Really tasty dishes, well refined but not overly done. Very attentive and kind service. Abundance of vegetarian options!

All meals are delicious.
I have been in Vancouver for more than a week and this is the only delicious meal.

It was a beautiful experience. The restaurant decor is so interesting, I found my eyes wandering throughout our visit. The food was exquisite & beautifully presented. The service was 10/10. When i told them I have Celiac Disease, a gluten free soy sauce was placed in front of me. They brought a plate of iceberg lettuce for me for the duck wrap (instead of the pancake) …& the edges were trimmed with pinking shears! I told the server that it did not go unnoticed! I highly recommend it!

It was our last restaurant that we visited in Vancouver. You get Asian food on a high level. Fine dining in a nice atmosphere. The food is great and also the cocktails are great. The service was very friendly.

Ambiance for sure is nice, the chinese food is obviously better then your typical asian resto in terms of presentation etc.but the food itself wasn't spectacular and nothing you can't find in a chinese resto. Regardless, I'd come back again for a fancy night out.

Having never been here, our waiter was very knowledgeable and interested in making our experience the best. We didn't order the duck but the waiter curated an amazing line of multiple dishes to be able to share a wide range of dishes. He gave amazing recommendations for cocktails and wines. Would highly recommend Mott 32 to anyone interested in a fine dinning experience.

Very good food, excellent services, and nice ambiance. Took my parents there for a birthday celebration. Had Peking duck, clay pot king prawns, dim sum etc. We enjoyed all the dishes. They even gave us complementary lotus buns!

I have been to the one in HK couple of times. This is our first visit to the Vancouver branch. The signature cut of the Peking Duck can really keep the meat juicy. Not only the duck, the Alaskan King Crab Vermicelli and stir fried AAA beef tenderloin surprised us too. It really provided the same excellent dining experience to me and the family!

A Christmas treat. As an Asian who’s had consumed many “Peking Ducks” I couldn’t tell that it was roasted with apple wood. You have to order 48hrs in advance.

The Wok Fried Duck fried rice was a nice add on, the rice was partly crunchy.

I can def smell the truffle on the Siu Mai as they opened the steamer. The rest were all standard to me.

Abundant wines and Asian themed cocktails to choose from. Tried the Hanami cocktail, I did enjoy it.

The highlight- Hot & Sour soup thou I don’t see it in the menu anymore. Its like a fusion version with a supreme broth you find at Chinese weddings.

Overall, if $$$ isn’t an issue, give this elevated Chinese food place a try.

Lovely ambience and a good overall experience. The smoked black cod and the frog legs were the standout dishes overall and definitely would recommend ordering them if you go. The Peking duck was okay overall; I expected something a bit more special for the price point and experience, but it was still good. Would consider going back in the future to try a different variety of dishes as the standouts above were wonderful.

A great place for fine dining chinese food. I suggest preordering the peking duck. It was worth the experience. Everything is prepared with extra care and attention. Though our fish course took the longest to arrive we were happy with the service

ThuLobster cooked to tender perfection. Best dim sum texture & spices. Best lettuce wrap flavor with black truffle. Surprising wine pairings. #wineadventure with wine director Robert, enjoyable host for the evening. Chilled red wine was a delight. All around top choice for hospitality, ambiance, lighting & cuisine quality in Vancouver!

We absolutely loved Mott 32. The food was delicious! We tried a little of everything, including some dim sum, fried rice, sweet sour pork, duck salad, and dessert. All of it was tasty. The cocktails were just as good. I recommend the Old Fashion. Plus, the ambiance was great. Best of all was the service, Leann provided great service and recommendations when choosing our dishes. When I return to Vancouver I will definitely be dining here again.

Peking duck with crispy fried rice for the win! We placed the order 2 days in advance, and it is one of the best meal I've had in awhile

Best Beef rib ever, lemon chicken and fried rice se of the best! No winder this restaurant has won some many awards. The restaurant it's self is amazing to look at

We had another delicious Peking duck meal at Mott 32. If you order this dish, you absolutely must get the Fried Rice addon where they take the left over duck meat and create the best fried rice I've ever had. Also, the Soup Dumplings are to die for. Next time we go, we'll be ordering twice the amount so we don't have to share!

