Mary Brown's Chicken

Pardon for the overdue review as it was holiday season and forgot to post this up. I dined in December 1,2023 with an acquaintance and was hankering to try their family meal. The portions are good but man inflation has taken a toll on most chicken restaurants in Canada. Still worth it and it felt good to dine in rather than to deal with takeout and eat in the cold.

This restaurant was a little busy so attentiveness was slightly off but that's okay because during the holiday season the most important thing is good delicious food to allay hunger pangs so one can refocus and continue on with their day. First time I've eaten in this chain but I was told by said acquaintance that this chain is super popular in Ontario especially for their gravy. I can definitely see that because the taste is phenomenal and those wedges were gone the next day!

Definitely need to come back here and dine again when I'm less rushed.

Decided to give Mary's another try after not returning year, I'll let you know how it is when I get my order.

Chicken so fresh they must hatch the eggs when you place your order

First time to visit and try MB and had not good experience. There were mistake and i had to wait again while other customer that was im ahead of them were already served and i heard no apology and they just didn't care what happen.: (

Love their food But DANG! EVERY single time we order from there, there's an item missing. Every single time. First time it was the pies missing, second time the Gravy, this time the coleslaw! My husband specially asked for coleslaw for me and they said yep comes with the box, he gets home. No coleslaw.

The crispy chicken was pretty basic. Not overly big either.
So a small, barley crispy chicken burger with no defined flavor.

They are very busy and I ordered a lot of food. Some was ok some was undercooked, some was almost raw.

Enjoyed Mary Browns for the 1st time last month with the family for takeout. It was really good, the quality of the burgers were nice and tasted good. I just wish the burgers were a little bigger. But overall impressed. And the establishment was really Clean I will be coming back!:)

Walking into Mary Brown's feels like walking into a lot of other similar businesses going for that "southern fried" feel. What makes Mary's special are the flavors. They are familiar yet distinguished with their own little spicy signatures. I enjoyed a Spicy Big Mary Sandwich, an order of waffle fries, and a side of fried pickles, all for about 16 bucks. The fries, while good, were nothing crazy. Top tier Fried Pickle Chips though (go with the spicy mayo dip, absolute fire). And the sandwich? Actually great! Could have used a little.more even seasoning but overall, well constructed and flavorful. Ya'll head on down to Mary Brown. She have ya comin back soon. Thanks to the excellent and welcoming staff as well.

Ordered Mary Browns for the first time last week. Was impressed with the quality of food and fast friendly service.
However a little disappointed in the size of the sandwiches for the price you pay. Wish they were a bit bigger. But overall alot better than Popeyes. I'll be going back!

As with all places.higher prices. Grilled chicken burger is very moist and solid thick portion of chicken. Crispy chicken available. Guys this is better that the K chicken burger.but you decide Try this place.wheelchair assessible washrooms! Eat in orctake out.

I walked into the restaurant and it was nice and clean. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The food I ordered didn't take too long to get and was rather tasty. One downside is the gravy isn't as good as some chicken places however it's nice to have a good Canadian food chain in the area.

When Mary Brown’s first opened, we were disappointed in the quality of food. The chicken and gravy was so salty that it deterred us from coming back. We noticed many others have left reviews about the seasoning as well. After some time, we decided to give this location a try again and wow, the saltiness of the chicken and gravy were perfect! We were pleasantly surprised and will be back again.

First time

Have been enjoying Mary Browns at this location since it opened.one thing we have noticed majorly is past 2-3 weeks the chicken burger patties are MAYBE half the size the used to be.best case scenario 2/3 original portion.worst case 1/3 the size.imagine paying the same price for 33% of the chicken on a burger we were getting less than a month ago? If this trend continues we're going back to Lees for good guys, sorry.

There is the phrase you miss 100% of the shots you don't take.
At Mary's, 100% of the time you order you get home and something isn't there.

Three strikes and yer done. My wallets closed. Anyone going there, tear apart your order and check it before leaving. Doesn't matter if it's slow or busy.

Mary Brown's is a step up from KFC. Aside from that, I felt the food and location was okay.

I had the basic chicken sandwich. It was a bit underseasoned. Next time I'll try one of the other options.

It's not a place I would crave but I would go back.

The staff were so lovely! Unfortunately that was the best thing about this restaurant. The chicken was overbreaded and absolutely tasteless. No seasoning at all! The gravy was just as bland and tasted like it came from a package.
Overpriced, terrible food that ended up in the garbage.

They have those really good wedge fries that disappeared off the market. The slightly breaded ones. Places have them, then either stop serving, or go put of business.
Yummy.

The chicken was good, but had to rate it one star as they charge extra if you ask for only dark meat. You normally get a drumstick and a breast with the 2 piece meal. If you ask for a drumstick and a thigh, or two drumsticks, it's an extra 50 cents. Why am I paying 50 cents more for dark meat. It's is less expensive and offers less meat than a breast/white meat pieces. It's like charging someone extra for switching from a large bottle of soda, to a smaller-sized soda from a fountain. As a principle, I cannot get behind this. One star.

Surprisingly quick service considered how busy the restaurant was when I went inside. The stuff seemed very nice and I was Presently surprised at how tasty the chicken was.will definitely have to try it again! If you like bold flavor then the Nashville wedges are definitely a must try.

Go to Lee’s instead.

Can not believe the price this establishment charges for 5 chicken tenders the size of my pinkie finger.

60$ for 10 chicken tenders, large popcorn chicken, wedge fries gravy and pre made Mac salad.

Equivalent at KFC 45$

Neither kfc or Mary browns comes close to Lee’s chicken.
Made fresh in store quality products and around the KFC pricing. Just down the rd from here and muuuch better. Local to the island family owned.

Not some washed up east coast wannabe.

The food is definitely good for a fast food style chicken restaurant. Nice flavor and super crisp coating on the meat, tasty fries/wedges. Everything was piping hot and FRESH. Beats the hell out of my last 2 KFC experiences. The real shining gem here at this location though is the staff. I had zero expectation of table service, I was waiting to have our order called out, yet our food was brought out to us and we were asked if we needed anything else before eating. Kind of awesome in fast food where half the time at other places, an order sits on the counter longer than it should before anyone calls it out. Then, another staff member came and cleared the table when we were finished. Friendly, efficient and thoughtful service. I'll be back to try some more!

From the moment that I walked into the restaurant, the staff were amazing. It was very clean in the dining room and the restroom. The food is absolutely wonderful. I'm so glad that we have this franchise in our city now.

Mary Browns chicken was ok, nothing special, descent food but nothing original or outstanding, same old chickrn fast food
Pricing was better than most but the service was amazing so? Worth a visit

I ordered 2 hours earlier and it was ready exactly to the minute. Super busy when I picked up but all was in control. Piping hot without grease or too much salt.
