They quoted me 3500 plus taxes for a new hot water tank. I asked if they could break down the price as to why it's so much and they said they couldn't, but that it's 1800 for labor and 1700 for parts. They couldn't elaborate on what the parts were and their prices.
I do understand that my old hot water tank was put in a tight spot when it was installed, and therefore it would be a bit of extra work to get in an out, but that doesn't excuse trying to gouge me THAT much, plus with no explanation or breakdown of costs.
I got the job done with another company for half of that price, including the other few minor plumbing issues I had as well, and they did a great job.

Ryan showed up and after a brief explanation from me what the problem was he diagnosed that either myself or my wife had turned the furnace switch off in our new place. Ryan offered to just pack up and leave without charge but I chose to have him check the system over while he was there. Ryan was informative and efficient and thorough. I highly recommend Mavco!

Our Strata had the vertical plumbing vents cleaned at our 37 unit condo today. The service was efficient and professional and the 3 techs on the job were friendly, professional and a pleasure to deal with.

I am more than happy with my experience with this company. Chris my installer was super friendly and got the job done quick. When I called back with a question later to the secretary he responded quickly as well. Not only was he friendly he was extremely informative about my new hot water tank and explained it's features without me asking. I will recommend services for anyone looking! Also to mention the secretary for the company was super friendly and courteous. Big thumbs up and thank you team!

They came and looked at my mom's furnace took it apart and left it that way. My mom followed up asking for a quote to repair and noone provided it. She then booked an appointment to put it back together if they were not going to quote it out. And she was not wanting to pay for the service as she was left without a working furnace, without a quote and without anybody really caring about her situation. To add insult to injury they canceled the appointment she had just made and did not inform her leaving her waiting for the repair man to show up. How disgusting is that for service? She will have to find she will have to find another company to perform the repairs for her but will now be more untrusting of the situation I suggest strongly that you do not use this company we will be following up with a complaint to whoever we find out is available to listen. I am disgusted right now at how my mother was treated and this company is very low for doing this to somebody that needed their help.
Well I did try calling you from Alberta Megan. I did not have an invoice to refer to as my mom got the work done and I didn't want to bother her while she was going through cancer treatments. Your receptionist however did not like my attitude and chose to hang up on me therefore enforcing the fact that your company sucks. For reference she was not willing to put me through without an invoice or anything even though I referred it as an online complaint I was following up to talk with Megan about as per your response. I said do I really need to discuss this with receptionist or could I just speak to Megan she would not put me through, told me I should not speak like I am and then hung up on me.

I Arrived at midnight from ALBERTA to find non functional faucets in my vacation cottage bathroom and kitchen. Reception - ARLENE - at MAVCO Plumbing - PENTICTON - promptly took all relevant details - late yesterday - AMANDA - this am - JULY 8th/2022 - phoned to confirm appointment.
GREG - the technician - was prompt and on time - 40 minutes North East of PENTICTON - rural area.
He was VERY PROFESSIONAL - KNOWLEDGEABLE - POLITE - FRIENDLY - and promptly repaired my water supply - on a FRIDAY afternoon.
He gave me good PREVENTATIVE advice for the future - on top of his repairs.
I’m meticulous and conservative in reviews.

Booked a furnace cleaning with CustomAir and Mavco technician showed up. Technician was prompt, polite and completed cleaning within the hour. Invoice arrived and I am charged for 1.5 hours. Emailed company to correct the call out time and was told that the extra 30 minutes was travel time. At no time was it discussed prior to the completion of the job that travel time would be included in their fee. I find this practice of billing customers without their consent to be criminal, especially from a company as large as CustomAir. Extremely dissatisfied with the customer service aspect from the billing department.

Id give a 0 * but i cant so here is a start not that they desrvre it. Broke a cartridge in my shower hand was quoted high prices then i was refused services because i didnt have a credit-card. I would not use this plumbing company!

During the extreme weather event last week of December 2021 Mavco responded to our buildings frozen and broken pipes, water meter, backflow valve and subsequently repaired all as well as installed a replacement hot water tank that was also damaged. Cory McGivern of Mavco as well as the numerous other onsite staff and office staff were very responsive, worked throughout a weekend to ensure water was restored to our building as quickly as possible. The damage was extensive and Mavco exceeded our expectations. Thank you to Cory and the Staff!

Described the service I needed and never received a callback. Poor customer service particularly when they have done work for me before. Never again after this last experience.

Called mavco to quote a a hot water tank upgrade from electric to gas instant hot water. Theyre initial response was quick and great. That's where they wanted to sell me on a new tank (I already own a unit). I was dealing with Lyle Amour in Penticton and said he'd just have to speak to his plumbing foreman about some more details. He said he'd contact me the next day, no response. I waited 9 days and emailed back to them. No response again. Waited another 5 days and still nothing. They didn't have the decency to say they're too busy to take on this job or to recommend another outfit. They lost interest as soon as they couldn't sell a new tank and mark it up. For service repair I don't believe their lack of professionalism coupled with their higher than average rate is worth your time.

