Beautiful Park on the coast in old downtown Nanaimo. Playground, Picnic Area, Fishing Dock, and tons of other amenities.

Beautiful place to take a nice walk along the sea wall in Nanaimo. Also one can take a walk down on the docks and watch people crabbing and also take a look at some of the fishing /crabbing boats

Best playground in Nanaimo. Very wide variety of equipment meaning kids of all ages can enjoy themselves. Plus this playground is designed to be wheelchair accessible and has multiple pieces of accessible play equipment.

If you have time to kill before catching a ferry, I'd recommend this place to stretch your legs.

Ideal for those who wants to jog everyday. Has a wide space. And nice view of the harbour.

I love going for walks down at Maffeo Park. I love the flowers around the lagoon and all the landscaping done down there. The washrooms are usually clean to visit after a brisk walk. It is always nice to see all the children playing in the playground that has so much in it. I also enjoy walking down the warf to see how the people are doing in their crab trap endevors.

A beautifully planned waterfront city park built on a 25 acre isthmus (that’s hard to spell: “is th mus” A slightly dated pavilion host protests, concerts and social events. It’s like Hyde Park’s de facto Speaker’s Corner. Yes, there’s a smattering of homelessness, but that’s all part of a constitutional democracy. Ample parking and water front bike paths will round out your perfect fall afternoon.

You can spend hours in this park. There is so much to do here. There is a wonderful play area for the kids. The park has shaded picnic tables with couple of food trucks and ice cream trucks around. There is a clean and well maintained washroom.
There is a boardwalk that takes you around the pier. If you are lucky enough you can see the sea planes fly or land. This park and the boardwalk is pet friendly.
There are couple of ice cream shops and a souvenir shop around. We spent our afternoon simply strolling down the park and it was a time well spent.

Incredible waterfront with an available playground for kids. Parking is accessible; don’t forget to get a ticket. The place is clean and refreshing, with the smell of the sea breeze and the sound of seaplanes and tourists walking around. Restaurants are also available, offering a wide variety of choices. We even spotted a floating restaurant!

A lovely place to spend evening. There is plentiful parking, lots of walks and other interesting things happening. The view of the mountains and sailboats is lovely. Just go there to do nothing.

The first 3 hours is free parking! Always a plus when you are looking for a place for a walk or a picnic. There is the iconic Nanaimo sign which is awesome for pictures
