Great layout! It's a tough course. I think the slope is too low compared to other golf courses. Right now Morningstar is a 3 rating because of overseeding and punched fairways. There are a lot of patchy areas due to lack of watering. Too many IMO. The golf course has not reflected the course condition in the current October rate. Disappointed.

This place has everything it needs to be a 5 star course.except maintenance. Save your money - honestly. Half the greens are infected with fungus and are awful, awful condition, but the fairways? These are some of the worst fairway conditions I've ever seen on a golf course full stop. There are holes where the grass is non existent or just patchwork. You can fully expect to be playing your shots through hard pan clay, mud and standing water.

The bunkers here are an absolute joke. The "sand" is more like unscreened driveway aggregate. You will 100 percent damage your clubs playing out of this garbage, as every single hole is full of rocks.

One of their "signature" holes that features a massive Scottish links style deep bunker is lined with giant rotting beams that havent been replaced since the turn of the century. If you're unlucky enough to end up here, you can chowder up your ball on the bunker sand / 60 grit sandpaper. Horrible.

The tee boxes are no better, several of them have been decomissioned because they are just clay mounds in favor of dirty old outdoor hitting mats that won't take tees.

Other oddities include confusing signage such as "do not drink the water" right next to a sign that reads "potable drinking water bottle fill station" next to a yellowing schedule 40 pvc pipe sticking a foot out of the ground with a dirty old home depot ball valve on it, teeming with an inviting layer of green mold.

Having said all that, this course absolutely has immense potential if this course ever decided to spend more than 100 dollars a year on maintenance - the wildlife, tree lined fairways, and interesting doglegd would make this a very challenging and fun course.

The staff here were also super friendly and hardworking. It's pretty clear that the main problem with this course is it's horrible management.

I'll play it again sometime soon and happily ammend my review should things change.

Course was in nice shape after a few rain events. Hitting off of mats already on a couple of holes. Greens had been punched recently, but other than the first hole, were very puttable. Shot my best round of the year, and my lowest 9 ever (40 on the back). Love this course.

The quadrant system the Marshall said was awesome needs to come to a stop nobody likes it. The price is too much for the concrete sand traps but it is a fun challenging course.

Nice layout, lots of interesting holes. Course is in good condition even though it has been very dry the last weeks.
Pace of play could be improved, there has a marshal been driving around and was aware that we and at least the flight in front all all in the back had to wait on every tee box for some minutes. Then we where let trough by the flight in front and they're flight in front, and there has been nobody for the next two holes. So marshal should definitely have told them to go faster and stop drinking alcohol! (as this is forbidden originally on this course)

The Morning Star Golf Club is highly recommended:
1. The staff is very friendly, accommodating and helpful.
2. The golf course is very varied, challenging, beautifully embedded in nature (especially the first 9 holes) and well maintained.
3. John Randle with his staff and the Golf Academy gave very valuable and profitable impulses to our game in a 2-day golf school, in a very pleasant and result-oriented way.

Two points to be able to deal with:
- There is a lot of wildlife, especially geese - which has the disadvantage that they pollute individual holes (especially 16 and 17) heavily with their droppings.
- We did the course 2x on foot (on different dates) and were exhausted afterwards, partly also because of longer distances between the holes (we are both 59 years old) ; in the future we would choose an eCart.

Yours sincerely, Michael S.

Lovely course well laid out and taken care of, my wife is a beginner and didn't feel under any pressure, and great staff. Food was the only thing that was not great, We will be back to visit.

Enjoyed playing Ladies' Interclub on Thursday and Solheim on Friday. The course was in great shape, and the staff - Reagan, Braydon, Don the starter, Thomas in the resto - were all very professional and friendly.

This course is well maintained and super fun to play! I played 9 holes started with the 10th tee. We werer bit confused at first as from the tee box I couldn't see the flag, just wondering which direct to go. There were a couple of tee boxes we had to go across the streets then back and forth. Just needed to follow the signs and instinction. I liked the on grass driving range.only complain is the pull cart is $6.5 per use, seems a bit high when some courses don't even charge a fee for it.

Beautiful day, course in great shape, good friendly staff in pro shop and concession. Another worthy trip up from Victoria. Can't blame the course for my score.

It was great to play Morningstar again, the greens were in their usual perfect condition.

The staff in the pro shop were excellent and very welcoming. The service in the restaurant was also excellent.

Thank you John and his team for their hospitality today. The greens are fantastic. If you are on the island, go and play Morningstar GC!

Played twice in the last two weeks. During this period of time with water rationing on the Island the Morningstar team absolutely knows where to spend their money.on the greens! The greens are in fantastic shape and challenging. I played another well-known course nearby and their greens are terrible. Yes, the fairways are currently hard and brown with the drought conditions but get over it people. If you play many well-known desert courses in Arizona there are NO fairways for the first 100 yards! As another writer stated, be happy that you get to hit longer drives with the extra roll!

My son, Noah, and I had a wonderful round of golf at Morningstar yesterday. Every member of the staff was friendly and welcoming. We really appreciated Terry seeing us off on the first tee, a bit of light banter eased us into the game. The course is well laid out; enough water to challenge me, and greens well protected by bunkers. Those greens were awesome; well contoured and in perfect condition. The dry weather has left the fairways a bit hard, increasing the distance of my drives. We will be back!
