When we were on the hunt to rent a temporary storage locker for our belongings, we contacted the commercial drive location (after looking at 3 different facility locations in our area) and were invited down for a tour of the facility.
We met with Bill who was very knowledgeable about the building, locker sizes, pricing, building features, rules, etc. We were very impressed that this location was the only drive- in locker facility for the lower mainland which was a huge bonus as this meant our items would stay dry when moving into the building on rainy days (we moved our belongings in the fall- you know Vancouver weather)!
Security was also impressive with the amount of cameras, motion sensors, etc- this building is like Fort Knocks. We liked that the building was also temperature controlled. The amount of dollies that were always available to move our belongings. The polite and always willing to help staff; the list goes on and on with positivity.
We highly recommend this location forever more, you won’t be dissatisfied. We feel like we are leaving a family.
The staff always had goodies for our kids when we visited the office and were always treated with tons of respect.
At one point we downsized our locker, and it was a quick process. Billing was always easy. And our move out was just as smooth.
Like I said we are sad to go, but forever greatful for the wonderful experience with maple leaf storage and staff. Your in great hands with this location

This location gets 5 stars for cleanliness, customer service and security. I liked that there is a full-time live-in security guard in the building. Good access to dollies and carts to unload and move larger items. I never saw any pests, and other clients seemed professional and courteous when passing in the halls.

I took off a star because their hours are very limited. They don't open until 8: 30 am, and they close at 8pm sharp, and anyone still inside after that gets locked in. That only left me with 1.5 open hours a day outside of my work schedule that I could possibly plan around. Not a lot of flexibility and it caused several complications and tough compromises. But I knew their hours when signing up, so there was no surprise there.

The loading bays also have parking bollards blocking access to them, which is a pretty frustrating place to have them. The bay landing is about the same height as a U-Haul deck which would be super convenient except the bollards prevent you from getting close. You've still got to use the ramp on the truck and centre it between the bollards like a bridge. Standard enough, but it just feels like a misuse of space for client convenience and ease of lifting.

But I do think their other qualities make them a solid recommendation for a storage unit facility!

I have been at M. L. S.since they first opened. I have a locker and car spot. Any time I have a concern they deal with it quickly and professionally!

Amazing space, I just moved to vancouver and the staff here were incredibly helpful in many ways. The facility is gorgeous, the level of security is very reassuring, the staff is so wonderful and there is free coffee and cookies in the lobby! I love the fact that it's a covered entryway, great for organizing my van when it's pouring rain outside!

These folks run a great business, they know what is needed and anticipate any issues so that their systems take care of it automatically. Clean and dry, secure, and accommodating. And they take the time to explain not only the 'what' but the 'why'. They will even receive some deliveries which is a major benefit. For a small business like mine, the price was affordable, especially given the extra service that came with it. I rarely give a review, but my experience was consistently above my expectations. We’ve used Maple Leaf Storage 2 times during reno’s over the last few years. Pricing is fair, access is easy and climate/security are well controlled. Recommended if you’re in need of a temporary space solution!

Not a good business model to send to Baliff unpaid lockers.
Recently had a mental health client who will be dealing with balif and collectors because she couldn't pay. Could just as easily charge a "disposal fee" when lockers are first rented out to pay for disposal if someone can't pay. Not to mention you can make money selling this stuff on top of that.
Locking a person out, charging them late fees and then ultimately sending collectors after them reeks of bad business ethics.
There are more viable solutions which would benefit both the business and the people dealing with you.

This facility is fantastic. The location was convenient to get in/out of. It's always really clean and feels very secure. They also made sure to keep customers safe during COVID-19 with signs on the elevator etc. Sherry and Bill in particular are always very helpful.

The staff at this location are extremely rude to movers everytime I go to this location a new staff member always seems to try and give me and my crew a hard time. Not recommding my clients to use this facility anymore.

