Lucky Taco

Such a cute little spot just off the main drag! The margaritas for Marg Monday were spot on, fully value. I got the beef and fish taco, both excellent full of flavour. The server was friendly and the ambiance was so cozy with the authentic lights and decor. I will return:)

This is a very cool place. Great happy hour options. I went here before heading down to the Bard on the Beach, which is about a 15 min scenic walk away. The servers were attentive and served us in a timely manner. If you're lucky, there's free parking here and there around the neighbourhood. Come earlier than you expect, as it can get a tad busy.

Loved the food and the drinks were awesome. Our server was a gem and the service was excellent. Came for the happy hour and was not disappointed I found the music a tad loud making conversation a bit tough but everything else was amazing.

Squash taco is the best. Barbacoa meat doesn't have much flavor. More like roast. All seemed overpriced to us. Location convenient.

We were excited to try based on reviews but disappointment shortly followed. Service was delayed and our particular server had no understanding of the menu. Asked for a dish with no cilantro and it came sprinkled with cilantro to which the sever basically said in my opinion it’s not that big a deal.dishes came separately which I like, but it took a half hour for a beer to arrive which was after most of the food had arrived.
Ended up having to find somewhere else to have dinner.
Would not recommend.

Great food in a local vibrant atmosphere. Staff are always friendly, attentive and fun. Gets busy in the rush but we always feel it's worth the wait.

Tacos are overpriced, and my quesabirria was all burnt, I noticed it when i got it, but specially when my friend ordered one later, and that cheese was not burnt, only crispy. The carnitas are not juicy. Oh and the big flop there was actually that they don’t serve any type of homemade ‘salsa’ only bottled spicy sauce.

Me and my partner enjoy coming to lucky taco on a long summers eve stop after the beach. Good margaritas good appetizers with sweet corn and tater being great. Good taco filling meat and veggies. Will return soon

First time spending $35 at a Mexican restaurant and leaving hungry. Our order was nachos split 3 ways, plus me getting 2 tacos and a bottled bee (server didn't even give me a glass for the bottle). With tip, that came to $35. Don't come here for the value. The shared nachos were loaded with toppings and two tacos were very flavorful, though a bit salty for me. At night, it was extremely loud with them playing every Billy Joel song you can think of. Definitely won't come back. Unfortunately when the value, ambience, and service were not up to par, good tasting food can only get you so far.

Came here with a few friends a couple weekends ago! Service was really good (didn't catch his name, but he was a tall fella with silver hair). My friends and I were catching up after a long time not seeing each other, our server was attentive without being too intrusive. The food was great! The corn tacos and corn on the cob were my fave as well as the watermelon Paloma! Thanks for a great night! I'll be back!

The 2 stars is for the lovely atmosphere, the decor, and friendly servers. The low grading is for the mediocre overpriced food. Ordered 7 tacos and 2 beers and left around $80! I would of had a feast with delish food elsewhere. Craved Mexican food and flavour, instead I got a caucasian's man concoction. I may of just as well put anything I had at home in a tortilla and wold of spent less with much more flavour. What saved this place, and what gave these "tacos" a tiny hint of latino flavour was the habanero sauce. I tried this place because of the hight reviews, but obviously these reviews must of been done by people who either do not know how to cook or are too lazy to. I guess what you are paying for here is the fact that the place is in very close proximity of the beach, for the atmosphere, and for the hype and amount of young people who patronize this place. I may be back, but only for drinks.

Tacos are excelente! I tried the carnitas; Baja pescado; camarones. Camarones is a must!
Also the queso frito was really good!

I love Lucky Taco. It’s my go to place when I’m by Kits beach. The ambiance is great and the service is always top par as well. The fishbowls are also very delicious and a good price during happy hour!

Awesome place to relax and eat after visiting Kits beach. The tacos are very tasty and unique. You can also find nice mexican cocktails and cold Beer.
The staff is always willing to serve and the vibes are just like being in some lost paradise back in México.

Terrible greedy service. They won't serve food without drinks. They will do just drinks but no food without drinks. How greedy do you have to make that kind of rule?

