Horrible place. Not able to reschedule. Took them forever to reply to a phone call. Prices keep going up. Staff are not friendly. I would give a zero star if possible.
Feel I need to give a bit more info here to let people know why they only deserve one star or even lower.
I wanted to reschedule a class but they just couldn't make it happen. I called once and left a message about rescheduling a class but got no feedback. Then I dropped in later that day to check on things and they said there were working on it. Then I didn't get any update for confirmation of rescheduling for two days and I called again and left another message. It turned out they didn't get my second message because no one even checked and they didn't update or confirm with me about the rescheduling request.
Chris, the coordinator wasn't helpful at all but kept giving me excuses. Didn't apologize for their mistake or lack of responsibility but accusing me being mad for their mistake. The so called manger, totally helpless, couldn't offer any thing and only reached out to me because he thought I was loud.
They don't have a proper system to reschedule classes and they don't care about parents and how they feel.
For rescheduling one class, I called twice and left two messages and I went to their store in person, still they couldn't get it rescheduled with all I did. This is just how they treat their work. Parents, customers, wake up, don't go there any more.

Best music store hands down.

Long n Mcquade music instrumental rental shop is a one stop shop for everything musical and production. Apart from the huge collection of musical instruments, they also have massive collection of recording devices like cameras, microphones, noise cancellations devices, speakers, drum sets and what not.
A feature or an additional service that they provide for their customers is loans. You can do instalments to buy expensive stuff. Also you can book rentals which can be renewed just with a call or by going on their website.
The customer service is great. Just ask what you are looking for and a designated person will assist you each step. My go to place for any musical instrument either to purchase or to rent.

Staff were super helpful in hooking me up with guitar rental for my 11yr old son. He's a beginner & I don't know very much about guitars.

Got a secondhand guitar and the place was so cool, the workers were all kind and helpful, too. Really reasonable prices as well and lots of options. I’m super new to instrument playing so I really appreciated him answering all my questions.also… you didn’t hear this from me but the guy that helped me was cute!

I went to Long & McQuade today to get one of my broken violin strings replaced upstairs. This nice employee fixed it in around 5 minutes and it was done. Good service.

I was here yesterday. I've always known that Long & McQuade has a wide selection of guitars and audio equipment, but what really stands out for me is how helpful some of the staff are. I was lucky to meet Shane Gore. Shane helped me select the equipment I'd need to create my own podcast. But he didn't stop there. He actually took the time to unpack the equipment and test it with me right there in the store. I'm still new to all this so I need the help. I appreciate him taking the time to test it with me. Never once did he try to push the sale on me. He went the extra 10 miles in service!

Have a finicky Jazzmaster that Ive been having issues with.my go to setup shop is very far so I thought let's give the big shop a try.called ahead them to let them know its a finicky jazzmaster, to my horror my guitar is almost the same. But otherwise its a great store with knowledgable staff, just be wary, harder to find good guitar techs nowadays.

I love these guys. Always have. Service was awesome. Picked up a couple of KRK Rockit 5's (Gen 4) and I couldn't be happier.

I don’t think the store or the school is bad however I leaving this review for 2 reasons: 1- there is no water font in the school, students stay there for 40 min to 1: 30 and there is no place to drink water. Once I asked where I could get water and someone from LM suggested me to go to the washroom. Soooo DISGUSTING! That washroom is always dirty at night!
2nd reason - I bought 2 guitars and I had some tax questions and the accountant from the store was rude, lack of knowledge. He said he was going to get back to me later via email and never did. I follow up, went to the store again and he just said the same and never did! Also the sales guys felt always because the way he treated my wife and myself.

I had bought a mixer a while back and it seemed to have gone faulty. Went to the Surrey store to get it checked. Super nice guy who immediately started testing it out. I then decided to buy a new replacement and since it wasn't at the store he helped me search elsewhere. Finally managed to get it from their Langley location where the staff was equally responsive, prompt and courteous. Big shout out to their staff.

Great music store and music lesson location. Broad selection of musical instruments and music related electronics.

Very rude and arrogant when you come in for help with tuning an instrument not bought from them.

A smaller branch comparing it to the one at terminal Ave but, this store still packed with guitars and all the accessories. Went to purchase my guitar there and employee Jordan was very friendly and helpful. Definitely satisfied my shopping experience here and I would come again.

Recommend this place if you live around the area!

Great products, very friendly and professional staff. They go out of their way not only with in-store customer service, but also for promotions and community work. The general manager Rick runs an absolutely amazing location. Kudos to you all for all your hard work during this tough time.

I have been going to this L&M location for years for lessons and have been loving the teachers and one staff that always was polite and nice (he moved I think to Japan (?), however I find the recent lack of masks upstairs when I go quite upsetting. Since I live with seniors, I would appreciate if all staff wear one and have customers keep one on as well, for their safety and others around them. Also I had to call them for an inquiry for the first time and was treated a bit rudely, as the staff's (tad a bit) aggressive tone and response made me feel as if my question was "stupid" and not something to at least take seriously: (sucks to see this change.

