Man Cave Barber Shop

Went to Mancave in yaletown today for a haircut. Met this absolute Gem of a guy called John. Was like home away from home. I’m a new immigrant from abroad. He suggested many haircuts and styles. I wanted something for work and also could be a little playful on the weekends.
I was so impressed I felt I was listened to and understood. This barber is the best. I will be definitely asking for John again. Thank you so much John

Went here once when I was in highschool and I still remember it clear as day till today. I asked for a fade and just trim the top shorter and this lady I had proceeded to give me freaking a buzz cut. Even the other lady in the front desk looked surprised with my cut when i came by to pay for something i can do myself with my eyes closed. I cried inside never came back here again.

Came in here to get my haircut fixed from another place. Barber didn’t listen to a thing I asked and then when I pointed out there were things that needed to be fixed the dude told me he was gonna charge me double.

Tasha is a master of the skin fade, been here multiple times now and I highly recommend her for a fresh trim

I live in surrey & it was the worest time when i went vancouver and thought there would be great barber but my bad, i could cut my hair better at home! Please never go there I suggest you

I’ve been going to see Raffi for over 3 years now. There’s a reason why he always has a lineup of clients waiting for him at the door. We always have a great chat while I’m in the chair, I’d definitely recommend visiting Raffi if you’re in the area!

Customer service can improve. My barber was not in a good mood and was upset when I asked to make my hair shorter than what she initially cut.

Edit- I emailed the manager after he responded letting me know to email him, never got a response.

Hair cuts are good for the most part. However, I’ve consistently noticed poor customer service. The barbers speaking and laugh to each other in their own language about who knows what.and there is no effort to connect with the client. The most recent time I went in, the guys were making fun of a new receptionist – in their own language – she sounded like she is new to Canada and not super confident. I don’t blame her though as I would hate to work in that environment.

Tatiana is one of the best hairdresser/barbers I have had! Her hair cuts quality and attention to detail rivals many of the more higher end places that I have been too. In the past I used to spend a lot more to get a lot less compared to what Tatiana does.

I would highly recommend this place only because of her.

With other barbers I have not had that good of a service.

When you come in there be sure to ask for her. She works there on Mondays, Tuesdays, Saturdays and Sundays.

This place is my regular for haircut and beard trim and adjustment. I would recommend John for you hair and beard grooming needs. John is my go to guy for the hair cutting. I really love his work eith the scissor abd trimmer. This place is setup at a convenient location and people who work there are friendly. They dont acdept appointment but welcome walk-ins. I would recommend this place for haircut.

I love the cuts I get from Tatiana. She's friendly, attentive, and quick without rushing. Above all, she's great at understanding the style I want and helping me turn pictures into a cut that suits me. She nails it every time, I'll be coming back for many more cuts!

Great value compared to what I'm used to in Austin TX. Barber was quick and skilled. Great skin fade. Took maybe 15-20 minutes. Walk-ins welcome. Got in immediately. Nice sitting area for waiting. There's free PacMan, too. High quality products for sale here, too.

They only have walk-ins and handle them very nicely. The barber was okayish, mostly listened to what I wanted. The beard trim cost me more than a haircut which was not expected. Overall a good experience

I came here a while ago and I met joe, honestly the best barber I’ve ever met. Perfect attitude and he cuts like a master.

I was told that this place is good. It’s not! At least for me it was not. I’m brown and I felt like because of my look, I was sent to the newest person in the shop. I’m telling this because me and a white guy both entered the shop at the same time and he was sent to a someone who looked experienced. I still managed it coz this happens a lot a lot with us because of the way we look: (. I still had a feeling that this new person would not have any customers and he would treat me well. No problem with his customer service and treatment but he could understand one small thing even after telling him multiple times - I want my hair to remain long - DO NOT CUT THEM SHORT! He did cut my hair short (he directly put a trimmer and everything’s gone) He didn’t even bother to take a look how my head shape looks like. He definitely asked me, but never understood. There’s a very important event in my life and they ruined it. Worst Experience Ever! These are harsh words, but never judge a book by it’s cover. I still gave him tip so that this new person will not judge people like me by the way we look. I might be wrong but this is what I felt.

