Exquisite food with view of False Creek and Coal Harbor. It would be even better if one eats here on a sunny day. Be sure to reserve your table with view.
Good chicken tenders! But, winter months the kitchen is closed by 730 usually. No notice or regular hours, just based on how busy it is so don’t count on it!
Hostess took 15 minutes to seat us and we were ignored. I was able to order prawn tacos which came after almost half hour. Prawns had tails. Im a wheelchair user and washroom was very cramped. No place to move the chair in the stall. Really disappointed. Gorgeous views
Beautifully located in False Creek. The sunset views are gorgeous and the beer and cocktails are very tasty. Warm and friendly staff as well. The food is good but a bit pricey but that seems to be the trend since COVID-19.
Pre-covid this group was well known for their terrible service standards. Our server this evening was decent, despite leaving us without a food order for a little too long, but that was probably because they are short staffed - so that can be forgiven, it was probably the best service I've been given at any of their locations. However what can't be forgiven is "tofu tacos" that are just huge, hocking pieces of tofu, un-marinated, un-flavoured on dry flour shells with dry salad. So bland and un appetizing in every way, not even any hot sauce! DO BETTER. This is Vancouver - you need a half decent vegan option! No beyond burger or even a veggie burger on the menu! RIDICULOUS!
Good service and great view, but sadly the food was not good at all. I don't want to be harsh but I will never eat here again. Enjoying a drink here would be good, but that's all.
I was here yesterday and had their Rockofish Po boy dish recommended by the waitress and it was too oily. I felt sick afterwards, nauseous and extremely thirsty. It took me half a day to get back to feeling normal again. I haven’t tried the other dishes in their menu but this one dish i ordered was way too oily! I like their ice cream but that is it.
Eh, might want to give this one a pass in favor of the numerous alternatives in the area. The server was inattentive and disinterested, and the food uninspired for the price point.
I had the "showstopper" salad, which was fresh and well balanced, but not at all worth the $15 price tag. Add $5 for what was probably 2 oz of chicken and now I'm feeling like this was a financially unwise decision.
The view from the expansive patio is spectacular though, and this is really the only feature that makes Mahony's worthwhile.
A restaurant with a decent deck right by the dock at that section of false creek, you are in for a treat for some delicious food that goes with a view. The restaurant lively and dog friendly, and the staff are very accommodating in seating when our group size went from 4 to 8 during a packed evening. The pizza there is delicious (we had 4 different ones and all of them were well received)
Update for June 2021 (new GM) : The menu was updated and the food quality has been noticeably reduced. We have ordered several dishes over multiple visits and were hoping the food would live up to the historical quality. It did not. The staff was also changed and is significantly less friendly and capable. The patio remains nice, but the quality of the food + experience is no longer worth the price.
Pre-2021: One of the best patios in Vancouver. The food quality is above most and the price is very reasonable for the view that you get. Friendly staff and great happy hour specials (20% off food!) make this a must visit place on a sunny day.
We went for dinner and we were seated in a very nice spot on the patio, which by the way has a rear view of downtown Vancouver, just on the water. The food was not bad but not exactly as expected. The pizzas, sausage arugula and mushroom arugula were good in size but light on the toppings for our taste. The Pacific bowls were very tasty but the quantity was small. The burger is very good, tasty and is full plate. They have a nice selection of beers and the drinks were good as well. The staff were polite and attentive. Overall we left happy with our choice. There is room for improvement on the menu though.
You guys need to update your closing time. It says 10 online. Even after calling and listening to your answering machine, it still does not specify what time you close. Waisted my time coming down. Won't happen again.
We used to love the food, it was really good even a couple of months ago. The waitress let us know the menu changed just recently. The food was nothing like it used to be - small portions and over priced as well. Disappointing both food and wine. Our waitress was lovely and the service is still great.
Food was good but poor service. I asked for water and my 2 friends got alcoholic beverages which came right away but my water didn't come until the very end after we had paid. We had also asked for a takeout container but after we paid our bill it never came and it was like we ceased to exist.
Beautiful for a rainy day! Service is perfect! The food is sooooo good! One question I have is.why does everything I put in my mouth makes me want more from this venue.its sooo good.the waitress and hostess really made my day felt like they were good friends from a past life. Glad we didn't listen to the negative reviews! And the patios (heated and non heated) are so perfect for a beautiful rainy day today.try the "beef dip" its sooooooo good.and the Caesar drinks with Belvedere Vodka = 100% smooth sweet and a little spice just the way I love it! And the yam fries! Wow soooo heavenly, just melts in my mouth. What a perfect day! Just LOVE this place!