Great place for musicians and music lovers alike, staff is great and friendly as well and very knowledgeable. Although during these times making an online order seems to be the most acceptable way, It is not. Their online ordering is not polished at all. I ordered a bass online that was supposedly in stock at the location near me and i figured its probably best to just go for instore pick up. I opted for instore pick up and received an email confirming my order and telling me to waiting for an email saying my order would be available for pick up. Also at this time i would pay for the remaining amount owed. 3 days later I received and email saying i need to pay the rest of the money owed before they shipped it out directly to my house from their Ontario location. After telling the staff i was supposed to pick up instore at the location near me, they completely ignored everything I said and told me I could pay over the phone or online. I reluctantly paid and now am waiting an additional 10 days for no reason at all. So if any of you are deciding on opting for instore/curbside pickup to reduce the amount of contact needed, just go instore and get it and infect everyone. Otherwise you will be waiting for a long time for nothing.

Walked in and appreciated that the lower floor staff were all masked, but upper floor staff were not. We were looking for a specific kit and the staff member kept us waiting as she spent 15-20 minutes searching online and other locations. All this while there were about 20 customers on the upper floor - no social distancing possible at this point. The unmasked employees and the amount of customers made us feel nervous about being in an enclosed space for more than half an hour. Left the store with no kit in hand, but happily found it at Tom Lee - where they regulate how many customers come into the store and all staff there are taking Covid precautions and wearing masks.

Finally got my Sterling Stingray bass. Took a while because they had to ship it in special order. Thanks Nigel for putting up with my ETA requests, I was just real excited. Thanks for your help! Brought it home and played all night. My fingers are numb. One satisfied customer right here!

Called to ask about renting a mic for Chinese violin - which I know nothing about - and the rental department was super knowledgeable and helpful! I forgot to thank the guy for doing such a good job, so I'm writing this review!

The store is awesome. They have a very good selection of instruments, also rental with great pricing. We talked to the store manager (he was nearby. We didn't search for the manager) and he helped us answering all our questions and providing a 5-star service. I strongly recommend this store.

Long & McQuade is an excellent music store. Aside from a really good selection of gear they have superb staff who are knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. As a professional musician, I also really appreciate the Long & McQuade performance warranty for my valued gear.

I had a great experience shopping at this store and staff is truly helpful. I went over my budget to buy a digital keyboard and unfortunately I ended receiving a defective one. I was a bit worried and stressed about getting it exchanged, but the staff readily assisted me and I had very smooth experience. Highly recommend this place!

The people there are always helpful and nice. They always have a good selection of products. And the fees that they charge for renting instruments is hard to believe. Pennies, almost.

The staff at Surrey long and Mcquade are super friendly and helpful. Thet also carry a good selection of items and are happy to order things in for you anytime. What else could you really ask for?

We felt discriminated with this guy on duty this afternoon Sunday Dec. 8/2019 were next on line up but didn't attend to us but instead to the guy with the same color like him that was not on line because that person went right away to other counter. So we're upset went down to the main floor and did our transaction there the guy able to attend to us in just split seconds. In your field staffs must treat all people equally regardless of their nationality.

Love this place! Staff are most welcoming, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. If you're looking to get lessons, the teachers are fantastic, caring and absolutely love sharing their craft.

I had bought a Bose L1B1 bass module from the Surrey store. I have dealt with this store for years with many purchases and have had good experience. However I bought the B 1 module after I was told it has one 10 inch speaker while B2 bass module has 2 - 10 inch ones. Playing with Bose for the first time I found out later that B1 has 7.5 inch speakers and is no comparison to B2 model which is way better.
Had I been told this I would have bought a B2 Bass module. Maybe I should have done my research better but sometimes we depend on the expertise of the sales personnel. Misinformation.

Friendly, helpful staff, good selection of instruments, accessories.
My kids just love this store.
They also have instrument rentals, and if they don't have it, they will try to find it for you.
Ordered a custom Guitar for my daughter and she loves it.

Bad service ever
Never back there again.i return my mic Because it has issue but they charge me 60 Dollar. I asked to talk to the manager, he come to me and he said I can’t do anything for you.

In from the Prince George area and am in Surrey for 6 months and wondered in the 104th and 139th location I was greeted by a gentleman whom really seemed to like his job, I asked a few newbie questions and was treated like a friend. I own a guitar already so I went upstairs and signed up for lessons for 2 months. Great job guys.
If I had to find something it would be the delivery time for there ordered and paid for products, there is not a delivery option there it takes 2 weeks to get a $1000+ guitar from Burlington to Surrey. Not acceptable but there are no options, I thought a FedEx or ups would be available.

The traditional instrument and drum section upstairs is spacious. There are a few different electronic kits which can be played.
Sometimes there are clearance items such as display units which have a reduced price.
This store is smaller than the one at Commercial Drive.
