I have had a very bad experience with Michael Hills customer service after buying a Christmas gift. I would recommend that people try other places. This company does not look after their customers.

Also when shopping for an engagement, I did lots of comparison shopping and found that I could get much better value elsewhere.

If you are looking for a Valentines gift for someone, I would go elsewhere else. You can do better

Don’t throw your money away. Bought ear rings for my baby for a small amount fortunately. Was told I could return them no problem. In case my 2yr old could not wear them so the return was important. Went to return today and was told to F off. Store policy no returns. This place is a scam. Be smarter with your money than I was. Very upset that I fell for their scam. I actually wanted to buy more from Michael Hill but customer service sucks. They lost a potential long term high paying customer. Really unfortunate.

Shadi is amazing, such a great salesperson, she could gain my trust to buy a new diamond pendant and a pair of earrings. I went there just browsing around and I ended up purchasing a valuable set of jewelry. She was super helpful, spent an hour with me while she had her beautiful smile answering all my questions and inquiries.

My friend came in today as her necklace had broke for the second time after getting it previously fixed. She came in and was assisted by the guy at the counter Geraldo I believe was his name or something similar. She described her situation and expressed how she was looking to get her necklace fixed and mentioned she had insurance, the guy asked for her insurance number however, she did not have it on hand but had other information that would help track the insurance number. He approached the situation in a very unfriendly manner which made her feel super uncomfortable and proceeded to go on his phone while she was checking over the information to track down the insurance number and when she went to point out an incorrect piece of information he dropped his phone on the counter as if she was interrupting something. After he proceeded to go to the back but didnt come out, my friend was forced to ask another associate to follow up as to where he had went, he came back out to finish the service only after when she had to ask another associate for help. Overall, a really bad experience as she was given a consistent unwelcoming tone and unfriendly service.

Was in today to look at some jewelery and had a wonderful associate named Gerardo (or Geraldo?). He was very friendly and informative and really helped us towards making a decision for our big purchases, highly recommend

I have shopped and spent a lot of money at Michael Hill over the years. For the most part the quality has been great along with the service until today. I purchased a tennis bracelet 2 days ago, I went to put it on this morning and the clasp was broken. It was NOT worn, because it’s broken. I went into an empty Metrotown Store today to see 4 associates walking around with their hands around their back. I said I have a bracelet that I need replaced because it’s broken to the Sales associate. Pass her the receipt and she goes to get the Manager who
I’ve never seen before? He says there’s nothing he can do because the bracelet is broken…they’ll send it for repairs. …!? So why would I want a brand new bracelet that’s never been worn to go for a repair? He kept stating that their policy has changed? That’s not my problem…just fix the problem. All the sudden, all 4 associates walk over and are standing and watching me. Was this amusing to them? Clearly because the store was dead, now I see why!

I have this item which I just purchased 2 days prior, and is broken, never worn and they won’t take it back? Quality!? Service? Are you serious? That Manager clearly kept telling me about their policy which I didn’t care. If Michael Hill sells an item and it’s not 100% then fix the situation! Simple, replace or refund it! Don’t make excuses. The Manager did end up giving me a refund but it took a lot of anger on my part. Need less to say that the staff at Metrotown are no where near as polite, and helpful as in the past. I won’t be shopping at Metrotown again and will consider purchasing anything again in the future. But it does seem that the quality is going down from previous years? Stand by your quality or you’ll end up losing customers! Train and educate your associates and managers with respect to customer service and needs because you’re losing a very long term customer. There’s many other places I can and do shop.

Too expensive. They won't take stuff back even if there's something wrong with it. Earrings tarnish and necklaces break within a year. They don't take responsibility for anything

So far so good.
Came in to buy a watch from someone reselling, the staff was there to help me out.

Shawn the manager gave really good insight and a really nice guy.

Will be a repeat customer as of now.
Be back in two weeks to pick the watch up fresh and will update my review.

This store has very bad customer service. They doesn't really help the clients and take them for granted no wonder why dis store is always empty. Manager is very rude and doesn't know how to deal with customers.

I had an extremely informative session with Amir, he was really caring and attentive to my needs, highly recommend him!
Prices are a bit steep but if I do come back I know I'll be looking for Amir!

Brought my watch in for a new battery and to be cleaned. They have to send it to Toronto and it takes about 2 weeks, that’s no issue.
Unfortunately once I got it back it was very evident that the watch WAS NOT cleaned and they had allowed moisture to get inside the watch. Speaking to an associate there she was not helpful at all. She just kept repeating “they did the best they could do”
Very unhappy with the customer service provided today.

