Mile One Eating House

Cafeteria posing as a restaurant. A busy Friday night saw 8 customers refused service a half hour before closing (due to closing at 9pm). The burger was a good burger but. THE SMASHED FRiES came with extra! DEEP FRIED HAIR. I mentioned this to the server. His reply? " that's not very nice is it? " and turned away.
Am I going back?
No. No I am not.

The best Mac n cheese! Or go for the Burger options! Too many to mention here, but all lovely!

The poutine here is straight up blasphemy. Stop trying to reinvent the wheel in the name of 'chef's artistic freedom' and serve a proper poutine.

Staff was amazing, vibes was, but the mac and cheese.i can"t even describe.somedays when i was not feeling good i went there for mac and cheese to feel good.i wish i had a chance to go again

Not bad food exactly but everything was generally just a little lower quality than expected for the price.

Clean environment, the chairs not that comfy, food was excellent, well presented, the service was ok and the atmosphere pretty chill but nothing fancy. We appreciated that you were open on the long weekend, and we would definitely return here when we go through again. Thank you!

Food was excellent. However, A/C was way too cold, and there were an awful lot of flies inside which meant we left as soon as we finished eating (which maybe is why they have it so cold? !). Next time we get our food to go.

We stopped here on the way back from a hike at Joffre Lake. The food was excellent- great burgers, smashed potatoes, side salads and beers.
Highly recommend!

I’m not a religious person but my goodness, eating my first Rancher’s Pie? Has been a transcendental experience! Eat one and thank me later.

Everything getting served in the restaurant with plastic feels somewhat shabby. The burger advertised as spicy was tasteless. Server seemed to be pretty unmotivated if not rude.

This place was absolutely wonderful! I got the southern Mac and cheese and I was so impressed with the fresh ingredients and combination.

They have by far, "The" nicest salads in BC. It has always been and still is a pleasure to drive out there for real honest food, and fantastic staff.
Blatantly obvious was the fact that the place was a bit understaffed, but
good grief, the once that were there worked very hard, Hats off.
And yes, I might have blown a tiny bubble in the ozone layer by driving from Vancouver up and down for a salad, I am not a cruise ship!

Best roadside cafe in all of Whistler/Pemberton! Farm fresh, tons of veggie options, seriously delicious & reasonably priced food. Talking burgers, dogs, sandwiches, wraps, bowls, salads, mac & cheese, beer, wine, coffee, desserts & kombucha. There’s also a provisions store in tons local craft meals. Aaaaand they bake their own rolls & bread which are all insanely soft & tasty. Cap it off with super attentive service & you’ve got a winner winner chicken dinner!

Came here for the rave reviews but was a bit disappointed. First off however, staff were awesome and polite, and my burger was excellent.
The rest of our food was very subpar, greasy and just a bit too salty and the food isn’t exactly cheap for a place with a patio that is next to a gravel parking lot and construction site.

You order and sit down and are forced to get take out containers and plastic utensils. Food had a food truck feel, and not the vibe I was expecting based on reviews.

If I was going to come back, I would order a burger to go and find a nice park bench.

45 minutes for a burger that was like others said mushy. Don’t waste your day here waiting for food. Was gonna give a thee star but the guy running the register seemed upset that I asked where my food was at after 40 minutes.

Kind of disappointed with my experience here. I had always wanted to try Mile One so I was excited when I had the opportunity one evening. The wait time to order took a while, but is understandable given how hard it is to find staff these days. I wanted to try one of their famous Mac and cheeses, but was shocked to see the price was $26 for a serving! I could understand the price if we were in a fine dining restaurant but this is just ridiculous. Instead, I settled for a side of regular Mac and cheese, and a burger with a chickpea patty. The burger was extremely underwhelming (super dry), and the Mac and cheese left a lot to be desired. It was also served lukewarm. The only really good things to say were that the noodles of the mac and cheese were perfectly cooked, and the atmosphere of the place is nice. Having said that, I’m not sure I will be coming back.

The response by the owner is a flat out lie. I sat at the only table that was available. When I paid for my food there was no where else to sit but that table. The apology is blame disguised as an apology. Which I do not accept. I went to into a restaurant where they don't seat you, you seat yourself, and I paid for my food and sat at the ONLY available table.
Used to go here all the time. But today I got bothered three time and asked to move when I was already sitting already paid. The guy was disrespectful and they would not give me a refund.
It was a horrible experience for a pregnant Indigenous woman to have to go through and I will never be going this place again.

Genuinely surprised, food was fantastic. Tries new beers, always a plus! Solid service as well!

Was looking forward to a great burger. Instead waited 20min burger was cold and wedge were cold.and so spicy we couldn't eat them.

Amazing eatery. The ingredients found through the very diverse choices of burgers are top grade quality.

The food was very good and to eat on the balcony was awesome with my dog was cool. Friendly staff was a plus.

Mile One Eating House is comfort food done right, without the grease or the guilt. Locally sourced ingredients, all natural beef, and no fillers or seasoning of any kind. No deep fryer in the kitchen because they are adamant on keeping with the west coast healthy lifestyle.

We came to Mile One while visiting Pemberton, and would happily travel miles to eat here again! The wait was quite long for our food, however upon receiving my order it was clear as to why that was; everything was fresh. I got the Wildfire burger with the house salad. I was expecting a kick from the smoked cheddar and jalapeno chutney listed on the ingredients, but no fire was present. That said, it was mild and refreshing, with a taste that was deep and bold. The house salad was excellent and the honey vinaigrette was on point, I must say.

I enjoyed soaking in the spectacular views of Mt. Currie from the patio. The experience is what boosts my review up to 5 stars. It really is a beautiful spot. Great people working there. I would highly recommend stopping by.

We were raving about how good the lunch was for hours after. The seafood chowder was absolutely fantastic. I had the tuna steak and I would highly recommend that as well. This place is well, run and efficient and busy and quaint and fun.
