I am scared of the dental clinic as I hate going to the dentist. However, the staff are aware of my anxiety and try to put me at ease. There is a high turnover of dentists. Also, they keep telling me to come back every 4 months for a cleaning. Is this necessary?

If you need to go I guess you can but Dr. Lamb is a literal piece of human garbage, one time I needed something filled and had a prefered pharmacy that I desperately needed due to it be a private health reason and when I went to that pharmacy to pick up I needed them to transfer the rx (prescription) to another pharmacy due to me not having a car. He wouldn't, (which is against the law) then I had to have that pharmacy call him and force him. Years later I came in for a walk in due to the same symptoms popping up as I suspect it a different type of viral infection and he refused to see me/speak to me or even let me into the clinic. Patient refusal due to (the last incident). I may have been rude on phone to reception due to me being in panic for my health and them beginning being rude however I was in distress and that's all I have to say on him God can get my revenge for me. The receptionist at least showed some sympathy through the door at the front desk.

I feel compelled to share my negative experience with the mid-main dental clinic. Despite claiming to be a non-profit organization, their practices and customer service fail far with their purported mission.

Their deliberate effort to reject my written request for the x-ray is evident of blatant lack of professionalism. And disregard for patients' needs is both frustrating and concerning. To add insult to injury, my written request for dental records went unanswered for an astonishing two months.

This has been my family doctor office for years. However it is very difficult to get an appointment fast. 80% of the time I go to a walk in clinic for immediate needs.

The main reason for the 2 stars is the quality of assistance at the front desk answering phones. They are insensitive and short with you and don’t seem to care about your needs. My mother and aunt have also complained about this. They make you feel unworthy and uncared for when that is the whole point of a doctors office. I only felt it once where they empathized with not getting an appointment. This has been going on for quite the past few years. Please ask your employees to show some kindness and empathy!

There are less expensive places that don’t ask you to book another visit because they are not done cleaning your teeth. The last hygienist was quite rude speaking with me because I had mentioned I wasn’t informed that I would have to come back again for another cleaning, which took so long to get in the first place. The senior front desk lady was quite defensive when I was just trying to give constructive criticism. Thankfully, there was a cancellation and I was able to book the 2nd round of cleaning the next day. Also, their version of charging $30 for “fluoride” is actually their mouthwash. My teeth have never felt grimy after a cleaning like they do now. My friend who is a hygienist took a look at my teeth and saw that it wasn’t a thorough job.

This office has been ignored my request for 1 week. I sent a week ago and I haven't received any email from them. I sent an email multiple times. I don't get it. Their website tells me they will response within 24 hours. I don't know if they are discriminating based on my name or something.

My GP is Dr. Vesna Kovacevic. She is an absolute gem and cares not only for me but for my immediate family. She is very relatable and down to earth. I am a little sad that they have moved as I loved the old location. I know that the new building is just down main street so it's just down the hill.

I am so grateful to have a GP in this city and am always appreciative of the care I receive. Keep it up Doctor K! I am sure the last couple years have been challenging in healthcare but I just know that all your patients are grateful! (especially my mother)

Dr. Kovacevic is amazing! She has been my family doctor for 6 years now. She is knowledgeable, empathic and goes above and beyond to support me when needed. I feel fortunate to have found her. Also Mid-Main's online appointment booking system is easy to use.

I have been going to this dental clinic for about 7 years, with a break going to another clinic when I lived in another part of town. Their hygienists are professional and have been very helpful with their recommendations on better products to help me improve my oral care, without lecturing me. I'm grateful that they took a non-preachy approach and actually helped me make improvements. The dental work I've had done has been very good. The front desk has occasionally been disorganized on the phone. Hit and miss. But overall, I'd recommend this dental practice.

The impression that I have of the receptionist is that she is irritated by the patients. Either she is burnt out or doesn't enjoy this type of role.

She is very impatient and condescending. It is clear she doesn't feel obligated to be civil and likely there is no accountability for how she treats patients.

