Moby's is still our favorite Fish & Chips in the area and has been around for 45+ years. Still great food, reasonably priced, nice staff and the oysters were particularly excellent. Open all winter season and Moby only does eat-in or take-out. No uber, skip the or any other delivery service because this restaurant's belief is "fresh and hot". The atmosphere is what I expect for a seaside restaurant.

Haven' t been in a long time so had a craving. My regrets it was by far the worst fish and chips i have ever had there. Fish so greasy undercooked, small pieces, not much good to say. Should have given it away to the seagulls.

My boyfriend and I went to this place yesterday. I felt sick right after I had a piece of fish and chips. Both items were very greasy and I felt nausea and stomach pain right after. My boyfriend also felt sick.

Was great food just wish more chicken strips instead of the 2 or have a add on with more strips.

Solid fish and chips joint - exactly what you would expect. However it seems like there is always a long line to order.

Forget the place next door, and do yourself a favour. You will not find a better halibut or tartar sauce anywhere. Period.

Cute cozy place, friendly accommodating staff… gives you the “you are at home among family” vibes.

Honestly its THE BEST fish & chips you will ever eat! The tartar sauce is on point, perfect texture and tartness. Portions are huge, and the service is always friendly and helpful. If you have a craving this is THE spot to go!

Portion size is great and they always give you an extra piece. Fish is fresh and tasty. A tiny bit greasy bit otherwise great place to visit.

Apparently they charge for the tarter sauce! Imagine, fish and chips where you get charged for the tarter sauce! Not sure about the ketchup. Would recommend you eat elsewhere.

We ordered some fish & chips to go as well as some calamari! Both dishes were awesome and taste great.

Always a line up to get fish n chips, but it's worth the wait a 1pce is actually 2 pce and a 2 pce is a 3 pce just an FYI. Great place to grab some food and sit across the street at the beach.

Fish and Chips show right across from the beach on the strip. Usual F&C fare with chowder and tartar sauce and the like. When you order 1 piece, you get 2,2 pieces you get 3; and so on. The fish is cod it looks / feels / tastes like. Overall, the takeaway service is good and quick, they make the fish fresh for you and the chips are likewise crispy and yummy. The tartar sauce appears homemade, and a good complement to the fish. Had the clam chowder which was quite good too; white version, very creamy and lots of stuffins in there. The fish was cooked well, albeit a bit greasy but i guess that's what you get for F&C on the beach head. The menu also has burgers including fish burgers, as well as a seafood platter with breaded shrimp and oysters and scallops. The spot certainly is popular, and a great location; just order and take away and walk across the road to the beach and eat right there. Pricey, but on par with most resort style places serving the same fare ($30ish for 2+1 pieces and fries). Would come again, but there are multiple such F&C places on the strip to try as well.

Went there on advice of a friend and was disappointed. Fish was small and batter was thick and saturated in grease. Was very busy with dine in and takeout so maybe just had a bad day.

This place is still good, still fun, and still very good value. The waitstaff was great. The decor is the same pretty much as it was 35 years ago. I know ownership has changed, but it's still the same great fish and chips you've come to expect. Crispy batter on the fish. The coleslaw is a winner. The pints of beer are crispy and yum. It's not the best fish and chips in White Rock, but it's darn close. If you take the food to go and bring it onto the beach, a seagull will snatch it up quicker than you can blink.

Got three pices when I ordered a 2 pc. Thought that was generous but honestly the pieces barely had any meat.it was oily just coating and Fries were ok too. Definitely not like before. Not coming back: (

Classic place always fresh made. Wait time is not too bad like 15 minutes. I think it has been around for over 30 years. The extra free cod piece is nice for a group meal.

Great food, rude customer service. Over 20 of us went there, everyone ordered food, few of us asked for a piece of lemon (obviously goes well with fish), she said " next one wants lemon, I will charge for it "? $#@&.
We dropped over $300 for the food and you want to charge us for a piece of lemon? Very cheap thinking and the way she said it was not pleasant. Definitely not going there again!

Best fish and chips in the white rock area and super friendly staff! Highly recommend to anyone trying to find good and very affordable fish and chips!

I have to say I was really disappointed. The fish was heavy and oily. The fries were semi cold and the tarter was heavy and too tangy.the fish pieces were small but the flavor was good and they gave lots of napkins. You have to pay extra for ANY tarter which is ridiculous to me

Go to Coney island down the street trust me.

Historic restaurant with the food tomorrow back it up. It’s pretty busy but the wait is well worth it! I recommend the jalapeño poppers and their classic fish and chips. The onion rings and the fish burger were pretty fantastic as well - there’s just a lot of food so make sure to go in with an empty stomach!

Always the best. I crave the cod and chips often. I would buy the tarter sauce in a jar if they sold it. The staff gives you a feeling of home. The place is
charmed with lots ornaments and callages. If you don't have alot to talk about this restaurant will fill you mind with conversation pieces. Treat yourself to the memory. Awesome menus it calls me back again and again. Oh yeah when you buy one piece of cod you get 2 pieces and so on. Yummy deep fried pickles too.

Big portions and great quality. Can't go wrong with this place when down by the water. Definitely be coming again when in White Rock.

