Was just ok, not your typical middle Easter Shawarma. Had some different garlic sauce that wasn’t the usual, no hummus or tabouli. A bit disappointed but overall ok

I just went to pick up chicken shawarma plate and not only waited 10 min but I noticed that my plate was served with leftovers, still I decided to take it. In fact upon I got home. My food was cold and it was missing the pita bread. ‍️ I attempted to call the number that shows on their website but nobody answered and the voice mail was full. So plan b is to post a review. I should get a new plate in compensation.

I’ve been searching for a good shawarma place for a while and don’t know why it took me so long to find this place. Loved it. Great fries too which I didn’t expect. Definitely my new go to spot.

Every time I've been great service. The last time I went was just before closing and one of the workers hooked me up with some amazing feta fries. It wasn't on the menu but it really should be, they gave me donair sauce and feta cheese on their already amazing fries. They could charge an arm and a leg for them and they'd be worth it. This is my official petition to put feta fries with donair sauce on the menu

I was served chicken that was clearly sitting on their grill for a while instead of freshly cut off the roast. It was dry and tough. Portion size was small.

Consistently good food. Wait.ownership has changed and the food quality has now gone downhill. Sad because it's been a regular joint for me for 20 years. They should bring back the old cooks to teach the new cooks how it's done.

Would have appreciated knowing they stop serving food and switch to only serving appetizers at a certain time of night before arriving.

Today I had my best Mitra experience yet. There was a chef working there that I hadn’t noticed before. He was sporting a shaved head and looked like he knows his way around a kitchen.

He made the best chicken shawarma I’ve ever had in my life. It was thinner than usual, like the way they sell them at street food stands in the Middle East. The chicken was perfectly crispy and charred. Everyone around me was commenting on how good it smelled and looked.

Any time I walk by and notice him there I’m getting a damn shawarma, regardless if I’m hungry or not. That really was an amazing experience.

Shawarma beef was terrible. They used something like cooked Bologna Sausage instead of meat and beef.
Smell, taste and quality was terrible we couldn't eat our sandwich as you see on the picture that I attached. I don't recomend this place

I came here a few months ago with my family and I was so disappointed by the food and the service we received. The person serving us wasn't wearing his mask properly and the food was terrible quality. Portions were small and the food itself was incredibly bland. We both had shawarma wraps hoping for a nice grab and go meal as we were very hungry! We've had much better shawarma in other locations across the city that actually had flavour with fresh ingredients. I was so disgusted by the chicken that. I didn't even finish it and gave it to my partner (who ended up throwing it away). It was such a waste of money going here and worst of all, I was still hungry afterwards.: - (

The in store server is not Jolly, it seems that she doesn't like her job. It was my first time in thsi restaurant and she is not helpful at all. No recommendations, no greetings and not polite! So rude!

About the food quality though is not that great either for the price. Not that tasty and juicy, in what ive been looking for in Shawarma.

I dont recommend this place and for sure I will never come back.

We went to Mitra on Family Day after a long day of moving.
There was seven of us in our party.
After our experience we will never go back again.
We sat outside in their patio area. Because it was so cold outside, we were glad they had an overhead heater. Unfortunately, it only worked on one half of the patio. We told we couldn't sit in the heated area because it was for drinking only so we had to sit in the unheated section. It was also very drafty as the walls are only built of cheap aluminium and glass.
One of the members of the party actually got a sliver from the wooden bench.
I received a cut on my finger from the aluminum door.
The wrap I ordered was so poorly made as soon as I unwrapped it, half of it ended up on me and on the floor.
It was the worst wrap Ii have ever had.
I complained to management but the owner disappeared so I could not talk directly to him.
Never going back again.

Awesome takeout spot (you could also eat-in) for shawarma. They slice it right off the rotisserie for you so it has those little crispy bits. I can usually get two lunches by adding extra hummus, salad and pita the second day. Friendly owners!

Been having some serious cravings for donairs/shawarmas lately (ever since that time when our fav donair shop was closed when we got there). So, when we found ourselves in the Mt. Pleasant area of Vancouver, we decided to try grabbing some donairs from a place that we’ve never been to before… Mitra Canteen.

As with most donair shops, there wasn’t too many donair options… so we picked one each of the Chicken Donair Wrap and the Beef and Lamb Donair Wrap ($10 each). I thought it was a bit odd that you couldn’t pick just “beef” or just “lamb” and that it came as “beef and lamb”. Each donair comes with hummus, lettuce, onions, tomatoes, tabouli and your choice of tzatziki or tahini sauce. We also ordered some Veggie Samosas ($1.50 each) – I know, I know… seems a bit of an odd mix with donairs.
So, the samosas were large and came with a thick but limp shell that encased the potato chunks. The flavour of the veggie filling was okay but I was a bit turned off at how soft the exterior of the samosas were. It was a little bit better after we heated it up in the oven a bit but it still never crisped up enough.

I found the donairs to be very loosely wrapped and messy to eat. One of donairs had the wrapper wrapped within the wrap so so we had to try to carefully pull that out so we didn’t bite into it. The tzatziki came served on the side – wish it would have been put inside the wrap but that probably would have taken more effort. I also didn’t really taste the tabouli in the wrap and the meat didn’t taste well seasoned.

Overall, I was disappointed with the food here and thought they needed to put in a bit more effort.

Food is okay but service is "TERRIBLE". The manager Paulo won't do anything to fix the situation with wrong order. He is just sitting in the chair won't even bother to help.

Average shawarma, not very good falafel. The shawarma on fries hits the spot. Great place to grab food while at Abe's next door though.

Average place, average shawarma plate.

The meat, rice and salad was pretty decent - I liked the salad dressing a lot, but the small portion of hummus was watery.
Unfortunately my plate didn’t fill me up enough at all.

I had my food inside, but got plastic cutlery.

Compared to other Donair places I found the food quite tasteless as their sauces doesn’t have any spices and the rice are too thick so really hard to chew.

I love this place so much! The owner is the best and the food. OH Man the FOOD! Tasty and fresh. We had their house made burgers. So JUICY! I'm coming here for my cheat days from now on!
