Lumine Coffee

During a temporary stay in Kitsilano, I made it my mission to find my favorite chocolate almond croissant in the Vancouver area. Armed with a list, I contacted some bakeries to clarify whether this treat was on their menu. Lumine Coffee quickly responded that, no, they don't make a chocolate almond croissant but if I gave them a day's notice, they would make one for me. Wow - what hospitality!
Today I took them up on their offer. Not only did they make me a few chocolate almond croissants, they even asked when I expected to come in so that they could bake them fresh. I was blown away by their service and friendliness. But, I was even more blown away by the croissant. It was perfectly baked, just crisp enough on the outside with a lovely, fluffy texture. The filling was perfectly distributed and balanced.
I am sad that we are only here for temporary time because my time with Lumine is limited. But, it was is one of my favorite places in Vancouver!

Nice coffee shop if you are looking for a quiet spot to do some work, with a good space around the back! Good coffee and friendly service.

Lovely baristas and some single origin beans more on the acidic side for pour overs at a reasonable price.lots of pastries and cookies to choose from as well, which is appreciated.limited seats in front but lots more in the back, good for studying or working, a bit noisy with the music.

Delicious pastries! Might as well order two pastries to save you time, but you will definitely go back, especially for those croissants. Searched all over Vancouver for the best croissants and Lumine's are very difficult to beat.

Amazing coffee, great pastries, and a well decorated space. Definitely one of my favourite cafes in Kits. One hilarious (but not actually hilarious) note is that they have an accessible washroom… but the only way to get into the cafe is up a couple of stairs. If you’ve got accessibility needs, you can’t even get in the front door, let alone use the washroom. It’s doable with a stroller but it’s still an inconvenience.

Best coffee shop in Kitsilano. About time something opened up. Also the deserts are unbelievable.

Small cozy coffee shop with a pretty cool Victoria Arduino espresso machine. Really really good croissants and baristas that are truly interested in coffee.

The first time I visited the guy behind the machine actually gave me a free shot of espresso after we chatted and compared our techniques. During my second visit the woman behind the bar and I got to chatting about local roasters and our favorite coffee producers.

I'll be back here every time I'm in the area!

Cafe has a great vibe, clean, and service was good! We got some lattes to go and we enjoyed them!

My latte was perfectly sweet and I forgot to ask for half sweet. The banana Nutella croissant was so flaky and delicious! Highly recommend

Love this place! Fantastic Skor cookies, great coffee, and they have healthy to-go lunches which is nice! Good spot for working too.

Surprisingly delicious and fluffy foamed latte. First experience with it, very pleased. The barista made a great latte seamlessly.

Baristas here make excellent coffee and they serve good variety of delicious pastries. Also it’s a great place to buy coffee beans from different coffee roasters.

Love the stylish space in the back that gives you relaxing feeling.

Very cute modern vibe, I would recommend this place for a date. Coffee and cookies are great, though it would be nice if the cookies could be reheated when served. Would return:)

Lumine has always provided quality coffee. Their environment is clean and bright. The smiles of the female staff brings vitality to the store! The guy with glasses show enthusiasm when recommending coffee to people.:)
*The only problem is.the quality of the drinks should be controlled. It fluctuates depending on which barista is serving.

Cute cafe and good service but came here for the coffee. The chai latte didn’t have any chai/spice flavours.

Very cute minimalistic design cafe! Lovely service, the molasses cookie was really good too. Enjoyed the matcha latte. I like how you can have it unsweetened or sweetened.

I give 5 stars even though I didn't like the coffee because maybe it's someone else's taste. I think Australians will like this place because the coffee notes are similar to the coffee I had at an Australian coffee shop. It is more fruity to me, but I like dark roast chocolatey flavours.

This place still deserves 5 stars because the staff is kind and the decor is very clean. I like the spinning stools.

Next time I will get some pastries, none of my friends got it and I have to be as skinny as them so I resisted?

Great coffee, I tried their cortado and it's among of the best you can find in Vancouver. They also have good home-made pastries and the place is nice and cozy.

It's nice to see another new cafe in our neighbourhood. The space is quite small, but the contemporary design is attractive. There are some tables with many plants in the small room at the back of the cafe.
I visited here a few times and I like their drip coffee, it was very smooth. There were some fresh baked goods, but the choices were few. The cinnamon twist is my favorite. It was so flaky and sweet, and went well with my black coffee.
Staff are very friendly. I’ll revisit again.

Excellent coffee, environment and service! Located on one of the main streets it’s definitely worth a visit. Needless to say, what a playlist folks, I have been shazaming most of the songs haha

Came here for the coffee flight, but they did not have four kinds of coffee beans available to make the flight. When we asked about alternatives, we were met with a curt and cold response. We ordered two coffees instead. The one coffee we got was lukewarm, and the Ethiopian was extremely sour. Both indicative of coffee being left out for a long time. They offered to replace the first lukewarm cup, but then forgot about us until we asked a second time. Will come again to try the flight. Hoping the coffee will be fresh next time.

Super cute coffee shop. They are currently using Detour and Agro Roasters, some of the top choices. Beside incredible coffee they also do In house freshly baked goods, must try their chocolate croissants and almond croissants. They offer much more but I will have to come back and try them next time. Interior design is beautiful and modern, and I cannot wait for patio season, such a hidden gem. And 5 start to their incredible staff and customer service

The staff are great here, very friendly and accommodating. They kindly had another group make space to clear up a table and seat for me to sit in. London fog is strong and they have an interesting chocolate hazelnut banana croissant.

I definitely want to say that this place is amazing, and also they have a great customer service. The espresso was really tasty. I’ll come back soon!

Really wanted to love the place after seeing previous reviews. Interior design is modern and good vibes.however, drinks are not good enough to my tasting. We ordered flat white and latte. Espresso is both bitter and sour; I don’t taste any sweetness from the whole milk.

Good coffee and pastries, nice interior and really friendly staff. There is a seating area in the back that's well lit from the courtyard. I hope they can utilize that space in the summer!

As you know, it’s not an easy time to find a coffee shop with seating nowadays. Yes, I was that person with a laptop who desperately needed space to work for an hour! I was relieved to find this new shop. Vancouver’s coffee culture can come off pretentious so I appreciated how helpful they were at giving notes without being forceful or elitist. Their design choices were evidently expensive but so worth it. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. I wish I lived in the area cause I could see myself as a regular and becoming friendly with the baristas. Can’t wait to come back and try the fresh pastries!

Warm customer service, fantastic atmosphere, and tasty coffee & pastries. I had a walnut cinnamon swirl, and an iced chai latte. Both not too sweet, which is just how I like it. Highly recommend this new coffee shop.

I work right above this coffee shop, so great location for our office. Simple interior with a cool tunnel to a back area for additional seating. Love the Banana Chocolate Hazelnut Croissant!

Staff were friendly, the process of ordering and receiving my purchases was smooth plus the food was delicious. I highly recommend their gluten-free oatmeal-raisin cookie. I highly recommend checking out there space and the awesome, but hidden quiet seating area behind the front entrance.

A good place to relax and chill out! The owners and staffs are very friendly and kind. Many dessert and sweet drink here.

Beautifully designed new cafe on W 4th. Flat white was a 3.5 and the chocolate croissant was a stellar 5. The front is very clean and minimalist, with a lovely little secret space hidden in the back with gorgeous pendant lights. Not a lot of tables so hopefully the person who had spread her stuff over the entire 4-top isn’t using it as her personal office all the time.