Mavco plumbing is the company I used to replace my poly b plumbing. Their quote was very reasonable. The crew were very prompt and professional. They were in and out in a couple of days and cleaned up after themselves. I would highly recommend this company for any plumbing jobs. Lila mah, Kelowna.

The whole team are HEROS! They took our call at MIDNIGHT on a Saturday for a main water line leak, 14 HOMES in a strata without water, during 40c HEAT! They rushed to help us, and within no time had the line dug up and were working on the repair. A huge thanks from 14 grateful families.

Would have rated zero stars if it was an option.
First off if I realized these guys were associated with CustomAir I would not have used them to begin with - way over priced ($190/ hr. + call out +. Really?)
End of July 2020 I called because my heat pump lines were freezing. After some research I found that the most likely cause was a leak. A tech came out, couldn't find a leak, came back the next day and found that the Schrader valve wasn't tight enough. Refilled the refrigerant and pulled a vacuum. He said it wasn't as low as he'd like to see but good enough as it was consistent. Turns out it wasn't good enough. During the January cold snap, it was 12 degrees in the house for a couple days - my thinking was the size of the unit, BTUs, might be too small and not suspecting low refrigerant levels at that time. Come May & temperature hits 30 degrees, turned the A/C on and what do you know. Freezing Lines!
I called Mavco in which the rep said they could come out again but when I asked to make sure that it would be done under warranty as I wasn't going to pay another $1000 again for something that clearly was not fixed in the first place she said she would have to get it approved.
No word 3 weeks later so I called and got a response that their warranty on labour is only 30 days. I asked to speak with whoever would make that decision and Dave called back fairly quickly. After explaining everything and the fact the leak was never fixed in the first place all I got in response was talking in circles with no admittance of responsibility or even an attempt to help in any way (discounted rate, no call out fee, nothing). Was told that it could be a new leak and there are thousands of ways that it could leak; when asked he could only give me one other reason which wasn't even relevant for my unit. Needless to say they are in it for the upfront one time service calls and not interested in building customer relationships or interested in referrals.

I had them scheduled as a backup for a main drain problem that the city was called to rectify. City showed up first and fixed my blocked drain by flushing out their main drain line. The Mavco guy showed up, very nice and professional but he had nothing to fix. He checked my cleanout and said that everything was flowing and looked good. He was present for 10 minutes and I received a bill for a full hour plus a $25.00 truck charge. Total bill was just short of $140.00 for showing up. Billing said that there is nothing that they are able and or willing to do to appease me. Poor way to keep customers and service customers. I will never call and use, nor recommend Mavco to any of my friends and aquaintances. If anything I will make sure everyone will know of their greed and lack of customer care. A terrible way to do business, I didn’t expect it to be free but a reasonable charge would have been appropriate and good business to insure future service calls. Not ever again.

The technician was right on time and did a excellent job. A mistake was made on the invoice and as soon as I pointed it out it was corrected with no issues. Very professional and have always used Mavco for my plumbing and heating.

I dont know what kind of Mickey mouse operation you're running but how many times do I have to call to actually get someone to even call me back or god forbid actually send someone like you say you're going to? Dont waste your time calling these guys. Worst "service" I've ever received from a "professional " company

Today, we installed a new On-Demand Hot Water System. The people at Mavco’s front office who organized the work were friendly and professional, and always helpful. The young fellow who did the work really knew his stuff. He worked fast and efficiently and was very positive and polite. We couldn’t have asked for better service.

Great people always on time. Super helpful. Chantelle is always helpful in the office and Chris is a great onsite representative.

Very poor customer service. Concerned with poor flame on a Gas fireplace and a BBQ. Invoice me for checking pressures. Say its all good. (It wasn't) Have a boiler break down Feb 1st. Call the emergency line. They visit, and determine the problem. No parts until the following day. No follow up call. I call and I am told someone will get back to me, but nobody ever did. So I called another local firm. I have been an advocate for Mavco over the years but no more. I can not recommend them anymore!

We had a couple of minor sink/tap hookups done. One sink had the hot/cold backwards and the shower faucet is currently leaking.

If I could rate a zero I would. Can't complain about the service if there isn't any. Called to get a drop down hood fan installed and quote. Said they would call me and let me know when it could be done. Didn't hear back for a week. I called and left another message. 3 weeks is totally now, and still haven't heard anything. Can't comment on the quality of there work cause they wouldn't do any for me.

We have had Mavco to our house a number of times. Every one of their employees have been very skilled and super professional.

Was blown away by the efficiency and overall service of this company. They completed our commercial kitchen upgrades incredibly fast, and were a pleasure to communicate with. Five stars.

Mike from Mavco came, earlier than I expected, did a great job, not as expensive as I thought it would be. Would tell anyone, if you have plumbing problems, call Mavco!
