Took my car in for an oil change, ended up needing a new part. I was about to go on a road trip so was in need of my car, but they offered to rush it the best they could. When I went to pick it up they were super kind, and when they had explained the issues to me over the phone they were very kind and thorough. I would definitely take my car there again if I needed:)

I came in for a regular oil change. Great service, didn’t try to upsell me like Mr. Lube. No sneaky hidden costs. Dale and his staff are really professional, I would definitely recommend to go to Midas to service your car.

Peter (Service Advisor / Operations Manager) was absolutely amazing! He was professional, courteous and knowledgeable when I inquired about my catalytic converter being stolen. He kept me updated with the progress of my vehicle while it was being serviced. Thank you Peter for your hard work and dedication to your craft to make my experience a positive one.

Squeezed me in last minute when a screw gave me a flat tire and fixed it within 2 hours despite me not having an appointment. I am so grateful for their kindness when every other place turned me away. Thank you!

Edit: Docked a star because they used my email to sign me up for their mailing list without my consent. Not cool.

The crew at Midas got my vehicle and parts in promptly. The guys in the shop are quite cheerful and willing and able to explain what they are doing and what needs to be done. As a mechanic myself, I have a hard time trusting someone to work on my vehicle, these guys did a great job and are trustworthy. Thank you Midas Kingsway crew!

Came in asking if I could get an oil change this afternoon. First response I got from the gentleman at the desk was “Have you been a good girl? ”, so I walked out.

Called back and asked to speak to the manager, Dale. Was told he’s been sick for a while and they don’t know when he’ll be back in.

So, Dale, and the gentleman who spoke to me at the front desk, if you’re reading this, please never speak to a customer like that again. Just so unprofessional. I’m back at the mr. Lube that’s a little further from my house but has always been very polite and professional when I come by.

This is to follw up my previous review. Just a few hours after my posting, the company rep Charlene contacted me. She explained well the company policy, sent out an apology and refunded me the second invoice. Thank you Charlene. I am impressed with their promply reply to customer concern.
I would say Midas is still caring for their name, their work and hold up to the policy. I also hope a speedy recovery for Dale, the store manager.

Old front desk guy seems very off and looks like he could snap at anytime. Definitely has got that MAGA vibe going on. It's obvious he may have a lot of hate brewing inside of him and it's probably just a matter of time unti he can no longer hold it all in. Their tire repair work could also be better. I would give zero stars if it was possible. The creepy old desk guy was starting to get on my nerves.

Don’t go to this location, they’ll rip u off, guy in the front ask me if it’s my first time getting service with Midas which is true, charged me $200 (kept my receipt) just for recharging my a/c refrigerant, that’s it, did not even gave me Diagnosing Report which I’ve heard from my friend- Midas at burnaby location does it for their customers as part of the service. Yeah so if u don’t know anything bout cars do some research first, and don’t just blindly bring ur car in or else it will cost ya lots $$$. Learned my lessons

Very excellent experienced team at this location. It is a busy shop which is a good sign and glad to recommend them for any mechanical need not just the basic stuff. I even saw one long time customer bring cookies for everyone there when she picked up her car. A good friendly neighborhood shop. Thanks Dale and everyone there.

Pre booked an appointment giving details of make and model of car. Had appointment confirmed but when I dropped off car was called 2 hrs later to inform me they did not have appropriate number of tires in stock.

I've been coming here for regular oil changes for the past couple years and Dale and the team are always so great! He always explains any issues and provides great customer service!

So I made a mistake and dropped my vehicle off at another location. When I called where I had left the car, was met with we have no idea why it’s here. After calling the number on my phone, the error was revealed. The reception made it crystal clear it was my fault. What was most bothering is that I was not called from the correct location today after I had blown my appointment, again instead it was my fault. I have to be completely honest, it felt that with COVID restrictions in place facing the customer does not happen. This seems to embolden complacency and condensation. Will never spend a nickel at Midas

Well, the story is that I came in with a working car and came out with a broken one. I brought my 2006 Mazda 3 in for an oil change and nothing else was wrong with the car. They acknowledged that the check engine light was not on before they brought the car in and that the transmission was working just fine before as well. Now, my car is broken and I'm screwed. Here is my story.

After 3 hours, the oil change was completed and when I drove the car out the check engine light was on and my car could not detect what gear I was on anymore. I went back in to point out this issue and they did try to check it out for me, but the end result was them telling me that I'm SOL (out of luck) and did not want to take responsibility for what happened. I was told that my car was going to break down right after I drove it in anyways by itself.

One day after, my car stalled in the middle of the street and I could not drive forward or reverse. The emergency light came on and now I'm screwed. I'm not here to slander their name. The staff was mostly friendly. It's hard not for me to think that an honest mistake happened when they drove my car in to when they drove my car out from the shop, but they say they did nothing wrong.

I'm just sad and upset that my working car has broken down just because I wanted to bring my car in to Midas for a simple oil change. I now must figure out what will happen now in my life as this is a big financial issue now.

Again, I am just here to share my story and these are the facts of what transpired for me.

They always took good care of my 2005 Toyota echo, and it's still alive, no mechanical failure ever, just fluids, brakes, exaust, good price for all services

I'm not sure why the negative comments. I've been bringing my car here for years. Always professional, trustworthy, and great customer service. Very happy with the services done on my car. Two thumbs up!