I say this because when she was annoyed with me she abruptly transferred me to the clinic administrator. This was not at my request, it was because she didn't want to talk to me anymore. So my assumption is that the clinic administration condones her rudeness and incivility towards the patients. Otherwise I assume she would be worried about what I would say to the administrator.

I see there are a few other reviews specifically about reception here and I see someone is monitoring this. Please do something about your receptionist. People who are sick and going to the doctor need an empathetic line of contact, not someone who is going to be rude and escalate any point of conflict into a fight.

I am very satisfied with all the care and services I've received over the years from Mid Main Medical.
I've had a few different doctors there as they move to different facilities or specialized areas.however, each and every doctor has been absolutely excellent, providing top notch care. The doctors and staff make you feel like you are their only patient, and show care and compassion at all times.

My daughters and I have been patients of Mid-Main for six years, my husband recently became a patient. My experience of the doctors and staff is that of a professional, efficient and caring organization (even when I see them in stressful circumstances). We've had excellent treatment and I highly recommend their services!

Dr. Kovacevic has been my family doctor for several years. She is very knowledgeable, empathetic, trustable, kind, and considerate.
I have had positive interaction with the clinic staff.
It is a very busy clinic though and the waits are usually expected even if you have an appointment.

This building has both a medical and dental offices. Community dental services with seniors discount. Now limited to 1 dentist. Pleasant and busy. All staff and dentist helpful and expedient. Very busy. Wait on bench indoors.

I am a patient of Dr. Randsalu and have been consistently impressed with his clinical knowledge and therapeutic rapport. Would definitely recommend if he is taking new patients. The clinic staff are also very kind any time I have had to interact with them and, with the restrictions from Covid, their new online virtual/phone booking system is very convenient.

I have been a patient here for over a decade, and have received fantastic, high quality care at every encounter. Highly, highly recommended. I wish all doctors could be as fantastic as this group.

Update in 2021: My long time family doctor (Dr. Majeed) left this practice 2 years ago. I was very concerned as I'd been a patient for 15 years. Midmain did an amazing job of keeping myself and my child as patients, by using locums and their other doctors, until a replacement could be found. I am now under the care of one of their nurse practitioners, Suzanne Liu.

I was nervous about changing providers after such a long time with Dr. Majeed, but NP Liu has been an absolutely amazing care provider. The other doctors at Midmain that we've interacted with, are all fantastic as well. I continue to highly recommend this clinic, 5/5 stars.

I have had Dr. Turgeon as my doctor for many years. She is the most caring person, super knowledgeable and is just compassionate beyond belief. The staff are always also super friendly and helpful.

Hi. I would like to say I feel the staff care for their patients. I needed something more immediate but had to wait a lengthy amount of time to have it done w an appointment set for 6 to 8 weeks away. I was also put on a cancelation waiting list as it was the best they could do and unfortunately had a medical problem the day of filling in for someone else's cancelation and was billed 100.00 for the time of the dentist who waited around for me. I would say try this office out if you can wait for a appointment. Just be prepared to wait. My situation was unique I was in and out of emergency 3 times for emergency freeze to try and wait for the December appointment in October. So they tried their best. I had to go elsewhere to deal w my issue as it needed immediate attention. Best of luck.

Well Mid-Main, I think it's time to break up. It's not me, it's you. During our relationship, you have claimed to never have me as a patient, given me the constant run around, and won't even confirm/deny a simple appt time over the phone. Is this what getting a divorce feels like? I used to support your mandate and non-profit mission, but this is just unacceptable patient care. And, looking through the recent reviews here, I'm hardly the only one to be breaking up with you. Hope these comments lead to oversight on the board level and positive change.

I love my doctor here. She is so efficient. I have trouble booking on line appt. I usually book one through the office. Since, my blood work was off, I phoned to book an appointment. Who ever I was talking to and explaining, I had tried many times to book an appointment. Would not let me book one on the phone. Now, I am unable to speak to my Doctor about anything. Even though the receptionist had me on the phone. I m not even sure what to do now.

