Wow! Such an amazing experience! Glad we went. The pictures do not do this place justice. It’s so unique and the displays have some history with it. Kids loved it, I have ages 3-11 and each one of them enjoyed it.

We have known of this attraction for years but it definitely seemed like a tourist trap: fairly expensive, right downtown, inside of a hotel…HOWEVER, we were super entertained when we decided to go this fall on a rainy day. We spent nearly two hours admiring the dioramas, and our toddler was obsessed with the interactive elements. Recommend! Will likely go again when next in Victoria.

Loved it, this is a must see! Take your time and listen to the descriptions as you walk through this amazing display!

This beautiful place walks you through the history of Canada coast to coast to coast. Further to add is the history from the kingdom era to the classic and elegant lifestyle of the sixties and seventies. I became a kid the moment I entered this miniature world, mesmerized with the planes, making that rumbling noise of the blades. Have I forgitten to mention some of the famous old-time stories depicted in each window, I leave that for the explorer s to find out.

If you are in Victoria, this is a MUST SEE! The shear amount of hours put into each display is unreal, and there is a lot of them! You cannot absorb all the details in each one! And it's full of history about our country!

The smallest working lumber mill is absolutely insane, he spent so much time building it to scale, and making it work.

I cannot do miniature world justice in a review, you must see it for yourself!

The exhibits themselves were super cool and I would have really enjoyed it, however I am a service dog handler and found it quite unfortunate that only 10 minutes after entering, an out of control dog - who did not meet the requirements for access as a service animal in BC - was given entry. The dog displayed extreme anxiety/overstimulation, the handler had no control over it and made no attempt to correct it, and the dog was lunging towards and staring at my legitimate service animal until we were able to hide in a corner and let them pass. Due to the setup of the exhibits (very tight, not much space), I felt extremely unsafe as had this dog escaped from the handler, there are very few spots I could go to keep my service dog safe. In BC, it is a legal requirement for all dogs (including legitimate service animals, even if certified under our voluntary certification) to be under control and well-behaved to be granted public access, so had the employee up front been educated on the laws regarding service animals, this dog would have been refused access and not posed a threat to myself and my legitimate, highly trained service dog.

I sent them a message on Instagram after the incident occurred but never received a response, which is why I am now leaving a review. It is my hope with this review that Miniature World takes the time to reeducate their employees to create a safer and more accessible experience for disabled individuals who require the assistance of a service animal.

The level of detail in miniatures is astonishing. Much bigger than it looks. Dioramas are by varied artists and scales.

Very cool, granddaughter wanted to see it, and was very pleased with all there was to see.
05 September 2023 9:05
I thought it’s like a doll house, but wow it’s a lot more than that! There’s no better way of learning history for our 8yo son, through meticulously crafted small worlds (and outer space too!). We planned to spend 45mins here but ended up 2.5 hours. If it’s not because of parking time limits, we would have stayed longer. Thank you to all the talented creators to bring these to life!

We took our 9 yr.old granddaughter to Miniature World. I was disappointed as they have too many war displays. If I was to guess, the war theme was approximately 1/2 of the building. There is a very small section with a nursery rhyme theme and a few nostalgic home displays based on historical times. I would not recommend this for a young family outing unless the whole family is into war history.
I know things change over time however, I much preferred Miniature World in the 1980’s and 1990’s when some of the displays were outside and were more interactive from the other side of a small fence. This is my opinion, take it or leave it. I do have to say, what we saw was represented very well and hundreds, and/or thousands of hours to create the displays.

Take your time and just marvel at the amount of effort that went into these pieces.
If battles aren't your jam, move on to fairy tale or King Arthur.

Do not skip the area about the FUNCTIONAL miniature saw mill! That thing blew my mind! Gah!

Yes, it really is just a bunch of tiny scenes, but I thought it was amazing.

I wasn’t sure what to expect before going, but my daughter really wanted to go. It is extraordinary and definitely worth while! The detail and breadth of the dioramas is truly amazing. It’s very unique and so well done. Well worth a visit. Give it more time than you expect to go through it. It’s vast.

Loved it. Such fantastic displays and the workmanship put into them was top notch. Highly recommend. Huge fan of the trains and the circus display in particular.

