Wene I asked her repeatedly to thin my hair she kept saying yes I will.by the end of it she never did wene I asked if she planned to.her response was we forgot the thinning scissors at home
and they cut my hair with scissors from the dollar store. To top it off the back of my 50$ Guess shirt I just bought is dyed black from her rinsing my hair so that's ruined.and I had a coupon coving me for a hair dye job and she should only dye my roots.to top it off I wad there for 3 hrs and I don't think I heard her speak more than 10 English words 3 hrs I listened to her train another girl in punjabi

Mantra closed it's door and New business providing spa services now.it's name is Tru Glow Laser & Spa.

The owner is rude, insensitive and callous. I have sensitive skin. I asked her to go slow on my waxing. She monked giving me example of others. She got angry telling me that I'm saying that she doesn't know her job, which I never said.
She has inexperienced staff. I wanted to get my hair done in a certain way, but she handed me to inexperienced staff and eventually i could not get the services done, but she redeemed the groupon coupon without providing me the services. The way she talks is very unkind and impolite. Shez overly clever and cunning. So beware ladies especially those who want to use groupon.

I went for my toddlers haircut and I can say that I was extremely disappointed. The lady just cut some hair from the back and left them uneven because she said the kid is crying. What is the point of gng to the professional when you do the same job as we can at home. She didn’t even touch most of the hair saying that it’s uneven well that’s the reason we went to you. Anyways will be gng to another place next week to get it fixed.

This time I got my waxing done by Navdeep. She did and amazing job. I can’t thank enough for painless experience.

Butchered my sons hair. I understand with small children you have to work fast but the cuts weren’t straight and each section of his hair is different lengths… thank god hair grows back. I won’t be returning.

The only reason I gave it a 2 is because the kid zone and cars for them to sit in were adorable.

I just had my haircut done. I asked for long layer to one lady and she said that she can do it. Turns out she did something which isnt layers at all. My hairs are ruined to a point that i will have to cut them extremely short in order to fix them. The ends of my hairs are all on different lengths and doesn’t look like layers at all and everytime i brought it up, all she could say was that it will look better after “blowdrying it” and then would just chop off the parts which didnt make sense to her. And i do not know how is this harcut called LAYERS? ! And one more point her her washing would take literally one minute.

I would never recommend this place and never going to this salon again.
There are waxing sticks sitting there on the table however they use the same stick to dip in the wax machine for Brazilian wax also.
Unsanitary and unprofessional I felt. The job of removing the hair wasn't done properly either.
I realised there was wax still stuck on the areas.
Super painful.
I've had Brazilian wax before somewhere else which was quite smooth and professional.

I had my waxing session with navdeep today. I am so impressed with the service. She is super sweet and professional. Would like to come here again whenever i visit BC.

I went in for a wax. First impression was the owner/manager was amazing. Had me thinking I found my new spot. Found the room they used for waxing to be very small and not that clean. The lady who waxed me was rude. It’s already uncomfortable enough going for a Brazilian. She did not get all of the hairs or even try so now I’m left going to another place and wasting more money. She put wax on my feet and I told her I don’t wax those and she continued to tell me there was a long hair which was not true. I have had many Brazilians in the past and this one hurt the most. I was bleeding and had welts. The only reason I’m giving 2 stars is because I felt the initial customer service with the lady on the phone and in the salon was amazing. It’s really too bad she doesn’t employ people with the same enthusiasm.

It was my first experience yesterday. Got full head highlights and hair cut. She did an amazing job bleaching and toning my hair. I would definitely go there in future for services.

My daughter and I have been getting our haircuts at Mantra since last year and they have always done an amazing job!
They give great suggestions, know their craft and we are always asked by friends where we got our haircuts done!

Highly Recommend! Jas was so meticulous when bleaching my hair, she did not miss one hair, and made sure I was comfortable the entire time. I loved how it turned out, and she also works very fast, I was not stuck in a salon chair for hours on end. I will go again. I have dark hair, she bleached and toned it and it came out so good. Also it did not cost an arm and a leg. 10/10

My son whose now 4 years old has been getting his haircut by Raj for the past year. He use to be really afraid of cuts but with Raj’s patience, kindness and technique now my son quite enjoys the experience. I am very happy with our experience here and how she is able to make time for us even if it’s last minute. Great salon!

My experience was horrible. I went for a wax and the woman that did did not have enough strength to rip the strips off. So much oil was applied to my skin that the strips would not stick properly. At one point she was trying to use scissors on me. I have been left with raw skin, I even have a few cuts on my skin. Then she blamed me for having shaved previously…like what? Ive been getting waxes for years that does not matter. The owner ended up finishing the wax but I really feel I should not have paid for it. Then I used the infared sauna which never got hot enough for me to properly sweat. Then she tried to overcharge me Don’t go here. Not professional at all.