I recommend the happy hour menu. The drinks were ok but the food was something else.just an explosion of flavours. The Chorizo one is just great. I'd eat that one many times over the Baja, which was good but not as good. And the Churros.oof!

Finally found a place where when I ask not to put cilantro, they don't put any! So far the best taco I've ever tried. Also the atmosphere is nice. The service is great!

Super cute restaurant with a nice patio. The tacos were really good, especially the baja and fried chicken. The nachos were the perfect side for sharing and they had so many toppings, which was great. We also got free guacamole (thank you very much:) ). The servers are helpful and kind and the food came quickly! Would definitely recommend!

Best margaritas, incredible bar team! I do think their tacos are on the more expensive side but i’m hooked to the vibe & margs so i keep going back. Also they have vegan options, which is great.

This place has a Mexican vibe with all their fancy decorations. My personal favourite is their carnitas taco (the braised pork was super soft and flavourful) followed by their fried chicken taco (it’s pretty unique). Will come back to try the other tacos someday!

Good service and a small but comfortable location where food and drinks are always prompt and fairly priced. Fully reccomend the mushroom and avocado taco for those less meat inclinded while the majority of the menu is a great balance between savoury and sweet.

Really good drinks and the Fried Chicken Taco is by far the best I've had in recent memory. Their cauliflower taco is also really well balanced.

The pink sangria kinda tasted like watermelon in a good way. The pineapple bellini was Supreme I can't believe it didn't taste overly sweet and tasted like true fresh pineapple.

We t to Lucky Taco this evening with a group of four. Was greeted by a lovely host who was actually the bartender. The restaurant was not busy and we were paid full attention. As other guests arrived, service remained excellent. I had 4 spicy Margaritas which were incredible and a carnitas taco and shared chips and salsa.

Hannah the bartender and Lor our server made us feel welcome and has great personalities! Our family will be returning very soon!

The food at this restaurant is fantastic quality! And a fair price for such exquisite food… however! Every time I have gone I have had a horrible experience with the staff and just being greeted and or seated. I had my dog with me and I seen others with there dogs so I put my name on the list to wait assuming it was fine to sit on the patio as my dog is quieter then children n sits patiently and she took my name down to await a seat. She mentioned 20 min wait and I waited an hour and a half to just get kicked out of my seat because of my dog! I was furious as she clearly seen my dog as I reserved the spot. The second time, there was only 1 staff working on a Friday during happy hour and a line up at the door whom not have been greeted yet. I asked to sit out at the stand up seating n she snapped n said it’s just me working and I need to check ur passport. I don’t think standing on the street should even need a passport check It wreaked my whole day plans as I really wanted to share my hidden gem with my friends n family however if u can’t even get into the door it really takes away from the whole experience.

Quite authentic with a little bit of their own style. Tacos were amazing, burritos were good. Definitely recommend going with the tacos here, don't shy away on the spicier salsa, it's worth it.

It’s 11: 27 PM and I just arrived and they told me they stop selling food at 10: 30. Very disappointed and they should list this on here. They also said they were still open lol goofs

The food is good and I love the Bellinis. The tacos are all so full of flavour. At first I thought the tortillas were a bit greasy but after a few bites I think I prefer them that way now. Can't go wrong here.

Excellent food, even better drinks! The server was a phenom and I will definitely be coming back. It's a touch out of the way, but worth the adventure!

Excellent tacos, and unreal authentic vibes. NOT drinking this month, so I had a virgin El Clasico Margarita. Next month I'll be adding tequila. Haloumi cheese appy was tasty and had a little bite. Definitely recommend the fish taco, and pulled pork was nice and tender.

The tacos here were so delicious! Celiac friendly and gluten free options available! They have a separate fryer for their fried items and their fried chicken and tempura cod tacos are gluten free! So rare to find that! We did take out. They are busy so order ahead if you can!

Tasty tacos and good selection of drinks. Service was great and got a table right away on a Sunday which was surprising, go during happy hour to get the best value. Minus a star because the corn cob is wayyy overpriced for what it is, but it was still yum.

