McDonald's

My husband and I very rarely eat at McDonald's, as we find it quite expensive. We went today as we received the McDonald's coupon book in the mail, and we haven't been for quite a while. However, even with a coupon for our " 2 can dine meal, " it came to just under $18.00. We didn't have anything extra, so the total was with the coupon and applicable tax. The area where the employees were assembling the burgers was in plain sight. Watching them put together our burgers, I noticed that NOT one employee handling food was wearing gloves. I was shocked! And upset that in this day and age, especially having gone through Co-vid, you would think that food safety gloves are absolutely mandatory! I could see them handling every ingredient that went into our burger. The bun, then the meat patties, which the employee took out of the heating machine. He then placed the pattie on the bun and then touched it with his fingers (I think to check the warmth of the patties) as he then picked up the patties and returned them to the heating compartment, He continued to assemble the remaining ingredients on the bun; lettuce, pickles and onions all with bare hands. Once the patties were given more heating time (again tested with bare fingers for proper warmth), the additional sauce and cheese were added to finish it off. I really wondered whether I should've complained then and there and walked away from my order, but I took it and hoped for the best. However, it's been really bothering me that there was such a lack of food safety, as wearing gloves while handling food should be mandatory!
Last but not least, the burgers were terrible, the meat patties tasted old, were dried out, the pickles and onions were barely there, and the Ketchup was about the size of a quarter. The cheese, for whatever reason, was a gooey smeared slice of something orange, as it was completely tasteless. Unfortunately, nothing tasted good, it was probably the worst burger I've ever had. It'll be a long time before we go to McDonald's again, unless it's for the fries, as they were really good.

Oof. Might be one of the worst McDonalds experiences I’ve ever had. Will not be back. Staff were decently friendly, and i assume whoever owns or operates this establishment has responsibility for this subpar experience. Not only did we get the completely wrong order (ordered 2 large cokes, 2 cheeseburgers, and a bottle of water because we were not allowed to ask for a cup of water, even though we asked if we could pay for the cup)
Instead we got a fries and the water and were promptly dismissed from the drive thru. The fact that we weren’t even allowed a cup of water, which was necessary for accessibility reasons, sucked: (made me sad

They gave me the wrong dipping sauce and made my iced coffee too creamy medium fries were also barely full.could’ve got a small and i would’ve had the same amount.wait time was too long for such a small order

Haven’t been here in awhile because it’s gotten so bad but grabbed some breakfast today and there was egg shells in my egg McMuffin. We ordered a bagel BELT and was given an egg McMuffin instead- didn’t notice until we were already home. We paid for sauce packets (which is just ridiculous) and they didn’t even put them it in the bag! Why charge people for sauce packets if your not even going to give them to me!? ! Don’t recommend.

I stopped on my way from Campbell River to Nanaimo for a quick bite and to use the restroom. The staff was rude and dismissive, especially the guy who seemed to be the lead. If all the facilities at the site are not available to the public, do not sell food, period. Please hire staff that is courteous and professional, and not in an absolute hurry to shut down the place and rush home. It is a business in the hospitality sector, is it not? Perhaps I am mistaken. If shutting down on time is such a priority and a prerogative? Do not let customers in 15-20 minutes prior to closing time. Food was bought, and I chose not to argue, this review is the feedback.

My son is a big fan of the egg McMuffin with sausage and I like it as well. I'm a fan of the fruit and fibre muffins.and my son likes them as well

The atmosphere of this McDonald's is definitely classier than one might expect. The service was great and the food, well its McDonald's after all.

Best McDonald’s experience. Hot food, friendly, efficient service and nothing was missed or out of stock.

They are getting better again, but staff can be short woth you or cut you off in the middle of a sentence

HEALTH HAZARD DONT GO HERE, They are extremely dirty and rude here, the workers swear at customers and dont wash there hands, you will never get your food made properly and from other reviews and pictures ive seen they have no proper managment and sell RAW BURGERS and sell drinks out of a MOLDY machine. Dont go here for your own safety.

The man working at this McDonald’s as i write this is a food service hero. Line is packed it’s like 1 am and my dude is hustling. Outstanding service.

