We got our engagement and wedding bands here. Helpful, efficient and you know they appreciate your business when they actually recommend a less expensive wedding band to match your engagement ring that is more suited and not sell you the more expensive one you were looking at.

I recently had the pleasure of working with Lance and his team on a custom piece of jewelry. The piece was an anniversary present. The project involved deconstructing an heirloom ring and reconfiguring the gemstones into a pendant with multiple bezel settings. It was a complex piece and plans had to be modified as we went along. The final product is stunning and my wife was absolutely thrilled when I gave it to her. This is not the first time I have worked with Marsh and Sons. Their customer service and fair pricing is what brings me back. They have practical advice. Provided you have reasonable expectations and plan accordingly, they will deliver on time, and they will let you know what is and is not possible. I have no problem recommending Marsh and Sons for your jewelry needs.

I would be very wary of conducting business with this family; most especially Rita. I brought a gold bracelet to this store to have it resized. They said no problem and sent it off to a goldsmith, when I got it back they had damaged it. Rita immediately denied any responsibility and stated that this bracelet has simply experienced normal wear and tear. I then reminded her the bracelet was brand new and never worn. She then went on to tell me it's a poorly made bracelet despite that it cost $1500. This piece genuinely made anything in her store look like you could purchase it at Walmart. So, her tact is disgraceful and embarrassing. They charged me $140 to essentially damage a never worn bracelet. The workmanship was also subpar, but Rita thankfully let me know that they didn't do that. Where the goldsmith soldered you could see a bleb that had bled over onto the clasp.

This jewelry shop is more akin to a pawn shop that specializes in secondhand jewelry. Lance seems like a decent person but that's as far as one can go in regards to complimentary speech. Be very hesitant if you are to deal with this shop.

Although I appreciate you trying to save face and reputation you can't sidestep certain truths. Your "master" goldsmith worked on my bracelet, damaged it on the one side (likely with a clamp) and did poor work on the soldering. He then continued to package my item and returned it to you so as to give it to me - full charge.

Whomever you claim to have spoken to at the manufacturer stated they had no knowledge of your courteous call. The multinational store was gracious and gave me a full refund for the damage you and your business caused. You are not absolved from your incompetence, nor is your "master" goldsmith. If this piece was "wide and delicate" then you should have known better and not proceeded to charge me full price for poor workmanship.

I had a wedding band, engagement band made and later went back to make a family band (and add to it as my babies were born). I was looking for 19k, which many jewelers will not work with let alone supply. I came in with a whole bunch of photos I had saved from the many years I waited to become engaged (too many) and Lance was INCREDIBLE and so patient with me when it came to the fine details of all three rings construction. Not only is his knowledge of metals super, but his knowledge and supply of gems (for the family band) was superb. Trust me I asked him so many questions and the back and forth he must have hated, but my end result was gorgeous. Stunning. One of a kind. To this day, I get compliments almost daily. I take it back every few years to have it properly looked after, cleaned and buffed and they never disappoint. I live in Victoria, but after discussing the fact that I could have the stones and metal work made locally, by a proper craftsman and gemologist, I was sold. He is quality. My mom has also used him for her rings now also. Worth the drive all day long. I'd drive to Port Hardy to use him. Go for a visit and see for yourself!

Took my engagement ring in for a lost diamond. Lance was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Ended up replacing the lost diamond, plus another broken one, getting it resized, and fixing the prongs for much cheaper than I had anticipated. Thank you!

Wow, 5 stars for knowledge and customer service. Rita effortlessly transformed my diamond rings into my dream ring. Her years of experience were obvious and made it easy for me choose each detail with confidence. The setting enhances my diamond and it catches the light perfectly. Rita followed up at every step and even priortized the manufacturing, so my ring was ready faster than expected. I will definitely return to Marsh and Son as my go to jewellery store in the future.

I had a great experience selecting an engagement ring with Rita. I initially went into the store to get some information and was feeling pretty unknowledgeable about what to look for or consider in regards to engagement rings. Rita gave me all of the information I needed to understand and select a good ring setting. She then found me a diamond within my budget that far surpassed what I thought I would be able to get. My husband and I came to this shop after a bad experience in getting a custom ring created in Vancouver. After our first 10 minutes with Rita we absolutely appreciated her expertise, attention to detail and listening ear. She stated off the hop that if we put our trust in them we wouldn't be disappointed and it couldn't have been more true! Once submitting all of our information she told me it would be 2-3 weeks for the CAD creation of the ring and then another 2-3 weeks for the making of the ring itself. Not only did they accomplish all of this in the time they promised; they managed to do it over the Christmas and New Year rush and still have it finished on time!

My husband brought the ring home last night and it's the most stunning piece of jewellery I have. I am extremely grateful to Rita and the rest of the staff behind the scenes at Marsh & Sons. We will certainly be doing the rest of our jewellery business with them!

Lance Marsh is a master at his craft and it shines through at every meeting. His enthusiasm is true and genuine and that is why he is the best at what he does. This gem of a local business is well worth a visit.

Took a ring of my late father's to a number of jewelry stores here in Nanaimo to have it made into 3 rings for me and two of my sisters. Of the number of places I went, Marsh & Son were the most helpful and understanding of what I was hoping to give my sisters as Christmas presents. They preserved the essence of our Dad's ring and I know that it will touch my sisters hearts as it did mine.

They provided me updates while it was being made and when I picked it up, they even rushed to resize it for me with less than 24hr notice when I had a spontaneous proposal plan solidified.
