First time visit at this store, the staff is super friendly, the service is pretty awesome and they have a wide range of quality mountain and winter gear. Glad I found some good pair of winter boots and socks at a great price! 5 stars for the entire team.
I went in to look for a jacket and Nate was fantastic. In fact I ended up getting the jacket he had first recommended to me after looking around for half an hour. Thanks for all your help Nate!
Ordered a seatpost for pickup here, but online stock status was wrong. Got lucky though, finding the size of seatpost I needed from Race Face in a clearance bin. Sometimes shopping in person has its perks! Easy enough to call in and cancel the original order, since it was placed only a couple of hours earlier, and hadn't been fully processed or charged to my card.
I am very satisfied with this location's bike repair shop service. The bike shop staff and service technician here are kind, timely, personable. They provided some helpful tips and provided some value added services. My bike was not just repaired properly in a short amount of time but looking great! Thank you so much!
Mec deducted money from my credit card 20days ago but ship nothing to me. They didn't inform me for such thing and mec just starts to refund after I call now. Really bad! Mec does not care about customer
I used to really like MEC, I’ve purchased there a number of times over the years. I always felt like it was very fair (they had a great return policy that made you feel like they cared about their customers and not just how high their profit margins are) and the staff was super helpful. It’s been a little while since I’ve been there, but I recently made a purchase there and I can say with confidence that I won’t shop there ever again. The store was disorganized and overcrowded, the staff was unhelpful, the manager was super unfriendly and condescending. No thanks. I’ll buy my stuff literally anywhere else now.
Any time that I have been in the store I have always been able to find a staff member that was knowledgeable and was able to help us find what we wanted.
I have shopped here several times and it has always been a positive experience. They often have sales which are always worth checking out. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful, particularly in the boots and shoes department. There is a good selection of gear and brands here as well. It has always been easy to return items and I've never had any issues with that.
As someone who recently gotten all of their camping/hiking gear stolen, I am needing to replace everything. As MEC being local, I heard this was the place to go.
I had made eye contact with 3 of MEC’s staff members and not of them greeted me or asked how my day was. This included the older lady, older man, and a younger fellow.
Sales in retail shouldn’t fall due to the lack of customer experience.
I was ready to drop a buck but decided to leave because I didn’t feel welcomed.
Went to the store today. The store was pretty empty. The section where very messy and disorganized. I got ask at least 10x if I needed help by numerous people even by the same person. I found some items in the for sale section that I liked with no price two of the same pieces different sizes. I asked for price check which ended up the item was not on sale but when I ask them to lead me to the item on the store so I could see if there are different colours they had no idea where it was and told me „ I’m sorry the store is a mess“ feeling very disappointed about what that store has become.
What kinda sports store doesn't sell downhill skis and snowboards. It's also really annoying that it come up first for ski shop cus it doesn't sell them
Incompetent staff and mediocre products. Left without buying anything because they lock their trail rooms and there is no staff to open it on request.waited for 10 minutes Rang the bell twice but no response.
The positive experience. The store has a good selection of outdoor and casual items which are of great quality. The guy named Leo did a terrific job finding an item based on my description of my needs, and was quite knowledgeable in details.
The negative experience. The price tag on display was awfully misleading. The item I was looking at had a tag on display saying it has a discount (like, a ~$50 discount from ~$220 to ~$170). However, on checkout I found out that the item did not have a discount. I have double-checked the price tag on display, and it had a small remark at the bottom that the discount was valid until Oct 19 (I was buying on Oct 28). So I would consider this to be a deliberate misinformation, because I don't believe it takes more than a week to remove outdated price tag discount.
I have bought the item anyway, because I liked it, and it was what I was looking for. But I don't like being lied to. Formally, the store didn't lie as they had this remark at the bottom of the price tag. But in fact, if there is a discount tag, the one doesn't really take time to examine it further. This has left me with a really negative impression and a suspicion of shady marketing practice.
This is honestly one of my favourite MEC stores! Have been to the stores in TO, Winnipeg, and Downtown.the staff here are phenomenal. Plenty of free parking. Great selection of products.ummm more knapsacks that anyone might need. But hey there is a selection.
Today's most helpful folks were Bob in the shoe fitting and Andrew for the most simple, detailed explanation of bike helmets. Thank you both.

Had a defective stove that was leaking gas. Had no receipt but they were able to find my purchase, do the swap with a brand new stove and absolutely no drama. Despite the changes with MEC, I’m still a loyal customer for many reasons, including this one.
This MEC is great. My #1 go-to for hiking & climbing gear because they always have what I’m looking for & the staff is always so knowledgeable & friendly. Came in recently for a large climbing haul and Amanda was amazing & hooked us up with everything we needed.
The rock solid guarantee i was initially serenaded with over a purchase sounded amazing, when i went to return something that failed i was refused the rock solid guarantee. Embarrassing. I woulda just bought it, but you went over promising and now i feel dumb. So, 1 out of 5 and I will try to always shop somewhere else. This is what happens man.
I was there tonight ready to buy a new fall/winter jacket. My current MEC Gortex jacket is starting to show serious wear. After walking around the store for about 15 minutes looking for someone to help me, I finally gave up and went through the checkout line.
The person there was not even sympathetic, nor were they enthusiastic in any way to make my shopping experience positive. With no recommendations or help, I left and will find somewhere else to buy my new jacket. Sad.

