My experience at Minit-Tune and Brake was beyond what I expected. I was roadtripping from California to Vancouver and during the trip my radiator went out on me. I got it fixed in Oregon and was disturbed to hear a high pitch noise coming from my engine as I got into Vancouver. I decided to get it checked in at this Minit-Tune and Brake after being declined from several mechanics due to not making an appointment the week prior (completely understandable). However, Dan from Minit-Tune heard me out and took me in.

Thinking it might be a quick fix, the shop discovered there were several issue with my Jeep which was beyond concerning since I was a US citizen, living/traveling in this car, hundreds of miles away from home. All in all, my water pump, sensors, thermostat, crankshaft seal, battery and marker light all had to be replaced and they were able to diagnose all of these issues within a short amount of time. End result, everything was fixed in two days, they worked overtime to have my car up and running and I was able to drive up to Whistler asap which was always the plan.

To top it all off, Dan was kind enough to message me in the middle of the trip to ask how my car was running. Customer service like this is pretty rare nowadays. Dan and his head mechanic/team are more than empathetic to the stress of a bad car situation. If you're having car issues in the Vancouver area, it would be a disservice to yourself not to work with this Minit-Tune & Brake Auto Centre.

I brought my SUV here for new brake pads and rotors. Danish was very professional, and his team provided fantastic service. The price was as quoted (and VERY reasonable compared to other shops). No pressure to buy more service, just honest feedback about the car, and other things that may need work in the future.

I waited while the brakes were replaced, and watched other customers come and go. All of them were happy with the service, and one had been coming to Minit-Tune for over 30 years!

Additionally, the staff turnover is really low. While waiting I learned that 2 of the workers had been there for over 25 years, and one just retired after 32 years. That's the sign of a great business.

I will be coming back here for all future servicing of my Hyundai, and highly recommend them.

I have had my aging Toyota tuned for years at Minit Tune and never really needed any big repairs so getting the back break drums replaced AND needing an injector cylinder (I took it in because it was shaking) was a bigger than normal expense. But I am thankful that Minit Tune took the time to talk it through so that I decided on safety first and chose to get the breaks fixed, the larger expense instead of the other at this point. I was more than pleasantly surprised when the manager Danish was able to do both for a VERY reasonable price to keep everyone happy, including his mechanic who had spent the whole day figuring out what the shaking problem was! It runs like a charm again AND is safe. So yes, happy. Thank you so much.

I brought my truck in for repair at last minute, the staff were very friendly and polite. My truck was completed in a few hrs, I have nothing but great things to say. Works was honest and fair. I would recommend this business to anyone. 5 stars! I will have no hesitations bringing my truck back!

$425 to put in a new battery, what can I say except ripoff. Sure, they're polite but still robbery. Left with a check engine light still on; thought the problem was only a bad battery, never bothered to tell me until I came back to pick up the car.

Like most folk, I have a healthy skepticism of auto repair shops. Finding one you can trust is like finding a good dentist – you really hope you’ll never need one, but if you do, you’re SO thankful to have a good one.

I did considerable research and comparison shopping before choosing Minit-Tune. The first thing that sets them apart is being straight with you about pricing. Other companies quoted MUCH lower prices on the phone, but once they get you on the hoist, they hit you with myriad surprise uncharges that double the original quote. There’s also the question of OEM parts vs cheap no-name parts, and after going over the bill line-by-line, it was clear that Minit-Tune didn’t cut corners. When 1,600 KG of steel and glass carrying my loved ones needs to stop in the rain NOW, I want quality brake pads, not something pressed together from whatever was cheapest to get ahold of.

As an aside, they could have said a brake line flush was necessary, but instead they tested it and said it was good for another 6 months at least, taking the time to explain to me why. That's how trust is built.

So a big thanks to the guys for providing a top quality brake job at a fair price. It’s a get-what-you-pay-for world, and while I’m a very savvy shopper, I also know the wisdom behind the phrase, “Penny wise and dollar foolish. ” When it’s time for any brake service in the future, I’ll certainly be back.

Excellent service. Danish & his crew helped diagnose my issue, and keep the parts & labour costs very reasonable. I needed same day help on my brakes, and they bent over backwards to accommodate - ready by end of same day. I really appreciate their help & I recommend them!

Didn't feel like I got a great deal, but also didn't feel like they completely ripped me off. Probably won't go back, still unclear about the work and not convinced I paid a good price for what was requested.

Recently got reply from the shop to clarify my concerns. Sometimes you get one shot. This is one of those times. Won't be going back because I didn't feel like what I got was of the value I paid. If you need to reach out to me to fix that, then you should've handled that properly the first time.

No one needs some heavy handed social media police to be stressing people for leaving honest reviews.

Called to check on services, was asked to hold to minute and was disconnected while on hold for more then 10min. Awful.

Nice place! Great people! I needed to replace rear brakes and rotors on Mercedes. Job was done with in good time and price. Peter has a perfect customer skills and mechanics are very professional and helpful. Definitely recommend this shop and - I'LL BE BACK!

