I remember walking hundreds of times past Milano on 8th at Columbia in Vancouver. Then one day coming back from my Granville Island and back walk, decided to drop in finally early in 2023, now I keep coming back, the staff is MARVELOUS and so every time I drop into Milano cafe I feel I am home ️ thank YOU for the nourishment the salami cheese sandwich is bliss for me. June 2nd, 23 what always melts me is kindness and Milano staff share it in BIG benevolent ways.

Love the creativity here with fun recipes, different espresso options, and house made almond milk.the space is really beautiful and the staff are super nice, happy to give recommendations and answer questions.will definitely be back!

I hardly ever write reviews but the experience I had here was notably weird. I had read the reviews and was keen on trying this place for the first time in March. First impression: the space is lovely. Second impression: few outlets, so not the place to come to set up a laptop and work. I order a latte and the person behind the counter isn’t friendly or smiling. Noted but maybe he’s having an off day. After a while, I need to use the washroom. I enter and there’s no toilet paper, so I let the staff know. They take a few minutes to finish what they are working on before they start looking…and looking. No toilet paper left in the washroom, so they look in the back. I *really* need to go now. It feels like 10 minutes pass before a worker shows me a half roll of toilet paper and tells me to not use a lot of it because that’s all they have left! I had never been to any cafe or restaurant that didn’t manage to have enough toilet paper for their customers! I haven’t been back.

Great quality coffee & tea at reasonable prices. Nice little view of the park across the street and tiny city view. Service was super kind. If you're driving note that is pay parking in the surrounding area on the streets with a 2 hour time limit

Coffee is good, but can be inconsistent & not worth the waiting time. The service is consistently bad & really slow regardless of who is serving you - none of the employees seem to want to be there. It used to be much better. There are plenty of other great coffee spots in the area for your coffee fix instead, but it will do in a pinch.

Delightful location! So cute! Love that you can smell the coffee when walking up to the place. I had a cheese and onion scone and it was so soft and delightful and yummy.had the killer mocha to drink which was top notch!

Big fan of this place and the Turksicle. As someone who is not a big coffee person I was pleasantly surprised with the Turksicle. It is coffee that does not taste like coffee and has slowly gotten me into coffee more and more.

When it comes to coffee, especially espresso, Milano is simply The Best of the best. The international judges agree. Milano is the proverbial Holy Grail.

Loved it. Definitely more coffee focused than most of the coffee places I go. Their selection of treats was limited but the carrot cake was very delicious.

Not only does Milano have amazing coffee, they have great customer service. Their Gastown location didn't have a coffee I wanted. Called their W 8th location and they were able to add what I wanted to a shipment scheduled for later that day. I didn't give them my phone number but less than 2 hours later, the Gastown location called to say my order had arrived.

Excellent roasts and customer service. Tried Frank's roast and it was complex and warm. The staff were exceptionally helpful and went out of their way to help me. Highly recommend this cafe. Great ambiance.

Just walked out of Milanos without even picking up my order which was sitting on the counter. This was due to the older man without a mask behind the counter talking at the barista for several minutes.

During these times when masks are still required it made me feel uncomfortable seeing him behind the bar breathing all over my drink. I'll definitely be telling friends about this experience and not going back. I'm really disappointed because I've literally spent hundreds of dollars there over the years and recommended Milanos to friends.

What a delight! This place offers amazing espresso drinks - where you even get to select you beans (e.g, Conca D'oro - Cocoa Vanilla Pecan, Calabreze - Lush Toffee Milk Chocolate). Their food selection includes items made fresh there as well as features from nearby bakeries. The atmosphere is 10/10, overlooking the dog park.

One of the best tasting cappuccinos in the city! They use Calabreze beans which makes the cappuccino taste exceptional. I will continue to come here at least once a month. The staff are super friendly and know their coffees!

The coffee taste was okay but not great. Cortado’s temperature was well below 60-70 degree sweet spot. The atmosphere was cozy and the jazz music was great, however there was a strong food and pepperoni smell. I usually enjoy smelling coffee in the air specially when the roasting is done in house.

Milano has some mindblowingly good coffee and tasty snacks (the chocolate rice krispie square is a 10), as well as comfy decor. It feels like it needs just a little bit more to push it to a 5 star rating. More couches? More table decor? A communal bookshelf? A few more touches of love here and there?

Spacious and with good view. And their coffee is mild and smooth. The price is also really reasonable.

What’s the point in offering award winning beans for an extra charge if the baristas don’t have even the basics skill or knowledge to pull even a mediocre shot. Probably the worst espresso I’ve had in while in Vancouver.

Such a neighborhood Gem! Love this place! Live music on Sunday too! They have great coffee and tea! My hubby loves their coffee, so smooth! I like their London Fog. Always a great place to be with friends and family!

