Marketa's Bed and Breakfast

I'm taking my first Xmas away from all the Traditional sense of the season. I would like to begin a new Chapter in my life. One that allows for more natural beauty and spontaneity to the season.

Great quiet location. Beautiful historic home. Hosts were very nice and the breakfast was perfect. Great location minutes from downtown, inner harbour, Beacon Hill Park, Fisherman's Wharf.

It is the perfect place in comfort and tranquility after a day walking along Dallas Dr, I feel like I slept at home. Breakfast is delicious and the service is very friendly. Check-in was simple, it's all a matter of following the instructions. The location is excellent.

We booked the Sunshine Room for a weekend away in Victoria and can't recommend staying at Marketa's enough! The room was clean, comfortable and romantic with a beautiful claw foot tub. Breakfast was delicious each morning and all the staff were helpful, courteous and kind.

This place checks all the boxes. Nice room! Great Breakfast! Friendly staff and Patrons! And close enough to walk to places in downtown Victoria!

I highly recommend Marketa and staff…hope to be back!

Our 1st stay at Marketa's but not our last! Built in 1912, the house has lots of character.and a few creaks.but offers History lovers the opportunity to stay in a quiet, friendly, walkable neighbourhood, with an abundance of colorful gardens. When you first arrive at Marketa's, you're greeted by friendly, welcoming staff. That warmth is evident during your entire stay. Thank you!
Our room, on the ground floor, had welcomed amenities and featured a French door to our own garden patio. Our Breakfast was superb! Several yummy choices on the menu and all accompanied by fresh fruit!

This place is truly special! Located perfectly to discover Victorias highlights by foot. The stuff is so friendly and hospitable, the rooms are unique and lovely and the breakfast is the bestest! Highly recommend this little gem of a B&B!

My partner and I stayed for 2 nights. The rooms are very clean and absolutely gorgeous. Bonus points if you are into Victorian era typa vibe! I wasn't keen on sharing the washroom with other guests but it was always cleaned after and I didn't have any bad experience using it! The staff are very friendly, and their breakfast meal is absolutely comforting! Makes you feel like you are at home.

Highly recommend this place and I would for sure come stay again!

The location is good. The house itself is cute, and breakfast was great. The breakfast staff were all very nice.

However, my room did not lock from the inside. As a solo female traveler, safety and security are incredibly important to me. I had to push a night stand in front of the door in order to feel comfortable enough to fall asleep with an unlocked door. When I mentioned it to staff, I felt like my concerns were brushed off and not heard.

I also received an email before I arrived that said it would be fine to stop by before my check-in time to drop off any luggage, but when I showed up to do that, I was treated like no one had ever done that before. I was reminded four times that I couldn’t check in at that time, but I had never asked to do so and stated over and over that I just wanted to drop off luggage. Their luggage storage room is simply the common room so it’s accessible to anyone staying there at any time. Not secure at all. When I returned later to actually check in, the person at the front desk was not particularly welcoming.

My room was a bit run down. The comforter looked old and was pilling badly. The pillows were incredibly uncomfortable.

Based on my experience, I cannot recommend staying here. The negatives for me outweighed any positives. However, since this is an old house, I assume every room is different, and I may have just gotten the worst one.

This victorian style house is everything we hoped it to be. The room was very beautifully decorated, comfortable and clean. The breakfast was the best! Eggs Benedict, eggs Florentine and pancakes were all beyond delicious. The staff is so, so friendly and made us feel right at home. The common room is super comfortable and also nicely decorated. Another venue we would liked to stay longer. The location is very convenient, within walking distance to Victoria downtown and very quiet at night.

Great food ^^ It was yummy and fresh. Server was very nice. She checked our coffee and juice every 5 mins. The one thing I don't like was the wall was too thin so I could hear the other guest's talk.

Marketa's B&B is charming with character, located in the quiet and lovely James Bay area. The rooms are clean and beds so comfortable! And the breakfast which is included with each stay is sooo delicious! Marketa as well as her staff serving the breakfast in the mornings are all very hospitable! I will be back for sure!

Located near parliament building. Quick access to fisherman’s wharf, downtown and all the go to places. Staff is pretty friendly and hospitable. Rooms are beautifully decorated, although beds could be a little un-comfortable. Breakfast is lovely.

Loved out stay, super easy walk to downtown and the host was super sweet! Breakfast was fantastic and prices are very reasonable.

Dirty and dingy. Sheets seemed used, complete with hairs. UGH! Never again. The hired help is very friendly, not so much the owner. Glad she was wise enough to hire personable staff. Very cheap towels, teas provided, etc.

Very nice experience at Marketa's B&B in the honeymoon bedroom! The location is great (downtown 5 min walk from the legislative assembly), the rooms are spacious, the decoration is well chosen, the breakfast is delicious and homemade, and the bed is comfortable. You will feel home. I definitely recommend.

It was a great cozy place, just a few steps away from Victoria downtown and many places of interest. Staff was super friendly. The breakfast was included, and it was delicious. Enjoyed our stay very much

Awesome friendly staff, great breakfast and really nice rooms. The location is downtown and a couple of blocks from the inner harbour, restaurants and entertainment. I highly recommend this place and it's always clean!

Amazing place to stay. We loved it. The staff are really friendly and the home is a well kept 100 yr plus old mansion so it has all kinds of character. Beautiful stay and great breakfast too! Would definitely recommend to anyone and we will definitely be going back
