It's McDonald's. What do you expect? Food is decent. Service, well, usually they ignore you. Kids love it though

Sooooo many mistakes from this location but the staff are usually friendly and I know mistakes are easy when it’s always busy; although I’m usually asked to pay a second time for a correct order.when correct, the coffee especially is super good!

No matter how often I stop in or which McDonalds I visit they will make a mistake. I stop for the coffee but I will grab breakfast for my crew members and even though I ask I will take the e transfer 30 seconds to search the bag to be sure the contents of my bag match my order. Now, in all fairness, the employees are young people in their first position of responsibility and management should recognize this and put a comptroller at the window to assure they get the order correct. Also the crispy chicken wrap is very tasty and a good size.

I was running late this morning and starving missed breakfast at home so picked up a toasted bagel with cream cheese. It was so good

The young lady who took our order (I think her name was Teddy) what a friendly person.

She was clearly busy and some customers were being a$$hats and getting rude with her. She brushed it off and kept moving the line along the best she could.

My friend tipped her and her reaction was so endearing.

One of the only McDonald’s locations that consistently serve FRESH fries with every order I’ve placed there. Restaurant is always presentable clean and the staff work efficiently. This is one of the island’s best locations by my opinion.

How about putting up a big sign somewhere that says you guys decided to no longer operate 24 hours? It's a real kick in the nuts to get off work at 3: 00 in the morning, starving and then spot the big bright open 24-hour signs only to find out your closed after reefing on the doors, waving to the workers inside. Only for them to point out a small paper sign on the inside of the door, small font saying hours have changed.

The most disgusting filet o fish I've ever had, buns were dry instead of steamed and the fish patties were rubbery and chewy as though they had been in the warmer for hours. DISGUSTING!

Incompetent. Ordered a large double quarter pounder meal and received a regular big mac combo after waiting a full 20 minutes and they even confirmed the what I ordered before handing me the wrong order.

Like any service job these days, it's sometimes great, and sometimes way below what you'd expect, but time's are a changing.

This is the worst drive thru in town. Rude employees that can't understand you. Screw up order after order. Never mind they can't ever be open in the mornings. Maybe make the older blonde lady a Manger as she's the only one there with an idea of how to run this place.

I work night shuft and was expecting a meal after work so i went to the mcdonalds on bowen at 1am just to sit in the drive thru for 15 min being told that shes to busy i piped up cause im hungry after my shift and said she wasnt gonna serve me so im done witht his service! WHO EVER WORKS NIGHT SHIFT ON FEBURARY 18th needs to be terminated their customer servicer is WEAK! IVE BEEN TRYING TO CALL THE BUSINESS BUT THEY TAKE THE PHONE OFF THE HOOK CAUSE THEY CANT ANSWER!

I find this location which is very busy has a huge staff turnover. The result is missed or incorrect items and frustrated customers. Always check your order before you leave the window.
Also it has been said by customers they find they are waiting for their orders while staff is focusing on deliveries by skip the dishes or others.

Ordered one junior chicken and one double cheese. They gave me one cheese burger with the the junior chicken warp paper on it and a double cheese burger without cheese. What the hall is going on here?

They seem to focus on drive thru more than in store dining, waited a long time for food and it was cold

We have been going to McDonald's for cones for at least 6 years and in all that time, it has been 5 swirls/twists. It says this on line and I checked with two other McDonald's in Nanaimo and they both said 5 twists. All State 5 swirls. Well this night, when asked to remake the cones correctly, the Thursday evening manager at Bowen Rd McDonald's refused to remake our cones and said it was 3. I suggested she double check that fact. We were asked to leave. We went to another McDonald's and received our cones the correct size.

The manager made no effort to find out the facts and instead sent us alway. Almost with a refund.

I do not recommend this McDonald's on a Thursday night as the manager does not have all the facts of her job. She needs to be retrained as she neither knows her job or how to treat customers.

Awful! Mess up the order almost everytime! Only 2 staff members there that Have been nice to me.

Unbelievably brutal service
got to the drive thru, had one car ahead of me, 4 total cars, figured it would go quick. Boy was I wrong.was asked to wait, then watched 2 cars go through the other ordering lane. Finally got to order, ordered 2 chicken mcgriddles and a peppermint mocha. Was told that the mocha was unavailable.got to the pay window, paid with debit for the 2 mcgriddles.
Got to the pickup window, confirmed order, was asked to wait in reserved 2. Parked, proceeded to wait for approx 8 minutes. Finally had someone come to my vehicle with my cash refund, no explanation or communication. This is brutal and unacceptable. I will now be going to any other option besides mcdonalds, this is the third time I have had issues with this mcdonalds location. Lack of communication, Lack of product.resulting in Lack of future customer. Good Job.