I'm a regular here for a reason! I've gone to many different places the past three years for skin tightening and body contouring and this place is the best! They give the best deals, always find a way to fit me into their schedule and all the employees are so amazing! I won't go anywhere else.

I went this place for my facial, and it was great experience with excellent service, and well trained staff, Navdeep gave me tremendous facial service with massage, she knows her work very well and she is very polite and friendly….

Had the hair done… love the red and the cut…

The Groupon says $70 dollar value for $35. So, before I bought the Groupon, I took my adult son in for a haircut. They asked if I had a Groupon. I said no. They said a male haircut and condition was $25? So, how do they post on Groupon that it is $70? It is just a scalp massage with conditioner for 2 minutes. Cheaper to just walk in off the street. The hair was not balanced at the end.

Worst haircut ever, what she gave me was a quick 2 min length shortning. I asked for layers and she just shorten my hair and did nothing else. She is just good in talking but not doing the job right! I am never returning back!

Been coming here for over 5 years now every 5 or 6 weeks for regular waxing appointments. Absolutely love this place. They are fast, they have great prices. So happy to have found a place that I'm willing to stick with!

I love this place for my hair cut. Navi is the great hairstylist who gave me the haircut. I can’t be more happy and satisfied than what he did for my hair. Prices are very reasonable for their service as well. I would definitely recommend Mantra beauty bar for a great hair cut and very clean salon to be at.

I was a bit scared after reading some of the reviews but I honestly had one of the best experiences here. I had a Groupon for $44 for partial highlights, cut and condition. Such a steal! Negar did my hair and was so gentle even though I have very long, tangled hair. I would highly suggest her as she did better then other high end salons I’ve been too. I’ll be back!

Was styled by Navi today and he did an absolutely wonderful job! He was nice and fun and gave me exactly what I asked for. He also styled my hair without asking and overall was really good. Really recommend and enjoyed!

This time was one guy named Navi made my hair from beginning till the end. His skills and patience was really impressive!
The manager Raj was there checking all the process.

Very unprofessional and pathetic customer service. Manvee advises me initially not to use group on coupon since she was willing to offer me a better deal for hair color over the phone and when i was there next day, she doesn't even bother to talk to me and asked someone else to deal and much to my surprise, i was asked to pay way more than the original price infact three times more.

Terrible customer service. I took my son today for haircut the lady did terrible job she was also so mean to him now I have to shave all his head because of the terrible haircut she did.

CHILD'S CUT - we have had several cuts for our son here, all by Prabh. They have been good cuts and she has always listened, not rushed and asked questions like if we have any preference to scissors versus the trimmer. Today we got Raj, for the first time in a year, and she proved to be an ill suited match for childrens haircuts. She went straight to a trimmer with no asks, didn't respect our wishes for the style of hair cut, tried to copy my husband's hair on her own accord and if taking preferences into account is not important. She left the back and sides of my son's hair uneven and did not do a clean or nice job.

I don't review often but am seriously upset at the experience we had today. I called to give feedback but felt rushed off the phone and had to make a case to even get her and Prabh's names.

I don't know if we will be returning but if you are going in for a child's cut please request Prabh for a better experience for your little one.

Got a Groupon, they told me to return it. Massage was not at all relaxing. They don’t know the strokes. Even they reuse the towel and sheet. I purchased 60 mins massage Groupon but i got only 40 mins massage. Don’t waste your money.

I highly recommend, they are very professional and I like the most that they respect time. Also, follow all the safety measures amidst covid 19.

Here visiting my mom as she has a chronic disease that has left her ill for months and unable to get hair done, ect. Finally felt well enough, booked her appointment.
I myself have an autoimmune disease that can ocassionally interrupt my daily life but wanted to accompany her.
Unfortunately, upon the the day of appointment, my mom was quite ill and my own health had a flair up and we had to cancel.
The lady on the phone was very accusatory and unprofessional, stating "Well I find that funny you are both sick at the same time. ".
My mom eventually hung up on her.
My mom has been working with the public for 41 years and works at the head office of a well known company.
I myself work with the public and found the way my mom was spoken too unprofessional as we. Won't consider going there again.

They are very friendly with kids, are patient, they dont turn away a child if they are freaking out. And do their job very well on top of everything. I recommend!

I bought a Groupon for a massage from them. I phoned to book and was told they don’t accept Groupons yet they have ton of services on Groupon. I told her it’s already paid for and again was told I will need to contact Groupon for a refund cause it’s not their problem. This is very unprofessional and now I’m waiting on Groupon for a 10 business day refund.
Will not be going here for any future services.

Bought a groupon for a great price and went to do my colour only to find out a single process colour does not mean lightening it only the root colour! Ended up spending an additional $90 that as a single mom I could not afford! I could have gotten a colour cut Style and highlights at a salon my daughter goes to in Burnaby for the same price or less.