Heartbreaking service.had someone taken time or cared enough maybe I would have had more time with my mom.

A few years ago our family packed up shop and found a new family doctor. After years of rude bedside manor, being lectured and being dismissed it was time to leave.

I wish we had done it sooner, for at least 5 years prior to leaving my mom had asked periodically about 3inch diameter dark black spots on her leg, our doctor who is also the director always dismissed as age spots. AGE SPOTS!

First visit with new doctor my mom still concerned shows our new family doctor who flagged it immediately as a sign of low platelets (a cause for alarm). Ran the gamut of testing and within a few months diagnosed with liver cancer and cirrhosis of the liver.

We were cheated with years of intervention because something so alarming was dismissed as age spots. Its heartbreaking to think how many years we were cheated. Mom is now in the final stages of liver cancer.

Absolutely terrible customer service. About as informative as a shoe. They are very quick to dismiss you as opposed to actually hearing out your issues. The receptionists are probably the worst I've ever dealt with at any clinic. The only thing they helped me with was solidifying my decision in not ever calling them back again. If I could post a 0 star review I would.

They’re not interested in the health of the people, as well Annie Wong “medical doctor administrator” she treated patience, if they do not sign whatever they want, THE MEDICAL SERVICE WILL BE NEGLECTED! She it is just protecting they rude staff, they don’t care about patients!

A patient of one of the Doctors there the Doctor is great could not have asked for better the counter staff is another issue all together I have booked appointments and follow up appointments with the reception staff only to have them screw it up completely dates I booked were never put into the system or the wrong dates and times. Management should really look at hiring competent staff members who can do the job properly

I've been going to Mid-Main Dental for the last year and really appreciate that all of the staff from reception to the dentists are always so friendly! They also do direct billing to insurance companies which is really convenient.

Tried to get a new family doctor. It's too difficult to deal with the front desk. There is none. You call.you have to wade through myriad messages to get ahold of anyone. I asked for a followup for a simple issue, and heard nothing. I tried emailing their email they have listed.got a terse email reply that this is not the place to ask for appointment. If I have to go through this each time I have to see the doctor-I don't think so. Dr Randhalu your office has failed you.

My whole family has been going to the clinic for the past 20 years. Just recently I called to make an appointment for my daughter and the receptionist said that she has been dropped as a patient because she hasn’t seen our family doctor for the past 5 years. Without any letter, warning or phone calls, they decide to drop you as a patient. Is that Mid-Main Community Health Centre policy? I’m shocked to hear this and who decides to drop a patient without any warning. There is already a shortage of family physicians in BC and now we have this issue to deal with. Not professional at all and very disappointing.

I found myself slightly distracted by reception's seeming disorganization (I received conflicting instructions about submitting my medical history and immunization record and then was given an extremely long and detailed form asking me to rewrite everything in the records I had been instructed incorrectly to submit-all of this occurring minutes prior to my appointment; this stressor could have been avoided had I received the long form electronically after I had booked my appointment the day before), but my attention was quickly diverted to the quality of my medical care when I experienced nurse practitioner (NP) Jackie's warm demeanor and listened to her expertise on overseas diseases and their prevention. Thank you, NP Jackie, for helping me understand what I needed to do and for relating to me as a human being.

Not sure what kinds of experiences justify all the bad reviews RE: customer service. Personally, I've had nothing but good and attentive service from the moment they took my first inquiry call down to the second I left the dental office. This being my first visit, I had to see both a dentist for a general consultation after x-rays AND a hygienist. I can understand other reviews claiming they "try to up-sell, " but I honestly think the staff are just trying to be thorough. There are options on the table for your own oral comfort & health, but they're not aggressively pushing you to take them.

I guess my only minor grievance is that I only had "half" of my mouth cleaned within the time-frame of my appointment. It's offset by a more informed understanding of my gum health (given the amount of time that went into measuring my gums for shrinkage and bone decay,) so I won't call it an actual complaint. Personally, I prefer being given a thorough idea of what's going on inside my mouth whether I like the results or not. I'm not in a bad state of oral health, but given my situation, it's not like I could expect the doctors to make the problems go away in one sitting.