My favourite taco place I’ve ever tried. The cauliflower and fish tacos are the best, but I have liked every taco I’ve tried (which is almost all of them). The service is super friendly and the atmosphere is fun. It’s also my favourite spot to grab drinks in kits. Good for casual happy hour, dinner, or late night! I can’t say enough good things about this place.

Lucky taco is excellent. This is a cool taco / tequila spot with a wide variety of craft offerings. Being a taco lover, this spot hit home with a variety of different delicious tacos to feed my craving. 3 tacos + a couple craft margaritas + a flight of tequila and I was a happy camper. Highly recommend!

Absolutely delicious! Went during happy hour, which probably helped, but the food portions were very good and well priced. There are some local taco joints that are just a bit too pricy for a taco to flavour ratio, but Lucky Taco hits the sweet spot.

Staff were very friendly and looked to be having a ball which is nice.

Everything we had was extremely flavourful and filling. Two of us ate and were full for $40! Including a beer!

This place is a gem. Barbacoa tacos, tequila, Michelada and margaritas are all 10 out of 10. The bartender with the beard is very fast and friendly. The rest of the staff, all smiley. The service is quick.

Have always gone here quite regularly but past 2 experiences have not been good. Requested a table for 2 but the server told us there were no tables available. However, there was one table available but we were told we couldn't be seated there as it would be more suitable for 3 or 4 people. This is at 10: 30pm on a Friday night and there was no que outside.
Previous time the server was drinking, forgot our order and the tacos were stale.
Quality of service and food is poor

So this place is great. It's open late, prices are very reasonable and the food is delicious. They play some fun music from the 90s and the staff are not only helpful but hilarious. There are even drawn portraits of the bartenders along the back of the bar from fans!

This place is always packed. If you come after work or a weekend evening, be prepared to wait. Usually it's not too long, and there is plenty to see while you are waiting. The food is amazing, the staff is friendly, and on the ball. The drinks are great, the atmosphere is great, and this is one of my favorite places in Vancouver. Wish I could give more than 5 stars!

Super cute atmosphere and great location.
Very small food menu. Tacos were great but about $2 more per taco than other restaurants in the city ($6-6.50 per taco). The tacos are flavorful, however they are designed for the Canadian palette much more than a traditional taco, not always a bad thing but something to note depending on expectations.
A good place for a couple drinks and a snack, but not recommended for a meal.

I got a beef taco, a chicken taco, and a cauliflower taco and all three tasted so good but they're pretty small. The taste is amazing! Also, awesome restaurant and awesome chill vibe.

Pretty fun place to go for a snack and a drink. I did find the tacos a bit small for the price, and the margaritas are like 95% ice cubes.

DO WASTE YOUR MONEY! Late service, the worst guac, soggy tacos, and worst of all cheating server (Pink Hair Lady: be careful one!). Go to las margaritas instead.

Lots of fun if you are hanging out with friends. Good selection of food and drinks. Tad bit expensive tho. $7 for a single taco. Hmm.

The waitress with terrible eyebrows was super rude when she mixed up our order trying to prove that we were wrong not her. Though she knew that she mixed it up as she sent another girl to bring it (poor server helper).

I had some friends and I go to this restaurant after a game and we were lucky enough to fit nearly our whole team in this small but nice little restaurant. I will say that a couple of reasons the place is not as good is because of the pricing and quality of the food. I was expecting much larger portions for the price and when the food came it was cold and lackluster in flavors and assortment. It felt like a place where you go for a couple drinks and tacos but for the price point the food really was not that good to justify it. They also had no reason to keep the door open when its raining outside, could have left when I realized that the restaurant is cold inside. If you stay until 10 you can get the food at a more reasonable price but it still feels expensive for what you get. All in all I expected better than what I thought would be a great late night dining experience, but it was anything but that.

My boyfriend and I stopped by this restaurant for a late night stopover after an event that finished at 10: 30pm. Located near Kits Beach, it’s a little restaurant that offers fast service, affordable small dishes that is perfect for midnight snacking. The price seemed affordable and was pretty pleased with the service and the variety of Mexican tacos dishes.