There was this really nice guy named Marshall at the window! Best Employee at the establishment!

Usually good service, would do wwll to remind the kids that work their that the customer is always right, even when they are not and they should learn to smile and be polite even when the PAYiNG customer is not. This is what YOU are being paid for, customer service. These people and their friends will return to spend more money. Your bosses will love you for it.

Went specifically for the indoor playground but didn't know it was closed until we ordered paid and sat down near the play place and seen the sign on the door. Maybe some sort of notice outside the building or on the door or at the till would have been nice.

8 cars takes 2 or 15 minutes. 70% chance your coffee isn't actually stirred, chicken nuggets are 5 fresh 5 old, you can really tell when they refry them because its pike eating a plank of wood.

Service was bad. Management belittling young staff members. I was embarrassed for the management as their inability to lead shone through

A very good and nice family restaurant with very very good tasting and very yummy food and very good hardworking loyal caring and good hearted staff and 100% good customer service and a very safe and clean restaurant with very strict COVID-19 safety rules and the drive thru is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week all year.

I ordered thru Skip the dishes. The order was wrong. I ordered a burger and it said burger on the boxm but was chicken. I ordered a grilled chicken wrap, but got crispy chicken. You couldnt tell unless you bit into it. I ordered a vanulla shake and got strawberry though it looked white. They got the fries, app, e pie and donuts and a drink right. Now the total was 48.00. Skip gives 24.00 back, so what they did get right cost me 24.00. McDonals Manager says, oh sorry, just reorder. Why are we paying for their mistakes. Delivery and taxes.

I get it, it’s a McDonald’s, but at the end of the day, a coffee I order at 9: 40 should not be hot enough to still drink at noon. My tongue is burnt, I can’t feel or taste anything. I’m just glad I don’t spill it on myself

Edit, 24 hours later, I literally have a blister on my damn tongue. McDonald’s coffee used to be a staple of road trips, 100% re thinking this

This McDonald's isn't actually that bad, they always seem to get my orders right but sometimes the burgers can be dry.

Most dirty mcdonald ever seen. Signs on table says clean and sanitized but there is ketchup on the surface. Floors messy and dirty.

Just went through the drive through ordered 2 mcchicken meals, big mac meal, individual Mcchicken.they forgot one mcchicken and everything in the bag was cold when I got. Place has been struggling for years anytime you order more than 2 coffee your order will be wrong. For years Mcdonalds has gone out of their way to make sure we all know it's very important to them that their customers get a consistent experience every time they spend their money there I have to say theses guys have nailed it down hard. Never been anywhere that disappointed me as consistently as this location.

Good food good service and good covid 19 safety protocols and staff are always friendly and hard working and restaurant is always clean.

Always a consistently great coffee. I am amazed how much better their coffee has become over the years. I avoid Tim Horton's coffee nowadays as a rule and go to McDonald's when on the road.

The food is nice but everytime i go I swear the service gets even slower and they often mess up my order

I came twice on was last week around 12.or 1 they say, not able to take order. Because of system changing. I came in tonight around 3.05 am, Nov. 15 they told me same thing. COULD PLEASE! TELL WHAT TIME YOU UPDATE YOUR SYSTEM SO THAT WE WILL NOT waste our time to came from comox for food. Please!

So I went through the drive through of this mcdonalds like do every day the employees are the best and I appreciate all of them today is dec. 6 2029 at 11: 50 am the manager should be removed from his position I go there every day for my coffee we are in the middle of a pandemic he is handling people's food with his bare hands he sneezed on my kids orange juice lid when I asked him to please Putin gloves and get me a new orange juice he refused to this man manager should be removed from the mcdonalds management team

Its a large McDonald's, what more to say, its a great example of what McDonald's wants its brand to be, if you want McDonald's, go to this one

Food was not assemble right my Pickel and my sauce was not Evan in the burger old meat like it was dried befor serving

Food and cleanliness are always dependable. The place to go when your family needs a recharge after a pukey car ride.

Best McDonald's that I have been to in a long time. Covid precautions are in place, service was good and food tasted great.

