Hidden gem! If you come in the right season (we went in August) you might catch the phosphorescence! It was stunning beautiful and otherworldly! The campsites here are lovely as well. Even the walk in sites are great - located in a big open grassy field with some shade from trees along the edges, picnic tables at each site, and plenty of room between each site. The reserved sites are scattered amongst the trees - many of them overlooking the harbour. Gorgeous! Campground staff were also just lovely!

Always a delightful experience. Great areas to explore. Other campers definitely have great vibes and are respectful. Which only guarantees memorable times.

I just passed by in a rainy day but it is beautiful. There are picnic areas plus the campground. I can imagine during summer must be amazing for swimming or paddled boarding.

A great spot for families, solo campers or small group of friends. We stayed at one of the walk-in sites. There are wheel barrels near the ranger station you can take to bring your stuff to your site. It is not too far from the parking lot. All the sites have a raised tent pad, a fire pit, a picnic table and a VERY useful metal box to store your food and avoid the occasional sneaky raccoon that will want to steal your provisions. The bathrooms are spacious and are maintained very clean. Big plus! No showers, but really, it is camping afterall! There are drinking water taps available. This is a great spot. Even when it is full, it does not feel crowded.
*Things to do
There are a couple of short hikes that lead you to quiet and beautiful shell beaches that many times you find empty and can enjoy by yourself. The sunsets are amazing! Grab a towel, snacks and head to the main beach to enjoy it. Vegetation is beautiful, with arbutus tress, pines and seals, eagles, and wildlife around.
We also saw kayakers and there is a day use area.

Do not try to wake up and book Garibaldi, Rubble Creek. We were 8 people and tried to book it right at 6 AM and it was sold out at 6.00.02! It is impossible, something is wrong with booking this trail! This is the second time we tried to book it and the same thing happened first time too. Look at the picture I shared, right at 6.00 AM

Beautiful campsite and very well maintained. We had the group spot and it was great - had a sink, food storage and pavilion with a fire pit and lots of picnic tables. Park staff were friendly and helpful and a short walk to beautiful shell beaches!

We will be back!

The first marine park in BC is still the best. Great walk around the shell peninsula and along the beaches.
Some great restaurants. We loved lunch at the marina's cafe/restaurant. Smoked salmon chowder was *****. I am still hoping that they post the recipe.
And don't forget to take the Hummingbird bus to the pub near Sturdies Bay. Just make sure your radio request is Fats Domino.

We never pass by.

Inside of the outhouse smelled good, the outside, not so much. The rest of the park seems quite nice as we spent 5 minutes walking to the wonderful bus to the pub.

Great campground, mostly young families, even on a long weekend. I do wish that the staff would be a bit more strict about the acceptable fire size, there was one down the hill from us that made me nervous.

What a wonderful stay - the sites and location is superb (stunning beach and view), and the campsite is immaculate! It was almost as if there were little fairies working in the background, as I never saw people cleaning, and yet the toilets were the most spotless drop toilets Ive ever seen. Can't recommend this place highly enough.

This is a well maintained Provincial Park. Camp sites with tent platforms, tables on concrete pads and racoon boxes. Lively trails to hike and beaches to explore. There are many mooring buoys for the boaters as well.

Clean, friendly Park staff, beautiful. Even with the walk in, (uphill every time!) - this is still My happy place.