Thank you Farzin from Metrotown, Burnaby location. Eventhough we were not able to meet the price i wanted to pay and the sale didnt happen, i wanted to write this review to give thanks to her as she was so helpful and patient with me. Such warm and professional customer service, its been a long time since i experienced such amazing customer service, especially at a jewelry store. I have bought several peices from Michael hill in the past, and recently a watch - eventhough we didnt close the deal today, they will alway still be my first choice when jewellery shopping!

I like Michaels fav location is Brentwood mall. The lady's are awesome there. This Metrotown location isn't great. They gave me a price on a ring. Then told me later whoops that's not the price they even wrote it on a card for me. Then took there word back. Wouldn't recomend this location.

Terrible service. I went in with my husband for our bi annual ring inspection and cleaning. The associate, a small women with black hair and glasses, was so rude. We had a question and she wouldn't shut up and she kept talking over me and my husband, in a condescending tone.

After a few minutes I told her firmly to stop interrupting my husband. She finally shut up and did her job quietly. Typical horrendous custom service at this location. Don't bother buying anything from these jokers. They don't deserve any commission.

Bought my wedding ring with a lifetime guarantee. The actual ring BROKE 17 months later. When my wife brought it in, they told her they couldn't find the paperwork for the guarantee, l and instead, offered us a discount on another ring lol

Terrible service, tries to sell you whatever they can without letting you know the return policy. When you try to get a refund they will give you all the excuse they can find. Very rude staff

Worst customer service I've ever received at a Michael Hill store! No one greets you, when you ask for something you get brushed off and they are SO SLOW! When I came to look at wedding bands the associate kept complimenting my engagement ring and then finally said 'where is it from'? Are you that dense - it's from Michael Hill. Staff should be trained on their diamonds and rings as well as that looked so unprofessional. I would never go back to this location to get any jewelry or cleaning done. Horrible store and horrible staff.

I went in with a problem with a Michael
Hill watch I bought a few years ago. The staff and manager went out of their way to make it right. I am very impressed with the customer service. I will definately be shopping here in the future.

Solina was super helpful and very personable. She helped us find our rings and we were super happy when we walked out the store. She deserves to be recognized for her amazing customer service. All the staff were also very friendly and accommodating. We would recommend Michael Hill to all the couples looking for a ring ;). Thanks again Solina!

Not recommended, no patience, the tall guy was checking his phone while talking to me, was not helpful with no intend to sell me anything. I heard him laughing with another girl while my girl friend and I walking out the store, so unprofessional.

Every time I'm in burnaby I stop by michael hill. I find the staff there to be more knowledgeable and pleasant than other jewelry stores ive been to, Solina especially. Thankyou so much for always making sure i leave satisfied. 5 stars!

Recently I visited Michael Hill in Metrotown to purchase a graduation gift for my granddaughter. The ladies on the floor that day were preoccupied with other customers; but the lovely young manager came over to greet me, then took the time to answer all my questions and help me find exactly what I was looking for. Thank you very much Solina for all your help, I simply cannot wait to give my granddaughter her present!

We came in wanting to buy a ring and band set on a limited budget. Bena was very patient with us and her service really exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend her to be your CSR. And the manager Solina was so extremely accommodating and made sure we were within budget. (Well, a tiny little bit over.)

My mom purchased this for my grandmother on My 5th 2017 as a mother day gift for my grandmother. The first time she wears it on May 18th attended her nieces weeding. And than the chains are broken. We went to the store the staff told us there are damage on it. I have told them its only been wear for 3 days if there is any damage its caused by the broken chain which made the pendent fall to the ground. The staff member was at first saying its bought in 2015 after I show them receipt she said she remember it wrong with out saying sorry. Another staff member told me there isn’t enough cash to refund, but the purchase was made using credit card! I called the store manager Gavin Helps this mooring and he said once its been wear it cannot be returned and plus there are starches on it. I told them the damage is caused by the broken chain which made the pendent fall to the ground. He refused to admit there was a manufacture issue, refuse to do a refund and he said if I bought a new car when it starches I don’t go back to deal. He suggests me to contact my house insurances. And he refusing to say anything about staff member because he wasn’t there so he did not see it My grandmother in her mid 80’s with stage 3 heart failure only wears it for 3 days even if she wants starches it she is not able to.
For you fellows who wants to buy here please reconsider it. If you are willing to take the risk considering. Clearly Gavin Helps the store manger said they only accepts return is its not been wear. But if you not wearing it how do you know it there is any defect. This time my grandmother’s housekeeper found it and return to her, that because my grandmother rarely goes out. But if she lost outside in a mall there is no chance of finding it. If you just must buy it here please get a house insurance before you buy it. As the manager had suggest that’s where you should go to seek compensation And I just filled a complain to consumer protection BC its a lot of work but I am willing to do it whatever it takes as I have never encounter anythings like this before.