Impressive food and decor, however, service was not up to par. 30 min early for our anniversary dinner and ordered two drinks while waiting. The drinks never arrived in that 30 min, we had to reorder. We had the Applewood duck and some dumplings, hats off to the cooks. However, we also ordered seafood rice and it never arrived. Being that we were so full, it didn't really matter, until we see its still on the bill. Sorry Mott 32, you cannot be 5 star without 5 star service.

Fantastic dim sum, some of the best I've had! Lived the poached pork and chili and wild mushroom/water chestnut dumplings.

Good service and nice foods, but Barbecue Pluma Iberico Pork not available due to supply chain issues.

First off I don't normally write reviews unless the restaurant is not good.

Visual the restaurant looks amazing, customer service is great but the kitchen was not so great & front staff.

We pre ordered 3 ducks (minium) but the restaurant forgot about us and gave us one duck that took 40+ mins long to get to us.

When we ordered a bunch of appetizers & entrees
It came in 20mins but the portions were tiny everything looked like appetizers.

In the end our resos were at 730pm and ended at 11pm feeling hungry and now I'm going to get a burger to enjoy.

Would I come back probably not because I felt like I paid $100+ for nothing.

The food is ridiculously good! There's isn't one thing that we've eaten here that I wouldn't rave about. The presentation of the food/drinks, ambience/decor, and the service are totally on point!

As many other reviewers have noted, the amount of time that you will wait for food and drinks will be very long. However, we knew that ahead of going there, and therefore expected it (hence still giving a 5 star rating).

The menu is designed in a way that you will order multiple dishes, and based on that, they need to find a way to space out/time the dishes that take less time to prepare and get those out to tables first.just so that guests don't sit there for an hour with no food, and then get hit with back to back dishes before finishing the one prior.
Timing is everything and definitely contributes to the overall dining experience - so that would be my only critique. But then again, the food is just SO good that it's still worth the wait.

I've never seen a better wine list in a Chinese restaurant, I will say that. And the service is phenomenal. The decor is amazing, as one would expect. The menu is extensive, and interesting. We've eaten at many Asian restaurants in Vancouver, and this menu had a wide range of prices and options. Not any that I can recall below the $20 mark, except in the appetizer section, but the portions were not what I would call skimpy. The food itself was not the best Chinese food we've had in Vancouver, by any means. It was well prepared, the portions were generous, it was properly seasoned, but we've had better meals for the money. That being said, if you're looking for a memorable night out where you feel taken care of and you want the evening to be special, this is the place. The entire staff was charming, helpful, incredibly kind and warm.

One of my favorite restaurant in Vancouver, BC. I love the food, the ambience and the warm service. Must try: Stir Fried AAA Canadian Tenderloin, Bell Peppers,

Fancy Chinese restaurant, BBQ duck is one of their typical special dish, service is great, although price is quite deep, it worth to have a try once a while

One of the most elegant Chinese restaurants bridging tradition and modernism, weaved in with quality everywhere.

Can't recall the last time dining at the same restaurant in less than 24 hours, luck pushed me to visit this place for dinner and than lunch, two different but equally great experiences.

The food is outstanding, the dim sum: spicy soup dumpling and the shrimp crispy 腸粉 (rice noodle roll) competes for top places;while the flaky Wagyu puff pastry and "scotch egg" siu mai demonstrates incredible precision. Regrettably we did not have enough people to split the Peking duck carved table side. The egg tart was not the absolute best but a great ending to the meal.

The beverage elevated the experience with great selection from around the world: Canada, US, France, Italy, Southern Hemisphere including Penfolds, etc. Great tea selection on top of creative cocktails.

All these boxed in beautifully decorated dining environment, high touch without an air of arrogance. Great sound proofing even amidst of a somewhat busy service, which is attentive but never rushing. I have high praises for this place because the restaurant has mastered the art of listening. While the GM secretly thinks the incredibly diverse wait staff is not as well versed on the wine, the somm on the floor is there to ensure your beverage of choice will match well with the experience!

We came here for the roasted Peking duck. The duck turned out to be very far from what a authentic Peking duck tastes. The dim sum is creative and tastes good.

Went there with former colleagues for lunch dim sum. Simply the best modern style dim sum in town. Black truffle quail egg siu mai is my favourite. Sour and spicy xiao long bao is so good but you have to eat it without the vinegar. Service is much better than many other Chinese restaurants.

My parents were visiting from out of province last week, and as a special treat we decided to have dinner at Mott32.