Just to keep on track, in this site my car was mistreated by the worker there Herb.
I will send my car to maintenance and will follow up if my transmission has been damaged.
If you have a nice car, be careful.

Scheduled for a synthetic oil change plus a free complementary multi point expection and fluid top up. I cane back 45 mins later, the oil change was done. They charged me $99. It waa advertised $79. The cashier said $79 did not include labor and parts and tax. Which was odd because i had been to thus midas location 2 times previously and my oil change was always $80 something from $79 after taxes. Labor and parts was always included the last 2 times i was there. I went to go pay and then i asked the cashier where my inspection written report was. He went to the mechanics to go look for it. He came back with it 5 mins later said my car was all good no issues and i paid and went to my car. I popped the hood and checked my wind shield washer fluid. It was still bone dry since i saw it before the service. On my written report it said windshield washer fluid was topped up. Clearly it was not. I went back in to the cashier to let him know that it wasn't. He and 2 mechanics went to my car and they all looked at the empty wash fluid. They denied that they didn't fill it. They filled it up after that and i drove home. I parked my car in my drive way. I lookedat the report once more. They wrote on it that the start of the service my milage was 17061km. I looked at my car the milage was at 17106km. Thats a 40km difference The drive from midas to my house was about 7 mins. It wouldn't even be 5km. Vancouver to surrey would be about 40km. Which said to me they wrote a random milage as they filled that report up on the spot after i asked where my report was earlier. Which means they performed no inspection or fluid top up. Tge report was totally bogus. They only did the oil change. I defiently won't be doing future business here again. Very dishonest and shadey how they operated here. I highly suggest to stay clear of this place.

Got a great deal on new tires for winter and brakes checked out ok but glad they check them every time I do an oil change. Thank you Dale and the crew at this Midas location!

I came to this place to refill the coolant, they called me and told me I have to replace the radiator and it would cost $900. I went to the other shop they only charged me $300. Why ripping people off?

0 STARS! This place should have their business licence taken away.

We dropped our car off Sunday evening, August 18,2019, dropped the keys off in the keydrop and left the shop a voicemail that we required serving on the car. We could only have it towed that evening because the car did not have insurance registered as it didn’t pass inspection due to the muffler. We took it to get serviced at Midas so that we could get the car to pass inspection and as a result, would allow ICBC to be able to insure the car.

We called in the morning to elaborate on the services required and Midas said there was no car in their parking lot. No keys. Nothing. There was absolutely no sign of a break in at there shop and the guy seemed to think that is enough of an explanation for us. When asked why there was no sign of damage to the store, the employee had no answer, was of no assistance and had absolutely no empathy whatsoever. The keys were thrown in very far, too far for anyone to reach without breaking into the actual building. No one could have possibly been able to reached for them, without damaging something. The fact that the shop has no damage is strange enough, leading me to believe that it was an inside job and an employee that did this. I’d love for Midas to prove me wrong here… but they don’t care enough to even bat an eye at this situation. What absolutely pathetic ethics.

As a shop that deals with thousands of dollar of merchandise, where are your cameras? Where is your security? How are you even qualified to be handling items of value? Absolutely no help from Midas at that point. Not even remorse shown. Any right-minded person would have tried to help. They just brushed us off – “Not my problem”. We were customers of this shop, but we never will be again. Our car was stolen off their own property and they don’t even care! WHAT A CROCK OF S**T. They have no idea how much this vehicle is relied on to make a living. If we don’t have a car, we don’t have a job. This place is absolutely 100% shady and I would never leave my car here or ever give them my business again. I’ve lived in East Vancouver my entire life and I will be sure to let everyone and anyone know never to come here or your car may be stolen.

These other negative reviews are a window into their shady business practices. BEWARE!

I had purchased set of tires for Mercedes E350 here twise. 2014 and 2018. No complanes, good job. And I was told that if I would have to fix or rotate tire, shop will do it for free. Now I came to fix small leak, and what? That will be 30$ (and I guess plus tax). And I ask to rotate tire- man in shop sad they don't have time to do it. Even I have an appointment for fixing tire. I do rotation by myself in underground parking with one spare tire for about 30 min. And I thought in shop it will be simpler, but looks like not at all. In this case I delete myself as a customer from Midas. Mowing to Kaltire.

Rear shocks and brake pad replacement was booked at the Kingsway location in Vancouver. Thought I could save some money vs dealership service pricing. Nope, I was wrong since a caliper boot was torn and needs to be replaced now. Dealership service dept is saying car is unsafe to drive currently and midas manager says it's fine until the brake pads need replacing again. Best part has to be scratches in the paint above the wheel well of both fenders they work under. This location is not recommended even for the simple services. Will not be taking my vehicles here again is the bottom line.

I was here a few years ago for an emergency as my muffler pipe was rusted off and hanging. The asian guy fixed my muffler for a reasonable price and I was on my way again. Great service.

This place should be investigated.
Had our brakes done here around a year ago and for $1200 you would expect a decent job
A year later after driving down hills and having our car shuddering and screaming we take it to a real mechanic to be told the last person that had “fixed” the brakes had slapped on some brake pads and that was it
Not only were we ripped off, our safety was compromised
Do yourself a favour and stay away from this scam

Went here for a quote on front suspension issue and received a ridiculous quote. "Midas" wears a gold crown because he taxes his subjects to the extreme.
