and high quality instruments. Also they have a music lesson centre upstairs

Great staff, but short on classical guitar choices for rental. Just two full size classical guitar like the last time.

They are not pushy with selling. When questions are asked they go 100% to satisfy you. No brass repair on site. They ship work to another store (Vancouver or Richmond). They repair guitars on site, have an extensive display, music, fake books, etc. If they don't have something, they will order it in. For brass repairs, I prefer Mussallo Repair at the top of hill on Hastings East of boundary.

I appreciate the variety of rentals you have for artists. Thank you for all your equipment and support!

Terrible attitude staff, it seems like they hate their job they have no love what so ever to music or music instruments

Special shootout to Kevin in the drum department! He's a super helpful, knowledgeable guy. If you have any questions or if you need to order anything drum-related, go through him for an easy, hassle-free process. I ordered a tama speed cobra double pedal last week, and the head store messed up on the delivery. Although this happened, kevin hooked me up with a rental pedal for the time being. He also made it right and threw in a case for free when I picked up the pedal I had ordered. Overall great customer service!