From the minute we walked through the door, the staff were exceptional. Shane, our server, and sommelier Robert were incredible hosts. They really went above and beyond to ensure that our evening was an unforgettable experience.

I highly recommend pre-ordering the Peking duck - it is carved table-side and was beautifully prepared. My favorite part was the crispy skin, but the tender meat was also perfection.

My all time favorite dish was the smoked cod. Don't be alarmed by the strong smokey cloud that escapes when you lift the glass cloche - this cod is crisp, sweet and delicately smokey.

If you're looking for a satisfying side dish, the braised eggplant was savory and satisfying - the perfect addition.to our meal. The sui mai contained a perfectly cooked quail egg, and the hot & sour dumpling was vibrant and tangy.

All in all, this was a dining experience my family and I will never forget. I highly recommend it!

The atmospheres is great and gives the feel of very high class seating area. The drinks bring served show attention to detail and flavor. The service staff were really great and attentive, and very versed in the menu and drinks. The food itself is where it kinda falls apart. The food is greatly overpriced for what it is, i get it the menu reflects the nature of the environment, but its really just chinese/thai style food in much smaller proportions. I will say the squid did stand out. You will get better portions and flavor at places like Green Lettuce. Mott32 is built more on atmosphere than the core food.

Came for the breakfast Buffet as was staying in the hotel. Was disappointed to find out that the crepes station was no longer there as advertised. Small but adequate selection. Espresso was an additional $5 charge. Service was really good. Not really worth it for what you pay.

Dine here only if you are looking for great service, amazing food and other world restaurant design - so classy, elegant, yet trendy - like no other dining experience in the city.you must try the sugar coated iberico bbq pork bun (next level) and the peking duck - but you really can't go wrong.highly recommend!

Did not think Chinese food could be elevated to this level. All the dishes we ordered were presented beautifully. Food was tasty but the wow factor and experience was more on their presentation and the visuals. Staff were friendly and atmosphere was great. Food was on the pricey side but definitely worth going for the experience.

Peking duck was simply amazing. So delicious when the crispy and syrup glazed duck skin literally melts in your mouth. Every dish was crafted based on the season and you can tell by the amazing selection on the menu. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. I would say it's the best Chinese fine dining restaurant I have in Van city so far. The presentation was thoughtful and beautiful. It’s the right place to impress your guests or any important ones.

Probably the Best Fine Dining in Vancouver. This restaurant has awesome atmosphere and amazing dishes. The food is very good, a bit pricey but definitely worth it. For the lunch, they have a only $29 prix fixe lunch set or you may also order from the regular menu. The staff are professional and friendly, they know how to have customers leave very well satisfied. Highly recommend the Peking duck, the Crispy triple cooked US black angus short rib and Japanese wagyu A5 for meat lovers. When I tasted at the first time, it's like "wow"!

I'm so glad that Vancouver finally has a Chinese restaurant that pays attention to details like interior design and service as well as the quality of food. We were looking for a restaurant that is authentic and offers the best Chinese food and a fine dining experience at the same time. I think Mott 32 is the only Chinese restaurant in Vancouver that is up to the international standard.

Mott 32 really surprises me in so many different ways. The food is amazing. Love the Peking duck, the lobster tofu and the AAA beef dish they have. Also the interiors are simply fabulous It is a place full of stories and fun. This kind of scale of sophistication is very hard to find in Vancouver. Definitely recommend for everyone, especially those who has a curious mind for refined cuisine.

I tried their lunch special today! Really like their pumpkin soup and the dessert- Mango Sweet Soup, Sago! Also, the service is great! I picked the halibut as my main dish but a little bit too spicy for me. My friend and I will definately come back!

Mott32 is hands down the best Chinese fine dining restaurant in Vancouver. The entire experience of dining here is like none other. The interior design is breathtaking and each area is different, so be sure to ask to be seated in different spots each time you come back! A must try dish for spicy lovers is the Poached Szechuan Fish, but literally everything on the menu is delicious and a must try.

The decor of this restaurant is amazing. We ordered several dishes for the table and shared family style. The service could not have been better and our server made excellent suggestions for us. Everything was amazing. Looking forward to going back.

Great spot for dim sum and brunch located in Trump tower. Food was great and service was awesome. Very detailed oriented in their service. A small detail which was great was the complimentary coat check.

- Dragon Jasmine tea

There's no other high-end Chinese restaurant that can even come close to Mott 32. The food quality, service and ambiance are absolutely amazing.

