I am writing this to help other people when searching for a good lawyer. I received a very low-quality service from this group (My professional dignity stops me to name the lawyer publicly but to be fair to another branch of this group, I should say it was the surrey office). So you may take below into consideration if you want to settle into an agreement with them:
1) Get a written quote, if you don't then you might see many big fees in your final adjustment for small paper works,
2) They tried to justify that fee increase but every time I found their justification is not valid,
3) They failed to understand and assess my mortgage agreement and gave me two full-stressed days plus the interest penalty.
4) After the follow up they agreed to reimburse the interest penalty but surprisingly instead of reimbursing that to me they paid it to the bank, (meaning we paid that interest penalty twice: The first time the bank took it directly from my account and for the second round they did that favor to the bank!). At this point, I threw my hands and gave up calling and just observed the mess with a poker face:
5) Don't leave everything to the last moment, be proactive and study and sign the agreement ahead of time if you find them competent enough (which I doubt).

Am I recommending them? It is a big No!

Fantastic service. Steve is very patient. Answered all of our questions, as you can imagine lots of them as first time home owners.

The firm helped throughout the process with speedy service (minus the holidays, but it’s all good since they were away). I would recommend these folks for their honesty and service.

Most ethical and professional team i have worked.they have always been wonderful for all the help and support we needed.

I hired them and the first lawyer was inexperienced and had no idea of how to get things settled. The sr lawyer never listened and did his own thing and had an assistant making completely false statements to opposing council. Not to mention the billed me to fix their mistakes. This is the second time Merchant law group failed to do anything right. Stay away from them they use to be very good now they are only good at over charging

This law firm handled my sale and purchase recently and I must say that they did a fantastic job! Both transactions occurred in March at the height of COVID so you can imagine how worried I was in terms of ensuring that the sale, purchase and the registration of my new house would go seamlessly.
