STAY AWAY FROM THESE SCAMMERS. They change their prices randomly and try to make up things and overcharge people. They are scammers. Indian Guy who works at the front with the strong accent is so rude and starts fighting if you ask any questions. They purposely started vacuuming right by my animal to stress her out and she was getting so scared and started jumping around. They purposely tried harming my cat. Stay away from this garbage money grabbing place. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR ANIMALS, JUST THE MONEY. TYPICAL SCAMMERS.

Very disappointed my cat was so sick she could of died and was told my bill to keep her over night was 800 and they wanted 400 before they would even treat her I sat there for 4 hours raising the money. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. My cat split her lip in half and the cut went deep inside her mouth and they sent me home with only pain meds and charged almost $200 for doing absolutely nothing and told me it’ll heal on its own. I noticed her cut wasn’t healing and I had to take her back a few days later to the animal hospital she originally goes to since it wasn’t open the day the incident took place on and they immediately took her in for stitches and told me the cut went deep in her mouth. Careless people and overpriced! I’m never going here again. I’d rather wait until the next day to have my cat assessed by people who actually CARE. Please go to people you trust with your furbabies, this place is just not it!

Brought my pet poodle in because there was a needle stuck in his throat. Staff and Dr.took great care of my baby right away and saved his life. I am so thankful for their professionalism and promptness.

Great experience at this clinic when I suspected my dog had bloat. They expedited x-rays, confirmed the bloat diagnosis and were treating her in less than an hour from our arrival.

Thanks to their swift care, I went home with my dog that night instead of alone.

I'm glad I listened to my gut and brought her in. No pun intended.

My kitten got hit by a car. We waited over half an hour in the room with him while the "dr" tried to figure out how to get as much $ out of us as possible. It was so stressful I literally had a seizure and wasnt there for the last moments of my babie's life

BEST CLINIC! Brought in my dog recently because he was in pain. Doctor told me he had bladder stones and needed surgery. Doctor and staff were very caring and patient with my pet. Prompt surgery took care of the problem. Thanks to doctor that my baby is doing so much better now! Highly recommend bringing in your pet here!

Kind, professional, clean, fast and OPEN ON HOLIDAYS! Nobody enjoys scares involving our furry family members, it's so much easier to leave them in the hands of genuinely caring professionals. Thank you so much for treating our cat and giving us peace of mind.

Was good with our cat, not good with us. Didn't tell us how really sick he was, just let us go saying he needed to get tested some place else. No referral, no copy of the blood work, no warnings. We thought our pet was going to get better but instead he was dying and they never told us. Spent over 1000 and was going to be spending another for more tests until the new vet explained what was really going on. Had to put him down a week later. Really feel like the vet was a coward, letting someone else do his dirty work by breaking the bad news.

It's evident that the staff are very knowledgeable and care for the animals that come in.multiple staff members did a good job at easily explaining what they were doing and why they were doing it.they are quick to help and do so effectively

This is a scam they r cash snatchers and don’t care for ur pet I took my can and they said they r going to keep her over night and charged me 1300$ and they gave her sleeping medicine so that she looks in worse condition.

Dr. Dhaliwal was really helpful and informative and the rest of the staff took great care of my dog too!

Our dog was delivery her puppies the first one came out and didn’t make it our normal vet was closed so we called mainland and rushed our dog and the puppy there unfortunately it was to late for the puppy but we wanted our dog to deliver the rest of the puppies there so we didn’t loose anymore so we decided on an X-ray to ensure puppies were all lined up and shot to make her contractions stronger we thought they were going to monitor the delivery of the rest of them but nope they gave her the shot and sent us home and we ended up loosing the 2nd puppy as well. They charged us almost $300 for the X-ray when our normal vet only charges $200 for 2 views. I would never go back there again. Thankfully the last 3 puppies survived the birth.

My family and i want to thank you for taking us in when our dog passed this morning at home. You showed us such compasdion and were so very caring in our most tragic time. Thank you for doing everything you could to help us through and treating Thumper with the very best care. We will forever be grateful to you.

While I appreciate that there’s a clinic that’s open late at night which has saved multiple pets lives, I do not like how Dr Gary Dhaliwal presented himself. As a healthcare professional myself I feel like he took advantage of a patients vulnerability and exploited that to his benefit. I also did not appreciate how he would not look at me (female) in the eye when he was explaining (his explanations contradicted himself as well). He would look at my brother when explaining despite my dog being MY dog. He would somewhat look in my eyes when I asked him a question directly about my dogs seizure but he would answer looking at my brother. I hope he changes this because it has turned me off from going here, I don’t trust him because I don’t feel respected or valued. His veterinary technician with the green hair is a gem, if I remember from Friday her name is Cambie but I may be butchering her name. She sympathized with me and made me feel better, and she looks at you in the eye.