Quite dated attraction that hasn't been updated since its opening. Still as a local I like visiting since the historic side of the displays obviously will never need changing. Also has some interaction capabilities for smaller children to keep them entertained.

This place was one of the highlights of my trip. Fantastic. Well worth the price of admission. You must go check it out!
29 December 2021 1:07
Certainly a lot of effort went into the displays. Some of the displays require attention as some items have fallen over. The experience would be most interesting to some while holding little to no value for others. I am unfortunately in the latter camp

Neat little place that showcases a lot of historical events and a bunch of fantasy. Really incredible the amount of work that can go into recreating these model
04 December 2021 19:16
This place is absolutely incredible there are so many amazing details and different types of erras, decads, absolutely something for everyone hardest part is not staying for 5 hrs so you see literally every miniature statue and funny thing or cool interactive buttons. My only gripe is there's talking about the exhibits but extremely hard to hear and focus on due to it being an overhead speaker would love to have small speakers by the exibit would love to go back!
24 November 2021 10:14
This was the best place ever! You need to go and check it out. Even if you have kids, don't have kids, are a child at heart, a history buff, it does not matter. Once you walk in, you will understand this post! Have fun!

P. S.don't put a time limit on it.
15 November 2021 17:00
Super fun, for all ages too! I couldn’t believe all the detail put into the exhibits. Definitely give this place a go, you won’t regret it!
10 November 2021 0:00
It's very cool and interactive!

They have these buttons for you to push and certain things move.

I also think the trains are pretty cool LOL

Very good if you haven't went yet!
08 November 2021 17:24
The customer service of this place was very disappointing. As a tourist we were very excited to visit but they did not let let us in despite of being there at 4: 15pm. Please train the staff well for how to talk to customers and provide them with right service. We understand due to pandemic protocols have changed but there should be a right way to communicate them to customers, shouting and being disrespectful is not the right way.
02 November 2021 17:10
Perfect for kids under 5 years of age. Though short but very informative and enlightening for all age groups especially kids. My 2 year old son was fascinated with the moving pieces on each of the displays.
02 November 2021 4:04
The exhibits were excellent with great workmanship and minute details. I easily spent about 2.5 hours there. The walking path is one-way only so when it's pretty crowded you probably won't be able to backtrack. The WW2 exhibits were right at the start and I thought they were one of the best of all the exhibits, so do take your time before moving on to the next since you can't move back to see it again!
01 November 2021 10:06
I had such a great time at miniature world! I wasn’t expecting to spend so much time there, but everything was so engaging that we wanted to look at everything!

I absolutely recommend checking it out if you have some time to kill:)
21 October 2021 14:43
I really enjoyed the miniatures but boy I didn’t much like the amount of people. Guess that’s the price of a popular place. I also would have loved to have a seat with wheels because being low makes the sets a lot more fun to look at for me. And it was uncomfortable for me as a 6’ person bending over.
18 October 2021 1:10
Pretty decent tourist attraction in the heart of Victoria. They have models at different scales of various topics. The most impressive is probably the one dedicated to Canada, from west to east. The ones depicting world war II or the Circus are also enjoyable. Good for kids and adults
08 October 2021 20:15
Been about 30 years since my last visit. Had a great time then had a great with my recent visit. Always amazing. A fun time for you and the kids.
08 October 2021 7:37
Hard to add anything that hasn’t already been said. Have you ever watched Peter Pan on Disney +. It’s very old, requires a disclaimer due to politically incorrect content (and very deservedly so), and still an awesome movie. Simply timeless!
30 September 2021 16:03
Definitely a "should stop" for any tourist to Victoria. If you don't have time to hit it up then don't, but it is definitely one of the best things to do in the lower Harbour area.

Takes about 45 min and is both enjoyable for adults, especially ones with a liking for local history as they have some extensive dioramas of historical periods in Canadian and World history, and especially good for children with working model trains, fairy tales, space ships and medieval knights to enjoy.