I like this place as it is close to home and you can get a good deal on waxing (I get Brazilians). The women who work there are very nice. The only issue is that the waxing is inconsistent. There is usually hair still there when I'm done, I have been burned before and the last time I was sore for a couple of days after.

Extremely relaxing atmosphere. I originally purchased just a facial but was recommended a upgrade for microdermabrasion as well. My face feels so soft and looks amazing. During the facial I also received a neck, shoulder, and head massage. Highly recommend.

DO NOT buy the Groupon. Very suspicious. Bought the Groupon and called to book. Was told to refund my Groupon and they would give me the same price when I came in. When I went in, they didn't, said it was a colour correction. It was exactly what the Groupon was for but they charged me $20 more.and didn't include the conditioning treatment. Plus it was time and hassle for me to then try to get a refund from Groupon the next day.

There is a stylist there, but she has "helpers" actually applying the dye, washing etc. I left with a large dye stain on my forehead because the helper didn't bother to wipe around the hair line on my skin. Very shady and not worth the hassle.

Inexperienced staff, went there once for black heads treatment and treatment was not good, they almost damaged my face skin, not even worth to give 1 star.

Worst ever customer service experience in my life. They deserve minus five rating. Staff is uneducated and they don’t know how to deal with customer at all. I bought their coupons through groupon n booked appointment but they told me dat groupon charge them 50 %. So pay us cash. On denying the service they misbehave with me. I ll complain with groupon now and ll never go back their again. Just ruined my whole day such a bad experience. I ll suggest don’t give them business because they don’t know how to treat their costumer.

I had a wonderful experience. I almost fell asleep a couple of times during my massage. I'm still relaxed hours later. My facial felt silky smooth and smelled lovely. The microdermabrasion was excellent. With professional skill my skin was buffed and moisturized into a softer, supple and smoother complexion. She got to a problem area and cleared it up with minimal discomfort and I'm so pleased with the results already. My skin is glowing, my brows have been threaded into submission and I'm chill. The salon is big but very well organized into smaller intimate spaces. I found it clean, comfortable and very well presented. I loved that English is spoken and I could understand what was going on. It was like the old school salon days with modern comforts. Parking is free with quite a few salon designated parking spots right outside the salon, which are convenient for those with disabilities as well. I'm looking forward to going back. I was just here to get my hair and eyebrows done. I am pretty happy with the service I received here. Raj did my highlights and haircut and she did great! My haircut looked exactly or better than the picture I showed her. Definitely going back there again.

Got a Groupon for Hair conditioning and colouring costing around 50. Got an appointment on the very same day and when I attended, they notified my hair was heavy (which wasn't even the case), and that they'd charge extra 30 for that. I agreed, expecting a quality service. However, it was nothing as such. Not only did I end up wasting my money and time, my hair got ruined. The "conditioning" made no impact on my hair, thanks to their horribly (literally) quick service, and about the "colouring", it wore out after a wash. One. Single. Wash. Is it how colouring is supposed to work? I'm stunned.

Sadly, was not too impressed. The girl couldn't speak English, and had minimal massage training or skill. Glad I used a coupon, or I would have been so angry at the wasted money and time. Also, they kept me waiting a long time and it was freezing in the room, and when I left they tried to get me to book another massage appointment. No thanks.

Used a groupon I got.good deal 2 for 1 pretty much. The lady who cut my kids' hair did a great job and was good in communicating what she was going to do. She cut their hair quickly and did a nice job. I gave 4 stars because the service was a bit off. I phoned in the morning to make an appointment for 2 kids in the afternoon. When we got there, the lady in the front said she couldn't take us. I told her we made an appointment so she checked and confirmed. Then when we got in, they didn't realize our appointment was for 2 kids.they thought only for 1. All in all, despite the minor misunderstandings on their part, it was great. The salon is set up with 2 kiddie spots (suitable for the under 5 kids) and the test with regular salon chairs. Friendly staff. I would recommend them. Thanks!

Just visited Mantra for first time. Appointment was for!: 00 pm. I was waiting in lobby for 20 min and at list that much in the room.
I was using Groupon deal $30 for full brazillian wax. Lady asked me is this my first time? I said no, I wax regularly.
This was my worst experience. She did it all in 5 minutes. It was so painful. She used same pads all the time. Didn't apply oil or anything on my skin after she finish. My skin is now so red and burned. Men don't go there. Regularly I paying 50-60 bucks for waxing and I figured out $30 is good deal and worth it try. On Groupon they put regular price is $80. I can imagine somebody come and pay $80 for 5 min of this horrible service.
I was expecting they will impress me with service as new client and make me come back. Unfortunately they made me disappointed and I will never come back even for free.