It was my first visit. I went in for the oil change package. They were quick, efficient, and friendly. They did a full inspection, but couldn't find anything to repair so I assume that they are honest. I'm a satisfied customer!

Going to be recommending everyone here! I don't know much about cars and always have my dad on speed dial when I'm at a shop so I don't get ripped off but that did not happen here. I’m from out of town and had to drive home the next day and I thought something was wrong with my brakes. They got me in that day and fixed my brakes. Super grateful and their service was amazing!

Got new brakes on my last visit. Also needed a new brake drum. Have been having some issues with new ones installed but they have been really great in trying to rectify the situation. Fingers crossed. Super friendly management.

It’s so hard to find an auto repair shop you trust, but that’s what I found at Minit. I’ve brought my vehicle here a few times now, and even though I don’t know anything about cars, they always take the time to explain everything to me. They do great work, and there have never been any surprise costs. They’re also so good about calling with a detailed quote before any work is done. I’m so glad I found this shop, and I can’t recommend it enough.

We've been going to this Minit-Tune for the past 17 years. We now live in Burnaby but still bring our car in to Peter and his amazing team. Honest, hard working, great communication with customer, professional, efficient, friendly. They even remember your name. 5 stars from our family.

I’ve twice taken my vehicle here, the first for an oil change and AC charge, and the second for exhaust system replacement. I found myself needing the latter as an urgent repair, and Pete found a slot for me on a fully booked day and turned the job around in under three hours. I'm super impressed with the integrity and honesty in this shop - which is unfortunately not easy to find these days. Well done, Pete and team. You have a new fan.

After spending 500 dollars at another shop to help fix a brake problem with no luck, I gave Minit-Tune a last ditch effort to fix my issues. Within an hour, my brakes were serviced, and all noise issues were eliminated. The pricing was extremely fair and the service was great. I called ahead of time and made an appointment and they honoured my time. I asked for a quote on the phone and he was as detailed as he could be and provided a range as best he could without seeing my car first. After they looked at my car they told me what needed to be done and i didn't understand what needed to be done so the gentleman who works the front desk pulled pictures up on the Internet and spent time explaining it to me. I was charged what they quoted in person. I had to have my car picked up by a certain time and they honoured that time period as well.

As far as the man who was working the desk, wish I remembered his name but it was Feb 11th, some people just have the ability to work with the public and that is this guy. He was kind, accommodating, and very clear. I ask a lot if questions to make sure I understand what I am spending my money on. He made me feel like it was his pleasure to help and not that I was bugging him or putting him out. Very nice person. Thank you

Kind, calm and helpful. Peter and his crew are calm, confident and capable. They are fast and I felt like they went above and beyond in helping me keep my '04 Subi impressa on the road. Peter is considerate while explaining the needs of the vehicle and why it's necessary. He also will do recommendations that reduce the amount he will charge. For example, I really need a whole new exhast system but he said it could wait but then I would need to pay for the labour but if I did it now with the other job he would charge for the labour. Then I picked up the car and the starter motor should terrible.he compted me the job! They are great and I recommend them highly

I had a great experience getting my brakes done!
I had just bought my Volks Wagon and didn't realize I was missing the wheel nut key.
Without missing a beat the technician asked if I was comfortable with forcibly removing the two wheel nuts I said yes, and he removed them in such a way as to not wreck the car.
After the rotors and pads were changed they replaced the missing wheel nuts with new ones!
Everything works perfectly, I couldn't have been happier with the service and results!

I’m not sure where to start with the guys at Minit Tune. Sorry for TMI, but they have honestly saved my bacon so many times.

Coming from the UK and being a girl, I’m always a little worried that I’m going to get ripped off (taken advantage of) by a garage, at home or in Canada.

I dropped my van in for the out-of-province inspection and they were super helpful in getting me in - MANY times - usually in and out same day. They recommended other specialist businesses that could potentially fix some things cheaper than themselves which in itself is amazing service.

Once my van was brought up to standard, passed and sold I picked up another car.

This car broke down on me the day I bought it, coming off the ferry at Tsawwassen. I called 3 towing companies for quotes then called Minit tune to see if they could replace my alternator.
The guys at Minit Tune called their own towing company and found me a much better rate, I dropped the key in in the AM and picked it up all sorted, same day.

Same car got broken into on Thursday (I have really bad luck with vehicles, if you hadn’t noticed) and someone tried to steal it - luckily I have an immobilizer - called Minit Tune, got me a tow truck and again fixed same day. They even topped my washer fluid up (as the dashboard warning light was on) and put a screw in for one of my loose mud flaps without me having said anything to them!

Honestly can’t rate Minit Tune Kitsilano enough and would 100% recommend to anyone.

So thankful to have found a garage I can trust!

I love these guys. I see them far too frequently to call it a casual affair. Lol. They are straight forward with their analysis of the work to be done. They in no way are trying to sell you the farm. That, in itself, is priceless. Im a loyal now.