One of the better McDonald’s in town, fast and mostly friendly customer service, I would go out of my way to come here if I decided McDonald’s is what I wanted.

Very rude the staff kick me out of McDonald's because I had tim Horton even tho i bought coffee even though I purchased McDonald's goods and ordered the food at the McDonald's I only had the coffee from Tim Hortons on me at the table along with this stuff that I purchased at the McDonald's I shouldn't have been kicked out since I was a paid customer

Ordered 7 Sausage and egg Mc Muffins. They didn't put an egg on ANY of them. When I called to complain they said they only charged me for sausage (no egg) McMuffins. That's not what I ordered. Shame, I was trying to treat my staff mates. No offer to make it right. That's what happens with a 12 yr old manager.

So 4th to this specific McD's this month. Each time Ive ordered Ice tea with my combo and it legit tastes like water no tea. Literally my water at home tastes better. My girlfriend also enjoys her ice tea and we've now been screwed for 8 ice teas. Figured the ice tea situation would improve so ive spaced my visits a week apart. I write this tonight. Tomorrow im going in and expecting compensation.

The young lady that's on late at night is always so friendly. The food is decent for the most part, but the wait can be long and the late night hours they are open are unpredictable.

I'm an expresso alcoholic. McDonald's makes the best espressos on the planet in my humble opinion. I'm an addict. I order two or three double expressos with one cream everyday. It's like hot liquid dark chocolate. I'm in my late fifties and I can still remember my first Big Mac when I was about five years old and I thought it was the greatest taste ever. So every now and again I'll order one and it takes me back to that beautiful place.

Horrible this is my meal. After ordering a poutine and watching it sit open for flies to land on they suddenly weren't able to give me a poutine. Did not get the difference back $$ and didn't fill up anything. Horrible

They messed up my order by adding condiments to two plain burgers, then tried to hide their mistake by scraping off the condiments and adding extra cheese slices.

Dropped in to try the new dipping sauces and I was extremely impressed. The store, team leads and crew were all very clean, pleasant and presentable. I haven’t seen a McDonalds that ship-shape since I worked at a location 18 years ago. Friendly and quick service, definitely the best McD experience I’ve had in a LONG time.

Service is good compared to other McDonald’s in town. Especially the night staff are great! Food is good a fast. Busy place day or night. Not an ideal part of town but the people are harmless. Easy access in and out. Inside the restaurant isn’t always the cleanest but for the business of the place I can understand. Overall good for what it is. I often come to this location as it is still 24 hours and they have rarely screwed up my order.

This is a great place to sit and have a bite to eat and work on your computer for a short time even do your homework or just a family outing

Didn't stir iced coffee, sugar sitting on the bottom, wouldn't take it and stir it so gave my a spoon to do it myself vs just taking it and doing what there paid to do

I ordered a 20 package meal of "mcnuggetts", and a cheese burger. The bloody thing blew up at the crosswalk. After a lil' tiff the manager they fully replaced my meal. Very satisfied customer

The location on Bowen screw up my order every morning without fail, I've decided to stop going as
driving the extra 10 minutes to the other location just to get the food I asked for the first time correct is well worth it in my opinion. They should rehire at this location with staff that actually know how to work at a fast food place or better yet care about the business! I've done it and I know it's not that hard, I have no idea why you continuosly mess up the same easy order every morning, you'd think after me making you correct it each time you would finally figure out how to do your jobs properly. Would not recommend definitely needs new management as well.

It’s not hyperbole when I say I have had a problem with my order every single time I have gone here. It’s honestly amazing that’s even possible. I now drive to the further one just to avoid this terrible McDonald’s.

This is the worst location in nanaimo period! The manager is unprofessional and will completely mess up your food and argue with you about it and then will mess it up again. The staff is also unpleasant and unprofessional and speaks poorly about mcdonalds loudly while working. GO TO ANY OTHER LOCATION trust me.

Service was absolutely horrible. There was a person waiting ahead of me, and not being served
While there were 3 or 4 employees just standing around doing nothing. I had to ask rather loudly if they were ever going to take our order. At that point the employees that were standing around kind of looked like deer caught in headlights, and just looked stunned. The women who was in front of me thanked me, as she was too shy to do anything. I left, as I did not want to spend my $$ there. Hopefully Management reads this, and learns to manage their employees a lot better.

Sitting here while drive thru is open apparently all lights are on yet myself and 6 other people have been unable to get served. Says 24hr drive thru. Not a person would communicate with us. Very upset and not going to rely on this location to be open again.

So rude and abusive staff! Doesn’t know how to deal with customers. Worst customer experience I have ever had. I was waiting in drive-thru to get my order and I asked the guy very politely how long it going to take for my order and he replied me so rudely.

Very dirty! All the tables were not clean. After guests left, no any staff clean any tables.

