Excellent meal! Had the honey garlic ribs came with two sides and cornbread all was cooked to perfection! Mia was our server she was fantastic always there when you needed her! All in all a great experience!

Awesome service and received our meal in record time! So good! The waitress was very attentive to my girls food since she is lactose intolerant.

Edit: the general manager reached out to us and apologized for this and will send a discount. We truly appreciate the phone call. It shows they care and we understand we all make mistakes once in a while.

Sorry. We love this restaurant but the lady at the front took our number. There were no seats to wait so we went for a walk to the store close by. We rushed back when we got the text but she said she put as at the end of the wait list. We tried to explain what happened (there was a line at the dollar store- took us maybe 8 min to get there). But she was very defensive and didn't want to hear. We had our 5 year old with us. So we didn't want to get into arguments. Please train your young staff to be more friendly and caring to customers. This happened today.

Koral was super nice, and very friendly and had a bevy in my hand asap while I waited for my take out. Also made sure my order was correct and all the sides and cutlery was good to go! Feel good vibe! Keep up the great work girls and gents! I will be back!

The "Brisket Burger" is probably one of the best burgers I've ever had, at least of any that come to mind. Every aspect of it was perfection, and with how far a dollar goes these days, it's also a good value comparatively speaking. The fries and onion rings are also pretty good, but nothing special. The loaded baked potato was okay, but a bit dry and chewy. I had a cocktail with the meal called "Papa's Lemonade", it was done very well. If you like whiskey lemonade with some twists, I highly recommend it. The servers seemed a bit robotic and dull, not much conversation or banter to be had with them, but they were at least timely.

We had a great experience! Kennedi was super sweet, answered all our questions about the food and was prompt and friendly.

Kailey was amazing! We were a party of 12. My son's birthday dinner! She did great! A smile all the time! Thanks Kailey for being so good!

Politely asked server if she could tilt the blinds to stop the setting sun from blinding myself and my husband. She laughed in my face the third time I asked and never did do it.

I go to Montana's quite frequently and I think tonight was the last straw. Besides the steak salad which has pictures of avo, and it's listed in the ingredients, they then say it's not available at the location. Our food tonight took 45 minutes - one of the dishes was plain nachos and cheese for my son. It was already late, we'd come from a school function, were hungry and tired and then waited and waited and waited in a half empty restaurant. Then the nachos arrive and the reason we're given for the long wait is that the nachos had been burnt and they had to be redone, a dish that would take 5min, seriously? The steak was dry, half cold and hard already, but I was too hungry, tired and fed up to even try and address this. On average I think 1 in 4 meals we've had there has been an awful experience for at least one at the table. It's located at a spot that's really convenient so we've gone back and given them way too many chances. From now on I'll just drive the distance and have an enjoyable experience instead. I'm done.

Kirsten was such a lovely server and she was so sweet putting up with our big group the other week. Thank you for everything:)

Some of the worst service we've ever had. Waited and waited to order. Asked for a drinks menu after ordering food and waited and waited for the server to return to take the drink order. Asked other servers to send our server back and still waited so long that I had almost decided to forget ordering a drink. The ribs were flavorful but not tender. The cornbread was small, dry, hard and greasy. The "loaded" baked potato had little to nothing on it and was cold upon arrival. The baked beans side dish was nothing special and was about two tablespoons in size. The breading on the chicken wings was hard and greasy. We have had a couple of far better experiences at this same location a few years back, but doubt well ever go back. Have only recently had far better food and service at half the price at other local restaurants. A real shame.

After reading my initial review Montana's quickly reached out to me to follow up and apologize. They have forwarded a gift certificate and we will give them another try. I hope to be able to offer a far better review after that. They deserve alot of credit for the followup, the apology and the gift card. Thank you.
We returned August 12th to use our gift card and our food and service couldn't have been better! We have updated our earlier very low ratings and comments to reflect that. Thanks so much!

Ordered 10 oz strip loin. Found out after quite a bit of a wait that they were out of 10 ounce strip loin. Most insincere “sorry about that” I have heard from a server in a long while. OK, if I wanted steak it would have to be the sirloin. Asked for it to be cooked “as rare as possible”. It was cooked that way but a VERY tough piece of beef. For the $$, I would have done better to have bought a better quality steak and cooked it myself! Won’t be going back.

Terrible food and a complete waste of money. Dried-up chicken and pita, with salty spinach dip, not edible.

Kailey was an amazing waitress! Recommended the tacos and sweet potato fries and it didn’t disappoint!

Worst thing.

Went for our Son and his friend’s birthday party with a large group. All the food was really good and the service was excellent. The bills were all divided up correctly. The boys were all treated to a birthday song with ice cream. The server took good care of us with drinks constantly refilled. The food all came out together in a good amount of time. We went last year for the same party and will be back next year again.

Bri, Server at Montanas, Nanaimo always greets you with a smile and provides excellent service. The best! 5 Stars!