If you're having a big party or gathering, I highly recommend you go else where. I had Melanie (their guest services lady for large groups) harassing me via email and telephone leading up to my birthday party. They have a one bill policy for groups over 8 people, charge a cake cutting fee, and here's the most annoying part, they require a quote authorization that makes you agree to paying a fine per person that doesn't show up ($60 for 1 week cancellation! And $120 per person for no show).

Given all of the above, I agreed as my birthday falls on the peak of dine out season and therefore had no choice but to go with this restaurant as they were basically the only resto not participating in dine out.i called the restaurant a few days prior to make a change in number of guests and the one bill policy came up. The girl I spoke to asked permission from her manager and said they are waiving the one bill policy for us. 2 days later, I received a call from Melanie who then said this is not possible "because it would make things very difficult for them". So, they didn't honour the agreement. I then simply asked Melanie to keep track of who purchased what food so that we could at least deal with the bill on our afterwards - she struggled with this idea but after tons of back and forth she agreed. But guess what, at the end, she didn't even communicate this to the manager or our server and i had to deal with this all over again.

Our server (Bobby?) was great.he did his best to accommodate given the lack of communication. However one server for 20+ people was challenging to deal with. It was basically dead that night so i dont know why the manager didnt have someone else help him. The manager kept trying to sell us wine but that a different story and also wanted to charge us double the cake cutting fee because i had 2 cakes.overall, terrible service prior to the event. Food was good but didnt make up for this horrible experience.would i go again? Probably not.

Mott 32 offers the most creative Chinese food in Vancouver. The way how they cook the dishes is super unique and you can never find the same thing in any other restaurant. The most impressive dim sum I had in Mott 32 is the hot and sour soup dumplings and the soft quail egg siu mai. They are so delicious and I don’t even wanna go to any other Chinese restaurant for dim sum anymore. Highly recommend!

Went to Mott 32 with friend for the Peking duck in Mott 32. The duck is great and I would say it is the best Peking duck in Vancouver. The crispy skin and the meat is so good and all my friends like it too. They will bring the duck and show you first, and then carving in the front of you. You could see how they work on it. The way to make the sauce in swirl shape is interesting and looks very good. The duck fried rice is another big plus. There is something so crunchy inside and it makes the fried rice so unique. The service is simply the best. The decor in the restaurant is the best in town since it is in a five star hotel. I would definitely come back again with friend and family.

Boy, where do I begin. I was already skeptical about this place when I heard many horror stories about how this place is overpriced and many low ratings. My suspicion is further increased when this is the only restaurant that is still available for reservations literally four hours before dinner time on Valentine's Day. To put that in perspective, every other restaurant i checked are fully booked.

I never shy away from trying a new restaurant and to be fair, this is the only one that is available for reservation tonight. When we arrived, they have a pre-set menu which is standard. There was 5 "dishes" and it was suppose to be a "2 hour" meal. It turns out to be more like 2 and a half dish with the portion they serve.

The first dish was a dumpling with geoduck. The dumpling tasted very mediocre but the geoduck was great. The second dish bird nest soup was kind of the saving grace of the night cause it tasted delicious. The third and fourth fish (aka the main course) is the abalone rice with chicken and beef. That was absolutely a disappointment of a main course. The beef was lukewarm at best and it tasted like a $10 set from your average Taiwanese restaurant. When the waiter asked me how was the food and I told him about the situation, he said oh I will check with the chef and never bother to come back. It is weird enough that we also have to share the dish considering the portion can maybe feed a single person at best. Then came the dessert. I was slightly dumbfounded when it came in one tiny cup and we were expected to share that.

Well, what is the damage? Including a drink (they asked us about five times if we wanted a drink) the damage is $350+. Now, you might say that this is not overpriced for fine dining. I call BS. I've been to 1,2, and 3 star Michelin restaurants with average cost of $300-$600 CDN. They serve twice as much food and taste significantly better. In Vancouver, Blue Water/Crocodile is a better choice as well. Stay far away.

The special xao long bao were made from hot n sour soup, so non-traditional yet very tasty. The pork dumplings in spicy vinegar sauce are some of the best things I've put in my mouth. Service was great, as one would expect in a joint this spendy. Worth it.

All around great experience, food, drinks and service were exceptional. Shout out to the Sommelier for his drink recommendations and food pairings.

