Maruhachi Ra-men Central Library

Business was great, I ordered and quickly they brought me ramen. Pork was the best I have ever had. I dropped my chopsticks and the staff quickly gave me a new pair. I also found heart shaped green onion in my ramen. The location was very close to where I was staying. I would definitely recommend this place if you are in town.

It's a good ramen place in Vancouver, I love the broth, highly recommend for anyone who doesn't like their ramen spicy.

Excellent ramen. They use chicken broth which we love. Order it with lemon and squeeze an as much as you’d like in! A delicious and healthy kick of vitamin c that is very soothing on cold Vancouver days. Service is consistently very good. Only downside is they use plastic for their takeout containers rather than paper soup bowls. And you usually need to wait in line. Would order here more often if they got more sustainable and healthier packaging options.

Two weeks after eating here as a part of our honeymoon, my wife and I can’t stop talking about just how good this ramen is. Best we’ve ever had. ABSOLUTELY get the cha-shu tamago.

Very fine food, nice service and good value for money the Laction is unfortunately a bit small and not quite as comfortable. But would come again.

We ordered chashu ramen and tan tan noodle. The ramen was ok, with a creamy and not excessively greasy chicken broth and tender chashu. Tan tan noodle was less impressive though. The taste was supposed to be aromatic but instead was just spicy and salty. What really annoyed us was the rice that accompanied the tan tan noodle (yes I was surprised to see rice being served along a noodle dish but it made sense as the noodle was quite salty), it was half-cooked and therefore tasted awful. Perhaps I am asking too much but for a restaurant with such good reviews it was quite a disappointing experience.

I had a fantastic experience at this ramen place, and I can't say enough about how great Chole, the manager, is! Her attention to detail, friendly demeanor, and dedication to ensuring customers have a delightful dining experience truly stood out. The ramen was delicious and the service was top-notch. I'll definitely be coming back thanks to Chole's excellent management skills.

The broth was good and not too salty. The noodles were not that great. While it is reviewed as one of Vancouver's best, I have only had one bowl of ramen in Vancouver so it is unfair to judge. I can however safely say that this is one of the slightly above average bowl of ramen I have eaten, quite far from the best

I have been going to maruhachi (formerly marutama) for years, the ramen never disappoints. I love the rich chicken broth. Try the aka ramen for a next level flavour experience.

It was good but is the high price warranted?

I really enjoyed the texture of the noodles. Finally ramen doesn't taste like instant noodles.

We arrived at 12: 30pm and were pleasantly surprised that there was no lineup. We were seated right away. Soon after we were seated, there was a lineup so I guess we were lucky and arrived at a good time. However, we saw that the lineup moved quite quickly so it didn’t seem too long of a wait for those in the lineup.

We ordered the Aka Ramen. The creamy chicken broth was so good. The chashu was tender and delicious. The seaweed was yummy and blended well with the soup. The egg was cooked perfectly. We both thoroughly enjoyed it.

After we were seated, we were asked to move to a different table so they could accommodate a larger party. We didn’t mind and liked our new corner table better.

Service was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We will definitely be back.

They do not allow you to bring any food or drinks into their restaurant, you cannot drink your bubble tea inside there but ramen is good

Consistently rich, silky and hearty ramen. Their seafood one is especially good - milky and full of flavours. Portions are quite reasonable for price. Service is attentive and quick. Their chicken broth has depth, and soup is not oily unlike other ramen shops. Quality has remained the same over several years; hence why they are always popular and constantly have traffic.

While not my favourite ramen I've ever had this was one of the best I've tried. The Tamago Ramen (Spicy) is a must have. The creamy chicken broth is so flavorful, I finished all the broth down to the bottom of the bowl
The gyozas were also a crowd favorite, I saw most tables ordering one or two servings.
The space has limited seating and if you're lucky you may find a table without a wait.

I remember it used to hv long queues but weirdly now there isnt any. That should have warned me before I enter. My order doesn't really hv much taste and they charge you for garlic that used to be free

Their ramen is out of this world, everyone knows that… but can we please talk about the Yaki cha-su and their Gyozas? ! Oh my word. Simple and common yet unmatched

Been here couple of times, first was couple years ago during pandemic, sadly their quality seemed to have gone slightly downhill, just doesn’t taste quite the same as before they changed their name.

The food came fast but that was the only good thing. Broth didn't taste like anything, unfortunately. Pork was dry and tasted old. Definitely not like Marutama before. There's so many other better ramen places in downtown.

Absolutely delicious ramen. I always get the Tamago Ramen and love adding in bamboo and woodear mushrooms. The way they do their their soft boiled eggs is good. I miss when their crispy garlic was free and on the table but unfortunately, it's now an added fee to get as a side. I still recommend getting the crispy garlic to top your ramen though! Highly recommend!

We really like the ramen shop. It hit the spot. Their maruhachi draft beer is a must try if you like beer.

Hearty meal, good portion sizes and quick service (when it's not too busy).

Very chicken-forward broth. Quite creamy, without being too fatty or oily. It feels like a pork bone broth (but chicken!) that's been cooking for 12 hours. Noodles were cooked well with a bit of bite. Chashu was packed with flavour. Seaweed was also an excellent addition and gave it a fresh accent. Overall, this was a very good bowl of ramen!

I get extra eggs on my ramen, it was my one of the best ramenya in Vancouver but the noodle texture was ok this time. It wasn’t special, but the soup is hot, which I love it.

The restaurant was not crowded around 17.30. The staff was friendly. The broth was flavored and tasty; noodles were thin and chewy; egg was a little overcooked.