Literally almost an hour through the drive through, also was told they were only doing lunch options even though they literally claim to have all day breakfast. Tried to order a snack wrap and was told they didn't have those either. Person who took our order also was very short and rude. When we got to the window, the guy was not in uniform (regular casual clothing) and immediately handed us the POS. After waiting for an hour, our order came through and was ice cold. We asked for at least the fries to be remade (asked for unsalted, got salted, and were cold), and seemed surprised we wanted them remade. After waiting another half hour we got our remade fries, which were hard as a rock. He left the window immediately after handing it to us. We also did not receive our receipt so we cannot submit a formal complaint. I get that it's McDonald's but come on.

Always find that this location is busy with customers yet they are efficient and orderly with maintaning cleanliness and keeping the orders in a realistic time limit.

I had a big breakfast this morning it wasn't very good. The sausage was an 1/8 of an inch thick, Come on guys. Anyways I have had breakfast there once in a while and either the bisquet was old and cooked to much or the bisquet was small. To me that was rediculus anyways I am not impressed, how cheap can u go.

Awful customer service and consistently provides inadequate customer experience. Consistent inability to fulfill a standard order. I've been forced to choose an alternate fast food place on numerous occasions because "they are only serving drinks" or "an item is not currently available". The wait time is consistently absurd. I always end up with the reason for coming there never getting fulfilled. This morning while pulled over to the side to check out their mobile app and place an order, 2 employees came out and asked me to move in anticipation of their drive thru getting busy. I was not blocking the drive thru and was in fact the only customer parked there. The so called busy rush he spoke of never came either, as I took the time to park in the lot across the way to finally file a complaint about the multiple occasions I've had awful experiences there.

Flood your food with ketchup and sauces so bad everything is wet

Poor service, I wait for 20 mins- 30 mins when its suppose to be a fast food restaurant. I have been to this McDonald's multiple times and they have almost always screwed up mine or someone i knows orders. I probably wont be going here again because of this. I know you can call and they will talk to you about refund or give you a new order but i would like is for my food to be ready sooner or them to talk to me and not to screw up so many times. A few times is different then almost every time. I do not recommend going to this McDonald's.

Couldn’t get any slower if they tried. Half the time they can’t understand what your saying. Waited more than 15 minutes for coffee in drive-through more than once. If you go around 5am you can’t get food for as long as 1/2 hour because they claim they are switching to breakfast grills.

Long wait at drive through because once window didn't have a payment machine.

Order double quater pounder, got a single quater pounder with cold shoe leather meat. Fries were old as well.

This location makes mistakes all the time.

Pancakes were hard at the edges, probably sat for a while. Cashier was more interested in chatting with coworkers than listening to my order. Had to interrupt her twice while placing order. Other than that, it was good.

I absolutely love McDonald's icecream cones vanilla. 1 dollar and 6 cents. I grab one every time I drive by McDonald's. It doesn't matter if its 7am or 7pm I stop. Or if I have stopped once or twice already dont matter at all. I'm a stopping again. I'm loving it butupbumpbumbin McDonald's.

I've ordered 2 times from this location, only to be disappointed. First order I got a cold burger, had onions which I asked for none, and my fries were ice cold.

Afew days later I try again, and I ordered 2 fries, only to have them come half empty! I order large fries, not a small in a large container. By far the worst MC Donald's ever. Highly recommend never going here or ordering from here!

I just have a suggestion when I order a meal and icecream can you not give me my icecream until my meal is ready so it doesn't melt before I get to eat it waited 5 minutes for filet a fish it is not the wait it is the fact my icecream was melted

I think this place is kinda self explanatory, don't know if the icecream machine works or not though.

Its McDonald's. What more can be said, I only go here if I'm in a rush and want something quick. Unfortunately, its not always "fast" food. I once waited 20 minutes for an iced coffee, other times they didn't get my order right. But I cant complain, it's a busy location and not managed very well. On the plus side, if you're eating alone, you can always count on a fly showing up and keep you company ;)

It's exactly what you expect. It's ok, but not delicious. The staff is acceptable, but not outstanding.

Staffing seems to be a concern. Also training on promos seems to be nil. Roughly 80% of the time there are mistakes.

A fat kid with wide glasses stole my shoelaces when I was sleeping on the bench outside, I whole week was ruined worst day of my life.

I went this location for reading and chatting with friend many times, beacuse it closes to the place I live, I felt relax and enjoy the time. But since couple weeks a ago, I was very uncomfortable to be questioned if I refilled my coffee twice (I understand the police and most of time I don't refill, be honest, I don't take too much coffee daily) or if I took a table for too long even when 2/3 table is empty.most of the stuffs are very nice, but just few of them, I felt they are not patient and respectful to the customers.

Its McDonald's. You get what you expect. No complaints about this location. It was as good as it can be!