Will definitely return to this restaurant when in the area.

Best Peking duck I've had since I worked in China. The service was excellent. Certainly on the expensive side but in my opinion well worth it.

Love my experiences eating here. Bobby was our server and he made us feel so special. Can’t wait to try his dessert platter next time we are there. Bobby keep up the good work and we appreciated your amazing hospitality.

I came to Mott 32 for my 40th birthday with my girlfriends and we were blown away! The food was outstanding and the service even better. Robert S was taking care of us and did a spectacular job. I can't thank the entire team enough, from the kitchen to the front of house team. Excellent cocktails and well thought out wine list. We'll be back for sure.

Out of all the highly ranked restaurants in Vancouver, Mott 32 definitely stands out with the great food and exceptional service.

We gave it a shot due to the convenience, i.e. It's right under the Trump Tower hotel we stayed in, which turns out to exceed our expectation. Highly recommend the PEKING DUCK (note that it requires preorder a day in advance), the Wok Fried Duck with fried rice, and the Black Sesame Sphere on the dessert menu. Each dish has the right amount so do try more varieties.

The dinner ambience is upscale. The waiter that served us was extremely polite and knowledgable. We were impressed by the professional and prompt services the entire night.

It could a bit pricy. But it is totally worthy given the food and service it provides. I wish there could be similar restaurant in the place we live.

Hands down the BEST Chinese restaurant in Vancouver. I have dined at Mott 32 at least 5 times and I love the texture and consistency with each dish. You can tell the chefs and servers are very committed to their job, the decor is a bonus as it has a 1940s Shanghai feel with excellent architecture. I would highly recommend this place for Chinese fine dining.

A good mix between Cantonese and Shanghainese food. It also has a classic 1920s colonial - Shanghai noir feel. However, prices are a bit on the high end and some dishes probably don't live up to the hype. The service is impeccable and the staff are incredibly nice, though.

Checked this place out since I was staying in the hotel. The ambiance is outstanding and feels so luxurious. The food is like nothing I have ever tasted before (well in the Chinese food category anyways). I feel like the price was just a little bit over for the quality in the end (maybe better chefs work the weekends?). Would try it again next time I’m in town for sure

Seems like there are a number of bad reviews, but my mom and I both enjoyed out visit. After trying a number of Cantonese restaurants in Vancouver, I would say this is my favouritre, but the price is probably slightly higher.

We encounter an unpleasant experience tonight at Mott 32. I booked a table on Nov. 11 for eight people for tonight’s dinner at 6: 15 pm and we were all really excited. When we came in, the usher brought us to a long table (three people sitting face to face with other three people and two other on the ending side). We immediately felt that this table was not what we expected, because it was at the middle of the corridor, was not suitable for eating dinner, and is beside the bar table where waiter and waitress would often walk back and forth. Hence, we asked her for a round table and she said that it only fits six to seven people and someone else also reserved for it. Later, she called over her colleague. She came with a dirty look and spoke very loudly, ”What do you guys want? " My auntie spoke cantonese to her, and she said: “ I don’t know cantonese, only mandarin”. Her attitude was extremely disgusting and disrespectful which all shocked us.
Auntie angrily replied: “ you should not talk to us with such an attitude, as a waitress, you should speak with respect and in greater manner”. We all said to her that we really don’t want to bring difficulties for them because we know that they will have other guests who were coming in for dinner, but such an attitude is not acceptable. Unexpectedly, she added “ I can ask you all to leave now”. After a period of rigorous negotiation, we wanted her to apologize and she merely gave us a half-hearted ”sorry”. Therefore we left, and chose to go to another restaurant for our dinner.

I feel that if she can communicate with us in a better way, we would all feel please, understand her circumstance and appreciate her attitude. Therefore, I want to say that being under a position of waitress, saying something with different attitudes can make a huge impact.

Dining atmosphere and service really bad, the server was disrespectful and unwilling to apologize, food wasn't anything to gloat for and overall a unpleasant experience.

Terrible food. Overpriced. Very nice interior. But the clientle makes it seem like we are in any random Chinese restaurant with no dress code and people talking loudly. I was expecting a more high end atmosphere. But the interior design is very well done and service not bad. Attentive. We had the set menu. I dont recommend. Not sure about the other dishes. Two stars. One for interior. One for service. Will never go back. First time last time lol. If you want good food go to dinesty