Dr. Dhaliwal please do better with your people’s skills and your explanations. Think before you speak so you don’t contradict yourself later.

Doctors are amazing here, they have helped me out so much with my dog, stitched up he leg when he cut himself something sharp and they helping me treat his dental issues. The team is also very kind and know how to help:)

Last night we called multiple late night vets because one of our three wasn’t doing well. She was off. Breathing was labored and heart rate was rapid.
One of the late night (open to midnight) vets said it sounded like she may need to be admitted and recommended going to Mainland just in case.
Unfortunately our girl had congestive heart failure and didn’t make it.
I must say that the vet tech/receptionist and Dr Dhaliwal were both amazing.
Professional to nth degree. Compassionate, understanding, patient, kind and friendly.
They laid out all of our options. Let us talk about Molly’s life with us. Gave us multiple options and didn’t rush anything whatsoever.
We are grateful for the way in which they helped us say goodbye.
Highly recommended.

Our dog had kennel cough but we didn’t know, it would be obvious to any other vet (because we took it to another vet the next day when they were open and they said it was kennel cough right away) yet they charged us $600 for tests and tried to keep him overnight, the vet used pressure tactics such as “your dog is sick and you don’t want to keep him over night and give him medicine? ” to get us to leave him overnight where they would charge a lot more. Gut instinct was to get him out of there despite it being a very tough decision to make, when we went to our regular vet when they were open they seemed pretty appalled with the manner in which this vet conducted himself.

My cat had a discomfort and non-stop meowing. She would roll on the floor and was not really herself. I took her to this clinic at 11 pm. Before going there i asked how.much will i spend. Thenlady said 50 bucks for check up. I ended up paying 400+. The doc cheked her yp and said rhat my cat is in heat, being not spayed. Was checked and said she is totally healthy cat. However he recommended doing lab tests to see more internally. After waiting for 40 mins lab result came and said that my cat was dehydrated. Recommended fluid qnd i said yes as if i was hypnotized. Another 50 bucks. I.could not say no. I knew it was too expensive but i just could not make any decision to say no.
I hope this pandemic time when people are holding tight on their money, the doc could have postponed the lab bcoz he knew the cat is healthy. Could have said nothing to worry as she is just in heat!

My 10 week old puppy got sick one night and started vomiting. I called the clinic and they told me to come in. Both the receptionists and vets were super caring and very helpful. They were really good at explaining what had happened and gave great directions on any next steps. Service was prompt and very professional.

Took my little dog there in severe pain with gastritis. I asked for some pain and nausea meds to tie him over until his appointment with his regular vet. They tried to stick me for almost $1,500 for every test known to man and when I refused, they were furious. They kept my little sick boy in the back for an hour crying and whining in pain while they tried to pull as much money from me as they could. Despicable behaviour. If you love your pets, don't EVER enter this place.

I had an elderly dog that was becoming more and more ill as the weeks progressed. I was on a trip to Edmonton for 3 days and came back with limited resources. The following night i woke up at 3am with the dog sick. I took her to the vet at 330am and came up with a financial plan with them in order to treat the dog. Unfortunately there is some things money can't by and I ended up losing the dog that night which was incredibly heartbreaking. This vet not only showed me empathy in the way I was treated but they didn't over inflate the cost of everything. I am grateful to have randomly drove by this vet on my way to a different vet at 330am. Also not knowing any other vets I feel completely comfortable taking animals there in the future.

Our family took our one year old dog to the clinic for an emergency visit because he was coughing and trying to vomit in the middle of the night. At the clinic, we were checked in by the receptionist while the vet listened behind the door. When we finally met him, our dog was already in the back and told us that our dog had kennel cough. Though the doctor thought he had kennel cough, he did not do a good job of explaining that to us and was rude/condescending about it. He seemed keen to push antibiotics. He ran blood tests and told us our dog was dehydrated. After we had paid the $415 bill, we finally got to see our dog. He looked very thirsty, so we asked if they could get some water for our dog. He refused and told us to give him water at home. It seemed like he was more interested than making his money than actually caring about our dog. I will not be going back to this clinic.

I’m giving them two stars for helping my puppy late night, when his vet wasn’t available but as for the service from the staff at the clinic I was not impressed. They weren’t very friendly, and weren’t good with making sure my puppy’s records were shared with his vet in a timely manner.

I called was told my bill would be 85 dollars, upon arrival i was then charged extra for an emergency fee, when i asked what the issue was i was told it was an allergy, we i asked for more information i was given blank stare and shoulder shrugs, they then proceeded to give my dog shots i did not approve nor was i asked about and the total bill exceeded 300 dollars. The vet seem completely disinterested in the welfare of my dog the entire time. There is another emergency vet nearby i have now been informed that is a much better vet.

