I used to enjoy coming to Midas for the great service and fair pricing. My recent muffler repair was quoted at $900 which I knew instinctively was a money grab. Another well rated shop did it for $600. Midas could get me in the next week for the repair and I had to wait a month for the competitor. Now I know why. I would rather wait.

Outstanding customer service! They serviced my vehicle but unfortunately my hitch didn’t arrive in time to install (from a supplier) they fit me in the next day when it arrived. They walked me through the process in the shop as it required cutting the bumper of my new car to install. It looks fantastic and I will go there again. Strongly recommend!

Great experience and service from Derek and the rest of the team. I come here for everything. On my most recent visit for a tire hole fix the staff dropped my keys off at my work for me. It was very kind.

I am from Manitoba and was camping near Nelson, BC. I got up one morning and my breaks started making a very bad sound, while camping. It was just myself and daughter travelling. I was upset and not sure where I should take my car, I asked the camping patrol and she recommended Midas in Nelson, BC. I called them very upset and not sure what I should do, they where so amazing and told me to come right away and that they help me out. Chris was very understanding and helpful. He was able to reassure me that we will be taken care of and even gave us suggestions where to eat and what we could do while we wait. They got us all fixed up in about an hour. All of the staff there was so amazing when we went back to pick up the car.

I was disappointed by the service at Midas and I advise you to go to Civic or another garage for your automotive needs.

I got my oil changed by Midas, Nelson. The oil filter was left loose after the service so a lot of oil drained out right away. When I picked it up there was a puddle beneath the car. At this point the shop was closed so I had to bring it back the next week.

I'm in the process of trying to sell my car and this has really slowed things down unnecessarily. They wouldn't give me a discount for the poor service received. They only offered me a small discount on my next visit but obviously I'm not keen to go back there.

I told my story to a friend and they said this Midas location installed the oil filter incorrectly on their car and caused numerous problems for them.

Most of the employees are friendly, nice people but the work is just not up to par.

Offered the best deal of any shop in town and had the job done very quickly. Great service!

My husband and I have been taking our car to this Midas for 5 or 6 years, and sadly, we will have to find somewhere else to go because of how poorly we were treated last time. We took our car in just because a belt was squeaking and we had a few hour drive coming up. We were told it was fixed and safe to drive. The squeaking continued the next day. Five days later, we basically had to fight them (Derek) for them to give us a free diagnosis, and for Derek to say he "doesn't have a crystal ball" when we asked if it was safe to drive a few hour trip. Derek's overall customer service was very rude and unclear. It took them 2 to 3 hours for them to basically do nothing and hand us a write-up about how they aren't responsible for car sounds and that we MIGHT need both belts replaced. If that was the case, why weren't we given the option in the first place? We left feeling brushed off and pushed out, which is very different than all times before.

Needed a muffler replacement on very short notice. Very helpful and accommodating and at a reasonable price!

The team at Midas was soo helpful and had excellent communication about the issues our car was having. They're our first choice in Nelson (or anywhere, really). We had a loud sound coming from our breaks and they helped us until the problem was solved so we can go on long road trips or drive up to the ski resort without worrying about an accident. Definitely recommend!

Amazing service! I went in just before closing time in a panic and they fit me in for 8 AM the next morning. They were prompt and friendly and super accommodating. They also gave me a quote for further work that may be needed. Thank you so much!

We had a great experience with Midas in Nelson, they paid for my brake pads with a lifetime warranty. We only paid labour on the install - that’s their guarantee which we thinks is a pretty good deal given the hills in the Kootenays. Midas got us in with short notice when we were in a pinch, it was efficient and the service was good. I’d recommend.

I would definitely recommend Midas in Nelson! I have gone to them several times with different issues and they have always communicated well and been honest with me about what is going on. Chris in particular has been an amazing help - friendly and always taking the time to answer my many questions. Brenda as well has been helpful and kind over the phone. Excellent customer service and vehicle maintenance too! Very friendly, approachable staff helped me with a muffler issue. When the vehicle wasn't ready at the time I needed to go home, the owner drove me to my house and later brought the vehicle out! I highly recommend Midas Nelson

I had a broken valve stem. Two other tire places in the area wouldn't fix it because it is their busiest time of the year (which I understand). One re-inflated my tire and sent me over to Midas, who was just as busy as them. Midas replaced the valve stem on the spot despite how busy they were.
I was very grateful for that small kind act.