Food is very Satisfying, very tasty, for a very fair price. Great place to Eat and enjoy the beach view would highly recommend the fish and chips here

SUPER slow. Took an hour to get chicken strips and fries. Don’t go here if you have things to do.

This is a great place to eat, huge portions of really good fish and chips. Would highly recommend. Hit up low tide on the beach then get some fish and chips for lunch with your family for a great day out

The best fish and chips around! Always perfectly cooked and the portions are generous. You wont be hungry for that ice cream you may have wanted before you ate.

My husband heard about this place on the radio so we came here great location right across for the beach portions are more then you ask for tartar sauce delicious great atmosphere very clean they also have takeout for people who wanna eat on the beach

A white rock institution! Try the coleslaw! They give big portions. The onion rings are super good (as long as you are completely apathetic towards your waistline) and the tartar makes the fish supremely yummy.

They expanded recently, so pick up your phone orders on the right and order in person on the left.

Not an original idea, but get take out and hit the beach. Yes, the seagulls will stalk you.

I heard they had the best fish and chips and was not disappointed. The chips tasted great and the fish almost melted in your mouth. Even their starter sauce was delicious. I highly recommend Moby Dick's!

Delicious fish and chips! I only go here for fish and chips, their in-house made tartar sauce is the best! However sometimes the fish can be overfried.but other than that it’s very fresh! Their calamari is really good too! Reasonable price. Just be aware that they give an additional piece of fish to your order.

Best Fish and Chips in BC! This is our go to restaurant for authentic British Fish & Chips. Whenever we need a fix, we head north into Canada to the beautiful, quaint, seaside town of White Rock. While there are several other places to get fish and chips in town, Moby's is the best. No matter what size you order, you'll get an extra piece of fish, so plan accordingly. We like to take home the left overs. They reheat perfectly in the toaster oven. They also have the tastiest tartare sauce I've ever had. Don't forget to grab an after dinner lolly on your way out. They have the Mega Double Smarties lollies, which were always a childhood favorite!

To our disappointment, we felt a little robbed when we ordered our meal and noticed the people after us received a massive amount of extra fries and tartar sauce! And I’m talking a giant heap of fries. Sure we only bought one piece, and they bought three pieces of fish, But it ‘leaves a bad taste’ (hehe, pun intended) seeing someone else get a tone of free stuff when we’re all paying / return / loyal customers.

On a positive note, we do enjoy the quality. We’ve taken many friends here and they all love it. I also love how when you order “one piece” of fish, you actually get two pieces.

I would have rated a 4.5, but we’ll see how the next visit goes.

Very good fish and chips, not over battered and very crispy when served. Homecut fries. Excellent bang for you buck, the pcs where huge.

Did a take out. They got the food ready on the time they promised. I tell you what, the fish and chips was really nice and the portion size was massive. One portion had two good size fish unlike other places where their fish is one piece and small. Was not able to finish the portion. Best one so far. Will be going again for sure. Can't wait for nice weather so that I can buy and eat there.

Great fish and chips. Tarter sauce is great. Just rememeber 1 fish meal is 2 fish meal. 2 fish meal is a 3 fish meal.

The fish was delicious and fresh and batter was crispy not greasy. The fries were great too. Gave it a 4/5 because the server was not very attentive but the food is great!

Pick up or drop-in to this wonderful ocean front fish and chips restaurant for some seriously good fish and chips. Their popcorn shrimp is worth trying out too.

Great prices and you always get one extra piece than what you ordered.

Best place fish & chips. The portions are large and the amount of fries they give you is insane (in a good way). The fish is always really fresh. The staff have always been really friendly and this place is also open all year round.

Compared Moby Dicks to Coney island next door. Dont be fooled by the huge crowds at Moby D. Fish thicker gummy/chewyish saturated with oil.
At coney usland you get a bigger, thinner, crispier.lightly battered piece with ample fries.
Dont be fooled by Moby Ds.everything about their fish and chips is lousy, substandard and all about gobs of batter and grease. If you want to have a heart attack, go there. You couldnt pay me to go back. Yuk!

This has been a go to restaurant for fish and chips ever since I was a little kid. The interior decorations are the same which in my opinion is a bonus. Like travelling back in time. Great food and staff. Of course you must have the fish and chips to complete the experience.

Since 1975, this restaurant has had consistently great food and is open, all year round. Named after the whale in Melville's classic children's book from the 1850's. This whale themed restaurant is unique with everything Moby and By the Sea. They offer a take-away box and your best bet is the platter for a group. They have fried chicken but really this is a seafood restaurant.

Moby Dick's is our favorite place for fish and chips in White. The food is excellent! The service great! The atmosphere is casual with plenty of humor on the walls. There are even whales hanging from the ceiling. There is a little outdoor patio. Even if you have to wait, the food is worth it.

It lives up to all of the hype. I wish I could have brought my grandfather here, he would have loved the place.
Unless you are incredibly hungry you don't need to order more than the two piece fish and chips, they give you an extra piece of fish on top of what you order and they are massive pieces. A little sea salt and malt vinegar makes the whole meal complete, give it a shot.

Had the cod. It was terrible!
Left a lump n our throat. I didn't eat the batter, my friend did.
She said it was very greasy!
Never again. She is from Jamaica & I raved about how good it always was. I had to appologize to her.
I took her to White Rock as a treat just b4 she returned home.
So sad