Great outdoor patio on the second level with a great view of the water and Vancouver city. Staff was friendly and food was good. A must visit Irish Pub.
The heated patio upstairs facing the west was really nice. The food overall was just average and I thought it was going to be a little better for the price. I do still think it's worth coming here to take in the views from the patio especially on a nice day with drinks.
Craving for pub food and so my friends and I went to Mahony for dinner yesterday. We haven't been there for a while so we thought we would go check it out. Arrived there around 7 and it was great that there were lots of tables upstairs to choose from. It wasn't pack at all which is great for social distancing.
To use the menu, we had to scan it with the QR code. Although it was okay to navigate. I felt like the menu could be more user friendly on the mobile. I bet many people had a hard time spending longer than it needed to be to figure out how to navigate the menu.
One of the downside coming to this restaurant was the washroom's condition. My friends and I were surprised how messy the ladies washroom. Toilet papers were everywhere and out of the 6 stalls. 4 didn't have toilet papers. It made me question what's their protocol for cleaning their washrooms during COVID time? How did it get so messy when it was only 7 pm? It was simply just gross.
The food was decent, fries were good. The overall dining experience was alright. Might give another location a try next time.
Great location, menu is fine, food and service is good, great deck. BUT we've been there 4 times, most recently July 6 2020 (midst of covid recovery). The wheelchair washroom is deplorable. OK, so it's now November, and we've been back several times in the interval (we like to walk false creek), after we discovered that the main floor toilets are in fact wheelchair accessible, and clean. The food really is good; a cut above normal pub fare. I had given them 2 stars, but now they're a 5!
Fantastic atmosphere. Good view and of vourse DRINKS! Best of was fun -amicable service. Keep up the good work. They even have some dessert: good cheesecake:)
Awesome views. Perfect for a sunny day in Van. We went on Wednesday and they had 50% off bottles of wine. Which basically meant they were store prices. Amazing! Service was good. Food is good, nothing amazing.
I'm biased but I really think an Irish bar should have Guinness on special during the everyday rather than just on Sundays. Aside from that, it's a good place with plenty of room for folks and a large patio area.
One of Vancouver's best pub! Great food great service warm friendly atmosphere.best patio ever! Fab sports bar.love watching sunset from patio overlooking False Creek.
We had great service at the bar. Happy hour menu is small but delicious in terms of food. Good views of false Creek from the windows and patio. Mahi tuna tacos were great and the chips were greater! That sauce MMM. And the first restaurant I've seen in Vancouver with compostable ramekins. Nice work! I'm so grateful. This will be amazing in the long run. Great green practice.
Solid service. Accidental current drink removal was met was quick and polite replacement. Enjoyable food options, entrées were not cheap but realistically worth the quality. Views are beautiful, quintessential Vancouver skyline and sunset. A wonderful summer retreat.
One of the better patio experiences in this city. Casual, with great service and good menu choices. They also have a seasonal menu which adds to the options. Great place to unwind for happy hour.
Cosy pub with a nice English-style decor. Their happy hour lasts until 6pm including on Fridays and I was pleased by the beer selection. I haven't tried the food so I won't comment on that. The place is very spacious so it is great for hosting events. However, be aware that the location is equidistant from Granville Island and Science World so it can be out of the way if you don't drive
Went from Wednesday night trivia! Great host and fun quiz that gets progressively harder each round. Beers are a bit pricey to be expected from the location. Servers were also great.
The server was very nice I must say. The food was very low quality and there is 18% charge for service (maybe for bigger groups) but she could tell us in advance and not when brought the bill. I won't come back here if I don't need to. The location is cool.
Irish place where you can order Chinese dim sum and Thai curry. They lack direction and it shows in their food. Expensive too, we paid $20 for a small plate of grilled pork belly.
Nice spot on the waterfront. Good selection of food and beer. And gelato for dessert. Ask for the craft beer selection, as the regular selections are cookie-cutter, found anywhere else beers. I can recommend the fish and chips. A bit pricy for my taste, but you get a good quantity of food. Give the waitress your tag number so you're not towed, they have a parking lot for Mahoney's only. Parking is at a premium in Vancouver.
My favourite stop every time I visit Vancouver.great draft selection and real good food. Pete Mahony always stops by the table to chat, and that's why I return there every visit.
Enjoyed a pint of parallel 49 power slide imperial ipa and very tasty bangers and mash. Along with the three good size sausages and mash potatoes, there was squash and other winter veg and gravy. Very good comfort food and friendly and helpful service. A little pricey for comfort food but enjoyable while I watched the whu and liverpool game at lunch.
We had our holiday party here and it was a great experience. The food was great. The service was awesome. Hope to come back here again. Thanks Tom and Tina.