Legendary. I feel I get the most value in my Velvet or Oro Cortado here. While there are visits when consistency of technique to get the most out of their carefully crafted Espresso beans has been noted, there's no need of questioning the richness of their product, iconic: The Best in Vancouver. Easily One of the Ten Best "Espresso Speciale" in the World.

Paid $5 (plus a $1 tip) for the smallest coffee In Vancouver (asked for a medium but it seemed like a 12oz usually you get 16oz for a medium no?) and not even a thank you or goodbye at the end. The coffee was okaaaay, and the place seemed cute inside but what a lack in over all experience. Disappointed.

Great spot for delicious coffee. Really enjoy the changing roasts for the pour-over options as it helps having a new taste every few weeks. Fairly priced & very friendly and helpful staff. Plus free WiFi!

By far the best coffee in Vancouver. Ourstanding staff - knowledgable, nice and the coffee is always on point.

Visited 3 times recently and coffee was absolutely awesome. One small suggestion is that the hand sanitizer is scented, it smells great but when you drink the coffee with your hand, or try to open up the small hole from the lid, it actually “enhance” the notes from coffee.

My favourite coffee place in Vancouver. Great decor and amazing roasts. The "La Futura" roast is incredible.

Feels very covid safe, but still a friendly atmosphere. Particularly like that they offer different espresso options, so you can pick a different flavor for your Americano whenever you're there. Also really awesome that their "drip" is actually a v60 pour over, and it's reasonably priced!

Milano shows how good coffee can be when you take it more seriously than just a caffeine injection. 10/10 will come back

Some of the best beans in Vancouver. Talented baristas craft quality espresso beverages. This particular location is open and airy with a great view of Cambie slopes area. Cool outdoor space as well. Good food for quick breakfast or lunch.

This is a pleasant coffee shop with a view over the mountains. I must say that the service can be friendly but also quite arrogant depending on the day.

I personally did not enjoy the modern vibe at Milano. Their coffee is great but otherwise they have pretty limited food/dessert options.

Maybe the finest bean roasted in the Lower Mainland - the Calabrese blend is amazing in milk drinks. The barista was nice and pulled a nice cup but I could have done without the cold fish arayan incel looking guy at the till.

Such a lovely spot to have a coffee and read a book or just chilling! We’d definitely come back. Coffee is delicious even for me because I don’t normally like to drink coffee, that’s sounds strange I know (who doesn’t like coffee? !). The downside is that this place only has 1 bathroom for all, it doesn’t get crowded here and people are just constantly waiting, almost need to plan it otherwise you can wait for quite a long time. Overall, I recommend it and would love to come back!

Possibly the best cup of mocha (Killer Mocha) I've had in my life. There's something very nice about the place too.

One of the most spacious coffee shops around. There is always space to sit, either for work or a chat. There are plenty of outlets and the chairs are super comfortable. I visited them in the winter, so only the first floor was open, but still, the place was very nice. Coffee is delicious and freshly roasted. More on a pricy side but worth it if you are looking for a high-quality coffee blend!

You can find better coffee in Vancouver, but it would be hard to find a better vibe. Milano is on the second floor of an older building that also houses their roastery, and is right across the street from a small and usually quiet park. There's a bit of a deck with seating, lots of natural light, and a spacious interior with an eclectic mix of chairs. The coffee - to my taste - is better at the nearby Elysian Coffee Roasters, but I'd much rather sit and drink coffee at Milano.

Coffee's decent - the staff aren't. Pretentious and within their own clique - very much the type that enjoy smelling their own farts.

The product was tasty - though a cooler temperature than appropriate. The delivery / rendering from payment to completion took 15 (fifteen) minutes (truth) and there was no lineup - but 2 patrons before me. No apology, and 'scolded' via, 'your's is not ready! ' Cool venue and nice layout, however, one may be drawn to assume that their success (was a fairly full house) leaves the opportunity to treat customers lesser than when not as busy - and/or supervised by a chain or 'manager / owner'.

Fast, quick and easy counter service. The drinks don't take long to make and prepare. The dirty chai tea is delicious and yummy. I will be back the next time to order it.

They've got good coffee according to a picky coffee fan. I personally don't drink coffee but have been buying beans there for him.

The BEST coffee in town. I die for Franks Espresso, but I've never been disappointed with any other choices. Great location (both for 8th and in Gastown) and friendly staff. Dogs are allowed on the patio as well.

Good coffee, great space and seating, decent food with the occasional sprinkling of hipster attitude. The barista we had was very friendly. The guy at counter on the other hand, not so much. Way too much moustached, aviator glasses hipster angst, and not enough customer service. We ordered our coffee and he quickly proceeded to ring up our order without asking if we need anything else. When we told him that we would like to order some food as well, he took a long deep breath, rolled his eyes up then asked what we would like to eat. Did not even say thank you. Thank goodness he wasn’t manning the espresso machine, I wasn’t in the mood for a coffee steeped in hipster bitterness. I would’ve have been irritated with the attitude if I didn’t find his demeanour predictable and hilarious.
