This was taken in 2015. I cycled from Vancouver BC to Edmonton Alberta. Took me 15 days.

Mount Robson Provincial Park is nestled in the Canadian Rocky Mountains & it one of British Columbia’s gems. Like other Mountain Parks, including Jasper, Banff & Radium Hot Springs, there are rivers, forests & canyons to explore. You can canoe, hike, kayak, & standup paddle board in the warmer months.

The Rocky Mountains boast mammoth lakes that resemble the inland seas that French novelist Jules Verne (1828-1905) wrote about in Journey to the Centre of the Earth. Please be careful when on the water, especially if you are a novice in watercraft travel. The weather can change quickly, & gentle waves could turn into white horses bouncing you.

You might find Yellowhead Lake safer than Moose. One resident who had not seen the ocean until adulthood said Moose Lake was a sea swept by the forces of nature. Consider bringing supplies such as bear spray, a bucket, extra dry clothing & a life jacket, a waterproof phone, a wet bag & a whistle etc. The bucket can help to bail out water.

Is your seating comfortable? Do you need to upgrade it with portable seating designed for watercraft. Time on a vessel can be tough when you sit for long periods so your seating is important.

Please stay close to the shore, especially if this type of travel is unfamiliar to you. Crossing from one side to the lake to the other can be a hazardous route, so it’s crucial to consistently check the weather conditions. Additionally, informing others of your anticipated arrival and return times is highly recommended.

The pictures say everything! Equally Stunning in all seasons. Fuel up and enjoy the mountain views for a day trip or camp in the back country.

Beautiful Jaw dropping mountains and breathtaking views.
It's one of the most beautiful part of the yellow head highway drive towards BC. There are a few shops for travellers and tourist to patronize. Also several areas for photo lovers.
Ensure your vehicle is in good shape as help may not come as quickly as you desire if needed.
Cellular network signals are very poor around these area due to the mountains.
Ensure your vehicle has enough gas to avoid disappointment. Not many gas stations are available around the mountain.

One of my favorite provincial parks in all of Canada. Sadly the best trail in the park, the Berg Lake Trail, is closed until probably 2025 due to significant damage from flooding and landslides. There are 7 campgrounds along this trail for backcountry camping in many different environments. Reservations are required for all of them. Hopefully some improvements will be made as they make the needed repairs although compare to back country sites in the US, these are already far superior. Many have cooking shelters established and pit toilets.
