I love every moment spent in that chair. She is by far the kindest person. I'm always in awe of how exact she cuts my hair to what I asked for. She is such an amazing and talented person! I highly recommend Lauren. You won't be disappointed. Also, you'll never have a bad conversation. She will make you feel heard, and you'll walk out of there better than when you walked in.

I did a hair demo with Lauren for my wedding and she did a fabulous job. I’m not someone who often gets my hair styled and I had a lot of different ‘inspiration’ photos for what looks I liked, but didn’t really know what I wanted. Lauren managed to take all of that and put it together into a hair style I really liked. Beyond her abilities as a stylist, she was very easy to talk to and was willing to have myself and my bridesmaids all getting ready in the salon while she did our hair and makeup, starting early in the morning. While it is a smaller salon, it’s comfortable and welcoming. To top it off, Lauren’s pricing was very affordable compared to most salons in Victoria for weddings. I would definitely recommend Moth & Flame Beauty Co.for hair and makeup.

I had such a great experience with Lauren! I haven't had a haircut in years that I actually loved until I found Moth and Flame. Lauren helped me figure out what styles would work well with my hair type (wavy thick hair) and was so understanding of my doubts/concerns/prior negative experiences getting my hair cut. Lauren did an incredible job on my wedding hair and makeup! I went in with a vague idea (low updo) of what I wanted my hair to look like, and an even vaguer idea for makeup (natural), and she knew exactly what to do. She did a trial a few weeks before the wedding, and even lined it up with the day of my engagement shoot so that I would be able to see how the makeup tested on camera. On the day of the wedding, the gave me little pots of product to take with me for touch-ups throughout the day as well.

Not only is she super talented, but she’s also a really lovely person. When you’re spending hours in a chair, you want to be comfortable, and Lauren knows exactly how to set the right mood. Killer tunes, a gorgeous little space, tea + chocolates, and a fun conversationalist - what more could you want? ! She is a genuinely kind person, who has followed up post-wedding, and just a really beautiful spirit.

I had such a lovely experience with Lauren! The salon itself is beautifully decorated with pink flamingos, plants, and gold touches. It's inviting and clean. Lauren gave me a beautiful haircut and knew exactly how to work with my fine hair. The layers were perfectly done and she provided me with the best West Coast mermaid curls. I will be definitely coming back - I recommend Lauren to anyone looking for a kind, attentive, and talented hair stylist!

I quickly got into Lauren's chair when I had a bleached box-dye mistake. Lauren got me in the next day, which I really apprechiated. She transformed my hair and I love it! She coloured it enough for the bleach job to be unnoticable, and my hair still felt healthy and soft. Thanks so much Lauren!

Lauren is such a kind and friendly person, she pays attention to detail, and really listens to what you want done with your hair. She is easy to communicate with and we always have interesting conversations. Her new space is great, she has it all to herself so it feels safe going to get a haircut during COVID. It's also well-decorated and in a good location. Can't say enough good things about Lauren, highly recommend her!

Lauren is awesome! I've been going to her for three years, and recently followed her to Studio 557/Moth and Flame, her sweet new salon on Lower Johnson. She is everything you could ever want in a stylist: knowledgeable, intuitive, environmentally-conscious, and engaging. We have the best conversations, and I always leave my appointment feeling shiny and new. Some people spend a whole day at the spa to feel like I do after an hour with Lauren - highly recommended!

Lauren is professional and welcoming in her cozy studio. She takes time to listen to what you want and is very knowledgeable about how to work with your hair type. She brought my hair dreams to life! She was able to recommend great products that have worked really well for my hair. She’s my go to hair magician!

I’ve had the pleasure of having Lauren as a stylist for years now, and her holistic approach to beauty and every person as an individual with unique needs and preferences is one of the many attributes that set her apart. She is very knowledge and happy to answer any and every question. She is practiced in a variety of hair types. Personally I have very thick, wavy, untameable hair that I’ve gotten horrible haircuts on before Lauren since others did not know how to cut wavy, curly, or very thick hair.

Lauren also did my beautiful bridal up-do, and it was an amazing experience feeling calmer in the hands of such a professional yet personable stylist. Her zen energy really helped me and would make such a difference on any stressful day (like a wedding). She singlehandedly did my four bridesmaids hair and my bridal up-do without a hitch and helped me feel the most beautiful I ever have in my life.