Quick to go through, reasonably priced and a piece of local Victorian history. Definitely something you won't regret.
25 September 2021 12:13
I was a little hesitant to be honest about this place but they were quickly erased from the first room. The miniature displays were wonderful and amazing to see. Take the time, look at everything, the detail is amazing, you won't be disappointed.
20 September 2021 17:22
A wonderful, carefully curated series of displays. Some of the materials are extremely dated in terminology, though they are aware. It's a bit expensive, but extremely unique. My kids wished the space section was bigger.
19 September 2021 4:24
I went there with a friend’s family with my two daughters. It was a walk in and we had to wait around 15 minutes in the queue to get in. By the time we entered, we bought tickets online and the mini-world inside were amazing. Many were like good quality school projects we used to make during our middle or high school. Seceral displays covered WWWI destruction, several wars, story of King Arthur, industries and what not. I do not like museums but I liked this one and so did my daughters. It's not too expensive, so it was okay to visit. We liked this place and those miniature scenic displays, running trains, flying butterflies, moving miniature cars and what not)
13 September 2021 21:09
This place was very fun and had some super detailed models. Everything was perfect other then the staff at the front desk. They were just rude. Otherwise, great place.
09 September 2021 17:00
A number of very interesting and richly detailed displays. I do with there was less of a focus on the fantasy and fairy tale displays and more on the historical ones.
03 September 2021 17:17
What a trip to fantasy world! Watching these shots from the early days of Canada, the US and the world, including the first and second world wars, as well as well known children's stories, is nothing short of amazing and similar to daydreaming while you're really awake. We spent over 2 hours there and wished we could stay more but we had a train to catch.
12 August 2021 21:59
Cute little place, if you like listening to stories and have about an hour to spent visit this place.
10 August 2021 5:21
As a bit of a miniature fan myself I figured I would enjoy this. And I freaking LOVED IT! The huge variety of displays and quality of the presentations made this an experience I'll never forget.

Also I dragged my boyfriend along and he got a kick out of it too.

12/10 an absolute banger of an afternoon date!
29 June 2021 6:09
Genuinely the best tourist attraction in a town full of great attractions. Love the themes and the models are amazing. The whole place is fun!
17 June 2021 22:06
I have loved this place since I was a child now I bring my children here. It's a magical place hidden behind an unassuming door.
03 June 2021 5:22
One of the best places I’ve visited in Victoria. This hidden treasure is a place filled with knowledge and history detailed and explained in all miniature forms. The detailing is mesmerising and breathtaking. Any lover of art or history shouldn’t miss this place. I love the exhibits and would definitely come back. It was worth the entry fee coz I spent a good amount of time inside and didn’t expect myself to be so amused. Highly appreciate the hard work behind each miniature. Though there were many miniature that I loved, y favourite one was of the railway in Canada as it was interactive and the mini trains moved around and it was just mind blowing! It is no easy task to recreate so much and I’m grateful for the exhibit.
28 May 2021 19:27
Absolutely amazing. The detail in each miniature is exceptional. My family and I highly recommend going there with your family. Lots of fun
23 May 2021 13:53
Revisited this place after 15 years! It is still so amazing, even as an adult. Loved the attention to detail in this place! Such a fun experience for kids & adults (if you love exhibitions and museum related stuff).
23 May 2021 11:17
Spent over 2hrs at miniature world & could have taken longer to really see everything. So interesting, a fun and interactive attraction that helped us, adult and child, to learn a lot. Recommend!
14 May 2021 22:59
My 9 year old loved this! You can still interact with the buttons during covid as they provide gloves that you must wear, which still allows for a fun and safe experience.
25 April 2021 12:27
I love this place, it was perfect for my 6-year-old son. We spent 2.5 hours talking about history.
23 April 2021 9:19
This place is really cool! Might be too much all at once for a small child because the models are so intricate and detailed. Probably most appropriate for ages 8+
19 April 2021 19:13
It was so awesome! Not a museum guy but since I had nothing better to do since it was raining, decided to check this place out n I'm glad we did. Recommend about 90 mins to 2 hours for this place. We had to rush through since our parking time was expiring. I believe kids 3 and up will also love this place. Tickets are a bit pricy but so worth it!
11 April 2021 23:19
Beautiful and super interesting collections. Lots of detail on each. I absolutely recommend for adults and kids. Highly recommended
09 April 2021 13:45
Very fun. It kinda reminded me of a miniature miniatur Wunderland, which I really want to visit.

10/5 would visit again.
28 March 2021 0:07
Amazing place to visit with the little ones! So many things to see (and buttons to push!). There are lots of different worlds, all more interesting than the one before. We spent a good 30-40 minutes there. Would come again for sure!