You can't get a better cut service and barber then man cave, go get your cut you will thank me layer. Maybe have them check your profile and get those brows trimmed too:)

I've been going to Man Cave Yaletown regularly for 5 months now and am always happy with my cut. Raffi is a great guy and always gets the job done consistently!

Did a walk in today, got the best service and a great cut in a long time!
They were busy but got the job done. I got greeted and asked multiple times if I was happy with my cut.

It was my first time at Man Cave and I had a pleasant experience. I got a haircut with Rafique and he was very accommodating. He communicated regularly to ensure that we were on the same page and also suggested alternatives to improve the hairstyle I was looking for. All in all, great service, will visit again!

Gone here a few times and the haircut has been good, Got a Girl today and it was done within 20 minutes, showed me the back of my hair briefly with the mirror once finished. When I got home and took a real look it was terrible. What should have been a fade had more lines than a notebook wouldn't really call it a fade but more of an undercut as she shaved right up to my parting which I've never seen before. Some of the people in there are good some were in a chair before I arrived and still there when I was leaving which clearly shows some of them pay attetion to details and care. I'll probably never go back.

A little overpriced for the quality of service and haircut. For the prices they have, they should be treating you much better. And this is in comparison with other places in Vancouver. Never coming back here again.

If you read all these 5 stars reviews and think this shop offers the best bang for your $28, then you will be treated like a tourist and get 10-15 mins of an amateur level barber with an attitude. The result felt like I could do a better job myself with a $20 Wahl electric hair clipper set.
Moral of the review - every time you think you can save $10 and enjoy the convenience of walk-ins, you do the walk of shame for a month LOL. Please find a barber who charges at least $40 in Vancouver if you care.

Me, female coming in with a bob. My time here yesterday started quite off putting without even a greeting from the barber as I approached the chair and sat down (second from the right). As we proceeded, I got the vibe that they were overall just uninterested in cutting my hair. That vibe was difficult to communicate with especially when I came in for a drastic change that I was hoping to get some professional guidance on. I had examples from a single model of what I was looking for but the experience trying to share my vision through that felt dismissive. As I was looking for a salon/barber, I had found an older Instagram post sharing that they get a lot of female clients so I thought man cave would be a good fit for the change I was making. I just felt uneasy with growing anxiousness throughout my whole experience. It was the worst when I noticed my hair being cut further without being consulted on the length I wanted. It started from the back before I noticed and was cut shorter than I wanted, evidently and unnecessarily shorter than what I had showed. Felt like a haphazard job. Lacked communication and to top it off, beelined it to the receptions desk to check out what I would tip. I am unhappy with how I look now but the experience really makes me feel worse about it.

Maybe I wasn't lucky, but my barber, she was aggressive and moody. The result were worse than cheaper place I went to last time. Had very unpleasant experience. I think releasing frustrations on the costumers is unacceptable.

Barbers are poorly trained and do a shoddy job as they are jumping from one client to another. One of the worst haircuts ever.

Got a haircut from Raffi! He was really good! Remembered me from last month or so when I got a haircut which is pretty impressive it was only the second time I'd been there in a long time.

Needed a last minute haircut for a show, was able to walk in and immediately get a spot with Raffi. He was skilled, professional, clean, and helpful. The space was great, clean and roomy with everyone taking precaution. Super happy with the experience all around and will happily come back!

This place is essentially a Great Clips that hired a better interior designer. It was cool watching baseball while I got my hair cut, I didn't even notice how bad she did. I'm sure some of the other barbers are good but I got unlucky.

Jon is an absolute master at fades and line work. I've been going to him for years!
I highly recommend him to anyone, he's incredibly skilled and knowledgeable and the peace of mind knowing you're getting a cut done by one of the best is unbeatable. He does an exceptionally good job working with my hair type and his line work on my beard is phenomenal. He's also an all-around solid guy and great to chat with.

Pretty bad 15 minute haircut, minimal care or interest shown, beard clean up was lopsided, felt like I was being manhandled. I don't doubt these other positive reviews, but this was a terrible first impression.

Raffi took care of my mop of a head of hair today. Great banter and professionalism, and the hair cut was top shelf as always.

Professional. I don't have a barber preference. I usually go in and ask for the first available chair. I'm always satisfied with my haircut.

After going to five different barbers when I first moved to Vancouver, this location is the best.

Went there for first time today. Dino was my barber and did amazing job. Definitely going back again!