The burgers are really good but they made the Big Mac way smaller (not just this location) and the fries are always undercooked whenever I come here parking is good and rarely busy when you go inside but the drive thru is mostly always busy

Been twice in the last little while and both times the orders were wrong and or missing something. Today it was the 3 half fries I got in place of the 2 large and 2 medium fries I had ordered and no tomatoes on the blt burgers. Last time the blt burger was missing the blt portion of it. Wont be going back.

Had the Scotch bonnet chicken sandwich. It was almost spicy. Can't wait for the ghost Pepper sandwich.

Went through drive thru around midnight April 13-14 and just needed a large cup of water to drink and they refused saying 'you need to order something first sir'. My order is water? They flat out refused unless I spent money and offered to pay for the cup which they didnt want, so I ordered a mcdouble and, a large cup of water, then he tells me that they can only give small cups out for water?
I took my business elsewhere.
Been to dozens of McDonald's and ordered water with no issues before-

Got unsalted fries, but didn't bother me as much as the long hair in my fries. Next day driving by I just stopped to look if they even wear a hairnet or not and the answer is No

Just experienced the WORST customer service ever. Promotion posted on Drive-Thru menu board - buy one McFlurry, second one free. When I tried to pay for my order, I was charged full price. Cashier called for someone to comp the free McFlurry but the person that came to her aid, told me the promo was over. I suggested he take down the misleading sign and asked, again, if he would honour the posted sale. His reply "that sale is over". I cancelled my whole order and left. Like I said, WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. I will NEVER return to that location. I will take my business where it is appreciated.

25 minutes in the drive-through line trying to get 2 orders of fries. Emphasis on the TRYING as they ended up giving us 1 small fry and 1 quarter pounder. How can they not have a system in place to read the order to the customer as they hand it through the window? The worst.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Every Single Time we go through drive through they forget something. One time I ordered pancakes for my daughter, we left port and when I opened the bag they Forgot the pancakes! How!?
I ordered a coke to share with my fiance. There was no coke flavor! Just a cup Filled with ice and carbonated stuff.

The service at the McDonald’s on Ryan Road is not up to par. It’s slow, not prepared for rush hour. On Friday a friend and I went. I ordered first and he ordered after. There were a couple of people ahead of me and three or four behind me. All behind me were served including my friend. 16 minutes later I’m still waiting. This MacDonalds is either understaffed or not organized for servicing the public. My friend finished his dinner and I’m still waiting. I finally went up and asked for my drink. I did say I’d been waiting 16 minutes. (according to my receipt). Another 5 minutes went by and I asked for a refund. Which I was given and I left. I thought I’d try drive-through tonight and again there was a wait for food. What is going on with this MacDonald’s. Either hire more people for the rush hours or teach the staff to be more on the ball. And before you question me. I used to work at Courtenay and Walmart MacDonald’s a number of years ago. And it’s about timing and organization and making sure the teenagers can work and talk at the same time. This includes managers too

I like the taste of the food, but the cost keeps increasing (except for specials) and you are more often asked to wait for an order (up to 8 minutes if they need to grill a chicken breast). Not really "fast food" anymore.

Getting to be ridiculous priced. $4 for a med milkshake. Should have gone to dairy queen at least I could have had real banana icecream

Good food. The washrooms could be cleaner. And the play area has one dead end tube. This allows one kid to trap another - not a good thing.

It is one of the dirtiest restaurants I've ever been to. The garbage was overflowing, there was pop all over the counter and food scraps all over the floor.

Usually, I absolutely hate this McDonald’s. I used to work here, management is horrible. Drive thru is always slow, and the fries are always too salty. However my faith was brought back today. A young man named Austin had such amazing customer service skills I was absolutely blown away. Promotion or raise id say!

The only thing keeping the cliffe location going is price 3/5 order is incorrect and can almost always bank on having to pull over and wait

I ordered a medium coffee, a double cheese burger and a chipotle wrap with added Thai sauce, I was denied in the store saying that they don't do Thai sauce anymore. How is this possible? My friend ordered the same wrap, he got it in his and a few hours after I order the same, and I get denied with a non - sensible reason. My order number was 217, dated June, 30th 2019. Time was around 2 pm.