I would recommend this clinic to anyone.

Malpractice and no accountability or help from reception! My old dentist was great, but saw a new one, who fishily was there for only a few months. Had a filling done on a tooth. The new dentist did not properly check my x-rays to note the crack in the tooth. The result was a month of excruciating pain. Ended up going to another clinic where I had to pay to have it removed as mid-main had maxed out my coverage. I'm disabled so this ended up being an expense I could not afford, especially as I had to see a denturist afterwards. I should have sued but was too traumatized to follow up. Avoid at all costs!

I had a cavity filled about 3 weeks ago and it was still hurting every day, so called to make an appointment to get it fixed, they tell me the dr who filled it was not available and suggested another, ok sure no worries as long is it gets fixed. Go to the appointment and the dr does almost nothing but test my bite and tells me to use listerine. Then says if it still hurt in a few days I should make an appointment with the dentest who did it in the first place.well that’s why I’m here and missing work now! So now I’m gonna have to ask for more time off work and go back again. And I’m sorry but I’m not going to mid main dental because I’m rolling in cash, missing work is not easy for me.

After many times making agreements with my personal physician there, the staff continually override it and have disregarded agreements between myself and the Doctor there. I was on their "Priority Patient" list but it did not seem to make a difference

They are simply interested in money period, why else make someone travel all the way to their clinic for just a prescription, no check up no review or anything. Just billing the government for something THEY say you need for the rest of your life.

I have stopped taking the medications the specialist had prescribed to me because of their antics. This is not a medical center you want to go to.

Here is something else to consider, for 18 months the doctors said I was looking for a prescription or 'faking it'

Turned out I had broken my two vertebrae in my neck, so now as a result of that I can never walk properly again. Good luck trying to say anything to the college of surgeons and physicians since they never answer their phones.

Stay FAR FAR AWAY from these doctors if you want real medical help

EDIT: Called their 'conflict resolution' number.got a machine.almost half a year later. Not a return call or anything else. (This is what their medical care is like too)

I have pretty good teeth, but I go for regular hygiene appointments and the staff is always friendly and welcoming. Pleased to say I have not had a filling for a long time.

I agree with some of the comments below regarding customer service. Everyone is great but I recently had a receptionist who took forever to book my next appointment. Usually its quick and efficient but this lady took at least 30 mins to book my next appointment and it wasn't even busy. She isn't new either which is rather weird. But other then that everyone is great here!

I would not recommend this dental office. I found the staff to be rude and the dentists to be highly insensitive. I had a tooth removed here a couple of years ago after being in extreme pain and had the dentist and hygienist talk about personal topics as if I was not in the room as they were pulling out my tooth. There was absolutely no bedside manner or professionalism. I only decided to take the time writing this review after finding another kind and professional dentist in Vancouver. They are out there just not in my personal experience at this dental office.

Let down by *horrible* management/administration. I've had good experiences here with the dentists and hygienists, they have been friendly and informative etc. HOWEVER am turned completely off by the management or lack thereof, from not returning phone calls to being downright confrontational and rude. Reception also leaves a lot to be desired although has improved somewhat, I'm guessing they read the reviews left and have made some adjustments there albeit very incremental. If they could get their management together, particularly administration acting like a civilized human being and putting together a competent reception staff it would really turn things around but as things are now if you can avoid this place do it, it is not worth the frustration you will inevitably deal with.

Very rude customer service and the lady working in reception don’t know about the insurance policy. My wife is there patient and they put all the expensive things in the top priority. When she Asked to do the cheaper one they said she have to pay the whole amount of it where she only suppose to pay 20% of it. They just want to take more money from you and very poor customer service the lady don’t know how to talk if there is negative I could have give them that. They don’t even deserve 1 star. New patient I will suggest please don’t go there otherwise you will also suffer like my wife.