Barber did something completely different from what I asked and destroyed my hair. I have an important photo to be taken tomorrow and now I don’t even know what to do. Guess I’ll try to find someone else to try to fix the complete mess on my head.

They don't know how to cut longer hair.

I've been growing my hair for a few years now and really liked it but now I look like a tool. Stay away from this place unless if you need a normal or average cut.

The staff here give great haircuts. They are quick, friendly and skilled. The pricing isn't bad, and is certainly worth it. I would definitely recommend this place if you want a good-looking haircut.

I’ve been to many barbershops in Vancouver, and Man Cave has some of the most talented staff members I’ve ever experienced. In particular, I had the chance to get a number of haircuts from Jordan and Oscar, and both have a keen eye for detail and due care that most up and coming barbers don’t usually show. I came for a drop-in, fully expecting a long wait, but Jordan managed to squeeze me into his already busy schedule. Amazing customer service.

Got a haircut on 10/02/2019 from a barber at mancave yaletown. Cant remember their name but the barber was a female, had some sort of lip piercing The hair cut was good however the fade was very very meh.it didnt make me go wow like the place I regularly goto who specialize in crispy fades

It doesn’t make me happy to write this review because I’ve had positive experiences here in the past, but the customer service I received when I visited the Man Cave around 1 week ago was so awful I just couldn’t stop thinking about it.

This visit actually started out nicely. I waited almost no time for someone to cut my hair, and the haircut was great. During the cut I made the decision that I’d like a shave too - and apparently this is a cardinal sin at the Man Cave. I asked for a shave after the cut was finished, but I guess the man who cut my hair didn’t do shaves so he told me he’d have to hand me off to someone else. I was fine with this and paid ($25 + tip) for my haircut before I was put in another chair for the shave.

The man who did my shave really did not like that I had just had my hair cut. He complained to the other man who cut my hair for the duration of the shave, and haggled for a cut (40% I guess) of the haircut money. Mind you, not a single word about this was said to me. If I had known it was such a big deal I would’ve just opted out of the shave, but it was too late at this point. After a very uncomfortable shave, I paid ($35 + tip) with the barber hovering over the till. He even complained about the amount I tipped after all that, I guess this wasn't worth the ~15 minutes of his time it consumed.

Went a few times, at first it was okay with the Columbian guy in the back, but I went to a few other guys who cut my hair and it was very amateurish. I tried to spark a conversation with the barber last time, but he seemed uninterested and the hair cut looked like something I'd get at an 8 dollar barber shop. I asked for a comb over and basically got a buzzcut.

Won't be coming here again.

Awesome spot! Went today (Sunday) and requested Oscar and waited about ten minutes. He was an awesome barber and knew exactly what I wanted! Finished in record time, but he definitely delivered an awesome cut. Super cheap price. Definitely going to be a regular!

Simon has been cutting my hair for a few years now. Always look forward to seeing him and I’ve never had anything but a superb cut and a great chat whenever I see him.

He’s always got a long wait to get to him and I can see why. He’s well worth the wait and is definitely a star representation of Man Cave’s professionalism, personability and quality.

Haircuts are alright, but customer service is ahh. The barber that cut my hair kept chatting with other barbers in their own language (I assume Iran) even while shaving my hair. He didnt seem to care, I somehow felt like a haircut practice mannequin, not a human.

I am staying in vancouver for a short time and they did wonderful job unlike FARZARD'S barbershop which ruined my hair.if you are new to the city and looking for a sure thing.this is the place

I kept telling the guy to line up the front and after the forth attempt I gave up. When I got home I noticed it wasn’t even faded in properly and both sides were uneven.first and last time

Asked for a skin fade. Not very good at blending in with the top. Cut my hair in less than 10 mins. Over priced for a quick careless job.

I live in Richmond but went downtown to this place. There's nothing pretentious about this place. Just guys doing great work and keeping up a good conversation. My barber was Oscar and he knows what he's doing. This was my first time there and it was obvious that there's a high level of loyalty and connection among the people that walk through the door. The barbers are skilled and they keep people moving. Saturday mornings are busy.be aware.

Great environment. Oscar does a great job balancing between managing the front making sure everyone has been taken care of and always giving great haircuts. Would highly recommend Man Cave and going to Oscar for your haircut and beard lineup