My cat Roo went in sick and left way worse. He was never the same and I spent an abundance of money on medication and vet appointments trying to save his life when more tests could’ve been done in effort. Very disappointed and absolutely devastated. It’s pathetic the way they handled my kitty and I believe the inexperience and non understanding of the situation is what led to his death. He only just turned 1 but like most vets, money is more important. Couldn’t do the one thing I needed you to do and I do blame them for my cats death as he could’ve gotten the better help he needed. Please don’t take your animals here. What a joke this place is.

My girlfriend and I brought in our kitten that was having diarrhea issues to this emergency clinic after being recommended by guildford animal hospital on July 26th. The receptionist was very nice and concerned about our kitten. The doctor Gurpal Chahal came out and had a strange demeanor and prescribed 100mg/ml of Metronidazole over the course of 5 days twice a day and told us that they divided the medication up to take 0.05 mg each dosage.

After administering the medication for the fourth time our kitten had some sort of overdose as his eyes became extremely dilated and his hind legs became rigid and fell over as we were hurrying to rush him to the hospital he died within 1 minute of taking this medication. We cremated him at the guildford animal hospital today and they were very sympathetic to our loss. We called the mainland emergency to tell them what happened and they did not show any sympathy and said the doctor would call back later and hung up.

I am furious and heartbroken as we trusted the veterinarian to be knowledgeable and experienced as he should be, but instead our kitten died after just two and a half days bringing him here. I searched up this medication he prescribed and one of the first results is that this medication should not be used on young puppies or kittens.
I wanted to pursue legal action, but we would be out thousands of dollars even if we did win a potential lawluit and that would not bring our kitten back.

The only thing I can say is DO NOT bring or trust any living thing anywhere near Gurpal Chahal and frankly this establishment as I have read other reviews about similar situations.

BRING YOUR PET HERE IF YOU WANT IT TO DIE.

**Edit 7.28.2020 9: 45 PM** Someone from the emergency called back said he was Gurpal Chahal after seeing this review and was extremely defensive and blamed my kitten's death on a inherited neurological virus and that they would have to see an autopsy (rather ironic as I had already said "WE CREMATED HIM".

They were extremely unsympathetic and have no compassion. Even if this claim is true Gurpal still prescribed medication that was not what he needed and sent us home. A vet should have the cat stay with them for a few days to monitor them.

I am COMPLETELY DISGUSTED by this emergency center and it should be SHUT DOWN. Shame on you.

Our 12 year old chihuahua had congestive heart failure and had been living on meds for about a year. On a holiday Monday he was doing very badly and we knew it was the end. We were unable to get in contact with any vets, even some emergency vets were closed. My husband called mainland and they made space for us right away. The staff was extremely compassionate and caring during his last moments of life. They let us go in with him and stay as long as we needed. Very thankful we went to them.

I have been bringing my dog Ayva to this vet for 7 years. The vet is extremely helpful and friendly. I always know Ayva is in good hands when I bring her to mainland animal emergency.

A little over a month ago, my 9 year old Irish Wolfhound mix was extremely lethargic and could not stand up properly. He was diabetic (diagnosed over a year prior) and I was immediately concerned about his blood sugar levels and that he was going to go into shock or coma. Took him to the emergency hospital to do tests and x-rays. Vet told us that my dog was severely dehydrated and had a general blood infection and was severely constipated. They told us he would have to stay overnight and be kept on an IV and given antibiotics. No problem. We go to pick him up the next day when they open, and my dog is still visibly unwell, panting, and nearly blue in the mouth.can’t even sit down comfortably in the car. The vet sent us home with probiotics and stool softener and told us to watch him closely. Not even 30 min later my dog passed away at home. My dog did not get the proper care he deserved and this was a completely preventable situation. Why was my dog sent home when he was still sick? Why were we given the ok to take him home? This hospital had my dogs medical records as he frequently visited Guildford Animal Hospital for glucose level checks and insulin. As a pet owner I put a lot of trust into vets to be able to take good care of my animals, and I simply horrified by their misjudgement here. I blame this hospital for my dog’s death under their malpractice and would absolutely not recommend taking your animal here in an emergency situation.

I brought my dog here 1 week ago and he was lethargic. The receptionist was very nice. They responded to my dog right away. And, since that day my dog has been happy.

Tried to ask a simple question for something that concerns me about my dog. "A white mark on his mouth and gums". If they call themself a vet, they should have a general idea of what I'm talking about, and be able to help a customer seeking information! They were rude, and wouldn't help with giving me an idea of what my concern was, unless I brought him in for an examination. All they want is your money.

We had the best experience with this emergency clinic on Feb 4/2020. They are very professional and caring and explained everything to us each step of the way. The tech and vet were excellent. Our girl received very good care. We will use this clinic again. Highly recommend.