Big loading bay, secure facility, temperature varies by about 10 degrees C in the building seasonally. Didn’t seem to mess any electronics up though. Elevator doors are 4ft wide. Sherry, bill and all staff in general are super helpful. Dope units at dope rates yo.

Excellent experience. The units are clean and secure. The location is convenient, but better priced than more central storage units in the city. The customer service is excellent. I would highly recommend!

I rented a unit about six months ago, and it was a really smooth experience, from the first tour of the facility, to signing up, and then using it to store and retrieve items. The access hours are great, and you can back your vehicle right up to the loading bay. Lots of dolleys available, in two different sizes, and lots of elevators for quick access to your floor. The facility is new and ultra clean, and very well lit, and everything uses your personal access code. It makes the process of accessing your unit so quick, literally in and out in minutes. I found the staff to be super professional, always helpful and courteous. Can't recommend this location highly enough.

Moved to Vancouver from eastern US with more stuff than we had room for. Able to line up storage at MLSSCD quickly and easily. Better rates than other facilities nearer town but not hard to get to. Building is clean and well kept - access is easy and always as promised. Have never felt it was crowded or a hassle. Great staff were clear about arrangements and flexible to work with. Overall fully satisfied. Would recommend to anyone.

We rented a storage space from Maple Leaf Self Storage for several years. The staff has always been easy and friendly to deal with, very efficient in dealing with any of our concerns, and they have gone out of their way to communicate any changes or notifications with us. Many thank to Sherry, Erin, and the entire staff.

Additionally, as far as I am aware, they have the only covered parking spaces for loading and unloading in the city. That has helped significantly in being able to work around Vancouver's wet days.

Absolutely amazing storage. We drove around to see other options and this one was the best. People there are also amazing. They gave us one extra day of storage for free when we made a mistake and scheduled our move on the first day of a new billing cycle.

Moving by definition is already a really stressful experience.

But it's the little things that really help take the edge off of things, and the people that work here offer that in spades.

From the very moment I entered, I was greeted with friendly staff and we started joking around right off the bat.

I never felt like just another customer.they made me feel like I was THE customer.

Everything was thoroughly explained to me and they made absolutely certain that I was okay with their protocols.

Of the hundred other things I have to worry about with regards to moving, I'm glad storage is no longer one of them.

Maple Leaf really helped me out of a pinch with storing my car. I had been put in bad way timing wise but luckily they had a spot available. Place is secure, every time I came to check on it, it was there just as I had left it. Everyone I dealt with was friendly and cordial.

The price isnt cheap but not only is it safe but you're guaranteed low activity so I never worried about anyone accidentally bashing my tail lights. Plus it's one of the few storage places I found that not only had parking but at least more affordable. Other places I saw would charge 500 and up.

If my current agreement doesn't pan out, I know that I can cone back here and know it's in very capable and dependable hands.

The staff at MLS at Commercial are amazing. They are friendly, helpful and always go the extra mile to assist. The facility is clean and efficient. This was the simplest process that I have ever encountered for getting a storage locker. Not only is the facility in Vancouver, well maintained and roomy halls to move your items from but they also have charming staff who are there to ensure you get the right locker for what your needs are. I would not hesitate to call them today for a quote. And with their deals going on they are a terrific option in Vancouver.

I have been renting a spot at Maple Leaf for 3 years and must say that it is very clean, convenient, and the staff is so very helpful.

Highly recommend! I picked this company and location because of how professional they are compared to other self storage places. The staff is very knowledgable and friendly. The building itself is concrete and all lockers are metal. The building is climate controlled, clean and very secure. Given the location, being clean and secure is very impressive and appreciated! Another bonus is that insurance is not really necessary, since the building is so secure and never burnin down, so you can save a tonne there.

I left a lot of belongings and family heirlooms there while in New Zealand for 18months and when I returned it was exactly as I left it, with no signs of pests or moisture etc. I'd highly recommend this place, you get what you pay for! Would give it more stars if I could!
