McDonald Beach Park

Great picnic area for the family, Excellent docking for your boat, clean highly recommended.

I recently utilized the boat launch at McDonald's Park and had a mixed experience. While the location offers convenient access to the river, the boat launch itself is in need of dredging. It's advisable to avoid launching during super low tides as it could pose difficulties. On the positive side, the bathrooms were clean and there was ample parking available. I also appreciated the fact that the area was never too crowded. Once on the water, it was a pleasant 15-minute boat ride down the river to reach the mouth. Overall, while the boat launch could use some improvement, McDonald's Park remains a decent option for those looking to embark on a river adventure out to the ocean.

There were so many dogs that are unleashed. My children felt uncomfortable due to that situation.

A great place for a long walk with the dogs and to meet other dog owners. Lots of parking and washrooms as well.

Found a lovely tree swing too.

Very nice and I will definitely keep going on walks and we will be there for a bike ride in the future

Very nice park if you have a furry friend with an off leash park plus a nice walk along the shores of the Fraser River it's a nice place to spend some time walking & enjoying nature.

Love coming here with my dog. There’s a lot of space to chill, run and swim. All the dogs there have always been friendly and owners alert and responsible!

Lots of parking and place to walk and picnic. Has a small beach area. Unleashed dogs are a nuisance as some owners are oblivious to this fact.

Water may not be really clean. But dogs always have fun here. This place is probably the best dog beach in great Vancouver.

One of the best offleash dog parks around. This is the only park I know of where you can let your dogs run free right out of the car.

This place is amazing! Such awesome views of the Fraser River and a great place to fish locally. There is a boat launch as well and a pay-by-the-day parking lot for the trailers and towing vehicles. Lots of regular parking also with nicely kept washrooms. There are picnic tables right on the causeway between the Boat-launch and the River. Some in shade and some in the sunshine. There is also a walking trail that runs along the River and its perfect for dogs to go for a swim and cool off.

Love this place! A little gem tucked away by the airport. Picnic tables along the water so you watch the boats go by. Lots of walking trash.lots of dogs. Arrive early for parking is limited. They do have lots of parking but it fills up fast.

Because the beach extends a long way up the river you can get a good workout walking in the soft sand.

Amazing park and place to walk your dog with decent boat launch. Horrible live-in caretaker. Grouchy old man who enjoys making others lives hell. Locked several cars and trucks with dogs and kids in the park for over 30 min while loudly arguing with drivers.

Lots of parking, open till 9pm at the moment. The beach is a long stretch along the water. Probably only 2-3 picnic tables along the whole area so if you are looking to sit down I'd bring lawn chairs or a blanket (unless you like to sit down on the logs, that works too).

Great Riverside park with lots of dog-off-leash area. Lots of birds. Good mountain views. Boat launch with oversized parking. Quite a few picnic tables, and lots of logs too sit on. Tons of parking.

Super awesome dog park with plenty of parking, grassy fields and a long stretch of beach for the dogs to play.

This spacious area is known for its off-leash dog beach hidden between the airport and outlet mall. While you might not think there’s any reason to drive out in this direction, your dog will be begging you to come back to enjoy a pleasant stroll and light swim.

We have picnicked and enjoyed the ambiance here over the years. Beside the boat launch there is always live entertainment and lots of delicious looking food being prepared. It can get a bit breezy. Plenty of parking (roll up your windows as it’s a bit dusty). This time we followed the river east and were pleasantly surprised by all the off leash happy dog activities. There are some very nice trails and smaller paths through the treed area. It’s about 3 km from the parking to the marsh at the end of the beach and back. Lots of cosy spots to relax along the way.

Don't bother trying to launch your boat during low-tide. It's basically impossible at this location. Parking lot is gravel and dusty.

Best off-leash dog park in Richmond by far. Dogs can enjoy the beach area and green space. Toilets available on site close to boat launch area. Some trails around the area too.

It's a beautiful park! My husband and I really enjoyed walking around to soak up the sights and sounds. Also if you love dogs - great place to be. Many dog owners bring their dogs here to run around off leash; they're quite entertaining to watch. Excited to come here during the summer for a picnic!

One of the nicest park along Fraser river in Richmond. I was there at sunset and it was an amazing view.

If you have a dog or you just love dogs, this is the best place in Richmond to enjoy the warm weather. We have so much fun every time we go to this off-leash beach. The sand is very soft and the water, while murky, is comfortable for you or your dogs to wade in. The stretch of beach is long, clean, and not very busy (by Richmond standards).
The sand is mixed with a lot of clay in some spots and can be quite slick, so make sure to watch your footing if the sand looks oddly wet. And if you pack a picnic for your day at the beach, just remember you might have a furry friend or five try to join you!

It was super quiet when I went on Saturday. It seems like a great place to have a picnic and there are trails along the river with small sandy beach. There is off leash area of the park so it is popular amongst the dog owners. There are boat launch areas too if you are into that sort of thing.

Nice off lease dog park, water is a little chilly but a great spot for the pooch to get out for a swim. Make sure you bring the sun screen.

Great little place for doggos to explore. Lots of room, all dog friendly. Water is a little quick, but manageable for the mutts.

This is dog beach heaven, best at low tide for an extra long walk to "pirate's Cove" at the east end of the beach.

Had a perfect spot for a simple family and friends picnic. Tables are clean. Washroom are clean as well.

Had such a fun time taking my girl here. Had forgotten about how great it is. Spent some good time on a walk and on a trail through the bush (don't be stationary, there's a lot of ant activity right now, not sure if fire ants), then found a log to sit on and read a book. Lots of passerby dogs gave me nose kisses and hellos.

It's one of the few off-leash dogs parks in Richmond. There're always dogs running on the beach and playing in the river. There's also a quiet coner for picnic, where dogs are either not welcome or must be on leash. Nice river and north mountain view.

My dog's fave off-leash park where there is an open field of grass that he can freely run and a long stretch of sandy beach shore where he can dig, dig, and dig some more. The other doggos and their humans who go there are also friendly and fun for him to play with.

Very good spot to launch your boat, first time here to launch a boat and was a breeze. Nice long dock to queue up on while others launch or bring their boats onshore.

Get the word out there is a tractor cutting everything down! Don't know why and it is in the open sand section.

Best Dog Park in the Lower Mainland. Grassy Field, treed paths, sandy beaches, access to River and water.

This is the ultimate dog off leash. The size is great, low tide days are amazing and majority of the dog owners are quite responsible and dogs are very well socialized. There is grass field and a beach front. The trails are on leash but lots of people go offleash, during the HOT days Keep in MIND FIRE ANTS. PEOPLE are warned to keep off trails during the summer months so you and your dog don't get attacked by them. When the tide is low you can go out to the end off the beach called "pirates Cove" indicated by a beautiful sign on a pole where you can teach your dog how to swim or socialize with the regular dog walkers or just even enjoy the time.alone with your dogs!

Love that you have everything here; big grass field, trails through brush and sandy beach along river. My dogs love it here.