MEC always stands out for providing good value and staff who know about the products they sell. I’m not a huge fan of the recent change in corporate structure but it’s still the best place to buy most of the things they sell.
Cashier #1203 seemed not very happy while I shop in the store this afternoon. I dont care if Mec is operated by white people or other race, but if u dont like Asian coz of Covid 19 issue, I am telling you I am not Chinese, I am TAIWANESE! Close to Japan! If Mec wanna become an international brand but not just a Canadian label, pls acknowledge ur employees. Comparing Japanese SnowPeak and Mont-Bell mountain equipment. I assume she 1203 was just in bad mood coz full moon issue…. ps. Its my first time to shop in MEC!
MEC is the only store with good quality trail bikes under $1000 right now! There's a huge bike shortage and it's nearly impossible to find a good bike that doesn't cost thousands of dollars. The staff were really friendly and helpful. They offered a buy back on my seat and gave me a credit on the new one I purchased (I wanted a super big and comfy one). The store is packed with tons of items and there's lots of space to walk around and try things out. Highly recommend MEC!
I used to really like MEC and was a regular shopper for years until July 2,2021. I realize that this store only allows obedient mask wearing Sheep and Government slaves to shop here. I went in without a mask and was asked to put a mask on. I replied with a hard "no" and I will never return to this overpriced establishment and any other business that has bought into this mask nonsense. I truly hope you lose many customers.
We came here for jackets and noticed we had just missed a sale price. The manager was extremely kind and accommodating and honoured the price for us! The staff here were all incredibly helpful and understanding, the store is clean, well maintained and organized. The stock is huge and there is ample selection. I would absolutely return here regularly for shopping.
Had to borrow a back for a 7 day excursion. Tony from MEC was so knowledgeable. Explained every detail of proper backpack fitting while adjusting the pack to my body! Definitely calmed any reservations I had about how the pack would fit! Will definitely invest in one soon!

They have more products now but the staff is still unfriendly as before. I only shop here if I have to. Much prefer the Van and Nvan locations. Products are not well organized and some stuff are in the incorrect bins.
Civud19 protocols were in place. Shopped for bicycle gloves last week of December. Selection was not very robust for sizes and brands. However, I did find a pair. Looked for caliper brake pads, threaded, selection was very poor. Customer service was excellent.
The whole process with covid 19 in the Langley MEC is streamlined. Two staff outside, no mask no problem they quickly get you one and into the store I went. Picked up what I needed and I was out the door in under 10 minutes.
Well first and foremost it was clean.and another important thing is social distancing which at the very start was taken care of. Cause right of the bat they had a security and an employee to make sure it wasn't getting crowded in there which is the main thing. Lots of Parking and close to other amenities. A washroom would be made it perfect. But I ain't complaining lol. Keep up the good work.
My sister and I were helped by Kristy today (hope I got the spelling today) and she was amazing! We were searching for new bags and she helped us get fitted perfectly with an option within our budget. She went above with the customer service! The staff here in general is usually super helpful. Variable service, as with all MECs and other outdoor stores. Have had knowledgeable staff with solid customer service skills who helped me find some needed gear - right on and thank you! Also have the ever-present inflated-ego gearhead dudes who enjoying bombing with irreverent information (most recently when buying the hubby a new sleeping bag). Walk around and you can hear the mansplaining continually, an exhausting part of the MEC/outdoors store experience, particularly in BC.
If you have little to no experience with the gear, then go into the store for some guidance but be warned some staff want to tell you more about what they know and do than listen to your needs (so watch a bit and pick one of the gooders). If you are familiar, though, I find it’s best to most often buy online (use the MEC app) and just go to the store if you need to try it or see the product, though you can’t open most products now due to necessary Covid protocols.
Great store with everything needed for outdoor living. Plenty of helpful staff around. Unfortunately at the time we went many of the hiking supplies we went for were all our of stock.
A big store and is usually stocked up full for your needs. Nice and friendly associates too. Just check online first for the stock of bear spray and other popular camping equipment during the camping season.
I was in MEC last Tuesday looking for one of those self inflatable camping mattress. I was helped by Carly (hopefully I spelled it right), she was super helpful and friendly and went above and beyond to make sure I leave the store with what I want. Even in these difficult times it's wonderful to see MEC Langley staffs caring for their customers while adhering to social distancing and mask policies. Thank you Carly and the MEC Langley staff
