It's pretty much Army & Navy as you remember it. The food section has declined a bit.

This place is a little diamond in the rough so many deals and so many products can spend hours in ther place is clean friendly staff and welcoming nice lighting and wouldn't believe that sell furniture there as well the clothing selection is huge from men's to women's to children's they even have camping items and huge selection for fishing from rods to lures definitely a spot to check out if you are in Langley

Prices are still high, and nobody asked if I wanted help. The cashiers all look sad and / or angry. No smiles, no conversation. Pleasant niceties hi and have a good day.

So McFrugal's is part of the same company as Fields, which still operates in more rural locations in BC such as Salt Spring Island, Gibsons or Lake Cowichan. Which means all the Fields cast offs end up at this location or the one near Guildford Town centre.

I saw more than a few Fields tags with no apparent markdowns, which really makes me question the validity of the name McFrugal's Discount outlet. Currently, they also seem to have a bunch of Cotton Ginny's old stock in the women's department, which is marked down by quite a bit, they were Reitmans level expensive way back when. They have a grocery section, but no discounts to be had there and you're better off going for that if you like seasonal or limited time flavors such as Red and white Smarties or the special Lay's flavors (roast chicken or fries and gravy, currently). They also have fishing and camping gear, but I'm clueless about pricing in that department. And home goods, but I've seen better deals on Amazon or at Walmart/Superstore on bigger, well-trusted brands.

My verdict is that if you're looking for deals, you're better off hunting through Talize/Value village/the other thrift stores or driving a few extra minutes to Walmart/Superstore as there's none to be had here unless you liked shopping at Cotton Ginny years ago.

Rude staff. No manners, treat you like a criminal or maybe the are just stupid. The cashier never said hello, can I help you, please and thank you or anything like that. Tills are set up weird. After you go through the maze you end up on the wrong side of the till and the cashier yelled at me "other side! ". Excuse me!? Expired products. Not really any deals. One clerk was talking to another customer, a person of color like a misbehaving child. They don't seem to value their customers.

Never heard of this store before but they have the best seasonal decor. You need about 3 hours to check out the whole store, huge store

Nice people.but they followed me around for hours! I ended up leaving with only purchasing a lip balm because they had me so stressed out that I couldn't even see straight.i had left a shirt on top of my buggy and because they had been obsessively following me around for hours I forgot about it so when I left ihad completely forgotten about the item.but not them, oh boy oh boy, they were bound and determined to catch me with something.tje whole thing was so very stressful and I will never return to this store without company

Not everything is a deal here, for example they had wrangler jeans for $6 more than wal mart, still worth going to but don’t assume that everything is cheaper

Overpriced - has the same vibe as the army and navy that used to be in that location. I believe they must have taken over their inventory.

Foodstuffs you could probably get everything cheaper at superstore, at least the items I checked out.

Not for me. Won't go back. I didn't see any deals, just lots of overpriced low quality stuff.

I mostly go for the deals on food but more often than not I get sucked into the fishing section and pay full price for something.

Big store. You need lots of time to look for bargains. Some items I found looked used. Some deals but some items overpriced. Kind of like a thrift store. Found what I needed though and reasonably priced.

In place of the old army & navy.prices are okay.but I mainly go for the fishing gear cause they usually have what I need in stock.

Sometimes you can find there very good clothes and very cheap. They have very good selection of working clothes and everything for fishing. Recommend

Worst place ever. Managers are rude. Cashiers says thing that are outrageous. Won’t be ever shopping here. Rather spend my money at the dollar store then this location.

Falisha the store manager has a nasty attitude and just like to talk overs customers. Tells someone she will lock her door 10 mins before because there is no one there. She doesn’t want to waist 30 mins while a customer looks around and doesn’t buy anything… when you ask for the number they just ignore you. Says to call head office there nothing they will do. Most certainly don’t think they have been taught professional customer service. Says opened till 6pm but lock your door when you see someone coming. Unprofessional. Nasty attitude towards customers Don’t care mindset Not worth coming here and most certainly tell others about this.

They should remove old prices from product s which are 3 times cheaper than new prices

Wow.you'd need hours to see everything there lol first time going.lots of very good deals!

This shop needs good management to manage the store. Due to bad management things have been messed up.

Best- deals on clothes and fishing and outdoor activities stuff. Cashier staff is friendly and work at lightening speed.

Cons-
Many gift products are altered or in bad shaped. Some bad shoppers took some stuff out of gifts or playing games. Which makes other stuff useless.

Before buying toys kindly check specially creativity stuff.

Small gadgets or utility stuff is not well arranged they just throw it in wooden boxes. Many objects get mixed and don't know which one is part of which.

They try to put many stuff in shops but end up in less choices except outdoor stuff and clothes (casual wears).

Food stuff I try specially juices from Brazil they are not good. Chocolate are okay but very less choices. Don't know why they don't keep good brands

I was buying 70litrs baskets with lid and they don't know where they keep the lids.

Handy store to have in the area. Some good finds. Some good deals. I have to give a big to the cashier Catherine who went above and beyond to help me get a dress for my granddaughter. Thank you!

Sooo many different and unique things all in one place! We found items there that we've looked for but couldn't found anywhere else! Terrific prices as well!

Don't waste your time! It's like going to the worst flea market you've ever been to! There were items you can get at the dollar store in better condition and half or more if the price. The bedding is dusty and smells musty. The store is spread out and filled with complete bargain basement leftovers. I can't see this place surviving would be a miracle

It has all kinds of products, from clothes to toys and fishing/camping gear; so, you can spend a looong time there and find some interesting stuff.
I didn't find such great discounts though, prices are a lot like everywhere else.

Affordable place to find your stuff. I can say it is similar like dollar store but for different type of products.

Thank you to Aidan in the fishing dept. Helped get me sorted with a beautiful centre pin and rod. So helpful, I really enjoyed my time there and love what I came away with. Would happily recommend this store to anyone. Such a wonderful experience

Store still looks like the old Army and Navy store which was so sad to see go out of buisness. Browsed through the fishing dept very limited stock needs more to keep anglers interested in shopping there.

Have been to MFrugals twice now since I discovered it. I love you. So many great deal for men, women and children at great prices. The staff are super friendly. I definitely recommend it also lots of name brand clothing and such too.

Really great deals on all sorts of stuff from clothing for the whole family to items for your home. McFrugal's is a great place for the bargain hunter.
