Nice place to enjoy an afternoon tea. Nice decoration and photo worthy atmosphere. Staff is also attentive.

The food is great too a good combination of sweet and savoury.

The gelato was amazingly smooth and flavourful the magi was my favourite the pistachio was very smooth.

Got combo for 4. Food was not fresh. Wilted salad with a rotten taste. Cold lobster that was grey colored and overly salty. Dried pieces of orange that indicates pre-cut and sitting out too long. Turkey slices were processed meat.
The ambiance needs lots of improvements too. Broken decors, odd combo beach, ornate, disco themes Feel dizzy with all the messiness. Was not pleasant. Won’t return.

My first time here was enjoyable, but I’d probably not choose to go for high tea again. I’d like to return for gelato and perhaps other menu items. The decor is a kind of a Bridgerton theme and a bit tacky. The privacy (for awhile) in the back room was nice as was the server. We ordered 3 Elegant Tea sets and one Gold (this is an Elegant plus the extra lobster with salad, shrimp and tuna plates). Our teas weren’t flavourful enough; the savouries and seafood were good; and the sweets and scones were fair. Btw, there’s free parking on the street and Steveston is quaint.

We purchased the elegant tea set for 4 (40 dollars a person) on Groupon. Because we ordered the elegant tea set, we were able to modify one of the sets to be fit for a Vegetarian which was good.

We were lucky and got the backroom to ourselves. Decor was very nice and fit the atmosphere.

The savory portion was definitely better than the sweet. The bread for the cucumber sandwich did feel a bit dry and the "bruschetta" was on regular bread toasted until it was very hard.not great. The scone was also a bit dry. Flavour wise though it was quite tasty and light. As a vegetarian, I am often given a completely different menu from others and it tends to be less inferior. At Gold's they mimic the "regular" menu wonderfully. I consider this a bonus!
For example, instead of smoked salmon they gave me smoked carrot and they mimicked a tuna sandwich with a meat alternative. It still tasted very good. Visually it also looked similar.

As for the dessert portion I personally didn't feel it was anything amazing. It was very sweet and some of the desserts felt old. They do offer a cup of gelato at the end and it was very tasty. My personal favourite of the sweets.

Overall the food was acceptable.

My biggest complaint and reason for a deducted star is the tea. Selection was fine, they offered green, black, and floral/fruit options. But the quality and strength was severely lacking.
The black teas came in a teabag which wouldn't be strong enough for a full pot (nevermind refills) and we felt the tea to be very weak from the get go. As we got refills this only got worse and it tasted like water.
The fruit teas were loose leaf and were a bit stronger, just took longer steep time to get the full flavour. Either they need to use two tea bags/more tea leaves at the start, or offer a new teabag/change the leaves with refills.

Fake advertising on hiring positions with 100k-200k, I spend an afternoon talking to the “hiring manager Jeffery” but founded out it was only a bait. Then he doesn’t response-don’t waste your time and money here. 0 stars

This place was so cute! Delicious gelatos and very unique flavors! There was even a durian flavor (which was sold out). Overall, cute atmosphere, and great food options.

Note, something interesting about this place that I found out from the attendant! - we came to this town because Once Upon a Time was filmed here, and we came to this specific spot because this was the location of a pawn shop in the TV show that was filmed. I asked the attendant, and she said that this place used to be a pawn shop/gift shop, but recently changed to an ice cream shop, and kept a similar name.

We were strolling in the area. My child wanted chocolate ice cream and we happened to walk past this gelato place. Service was great. We were able to sample a few flavours. Gelato was creamy and tasted as described.

The person working was able to kindly split a double scoop into two separate cups as my child was not going to share the same cup with me. My only feedback is that I wish there were more flavours to choose from. There was plenty of seating available. They also serve afternoon tea and carry good quality tea options.

Mr Gold’s is a must when visiting the quaint Steveston area. The gelato selection is extensive, and was a very yummy treat. The outdoor patio was a perfect place to sit and enjoy the gelato on a gorgeous afternoon.

Friendly staff and yummy ice cream. Really liked their blueberry cheesecake flavour. Will be back again!

I live around the area. Though, I suppose I don't explore enough, as I was completely unaware of living so close to such a great gelato place! I taste-tested and immediately ordered 2 scoops of black sesame 'cos it was THAT good. It's been so long since I've had such good black sesame gelato (or ice cream of any kind), so, quite obviously I was over the moon. There were some bits of ice in the mixture, which might bother some people so I had to mention that.

Would love to come back another time and try their other flavors, of course! I should try out their high tea, as well.

I find that the gelatos are too sweet for me but definitely better than the nearby Timothy icecream

Overpriced. They use seafood to push the price of their tea sets up. The pastries and other snacks in the afternoon tea sets are poor. If I wanted lobster or tuna I would of rather gone to a proper restaurant.

Went there for their Mother's Day event, it was nice, but I had better High Tea, the only good things about them are if you want to see the princesses, but they take pictures of your kids with the princesses without permission, and the owner is rude when you msg him, I don't recommend this place to anyone.

Decent little high tea / ice cream place in Steveston. Lots of choices for the ice cream. The high tea set tasted decent, the one downside is that the service was pretty slow and it took forever for them to make the plating. Overall the vibe was nice, the chairs and utensils were cute.

High tea and tea selection is actually pretty good but the costumer service SUCKS. Never handed the menu within 15 minutes of being seated, and missing items with the set multiple times.

My husband found this and took me here today. Great little place. Busy, which is good, and such an attentive staff. The sandwichs are really good if you dont choose the high tea or mouthwatering gelatos. We will be back. THANK YOU!

Everything was fantastic. The service was super friendly and the food was delicious as well. I loved how they added lobsters onto the tea sets.

We had a very disappointing experience in Me Gold: (When we got into the cafe, we have double checked with the server about the minimum charge and we were being informed that there were no any minimum charge per person. However, after placing the order, the manager told us that we were not allowed to share the family tower set and insisted us to order more. We tried to cancel the family tower set but we were being rejected. The attitude of the manager wasn't nice, he even judged us about never having "high tea" experiences so that we were not familiar to the regular price of tea set. After the clarification, the manager claimed that their staff had mixed up the policy. We were very disappointed as they didn't try to help us to tackle the issue but forced us to order more. My valuable weekend mood was ruined by this cafe: (The manager end up offered each of us a small scope of ice cream to compensate our disappointment. We were actually quite full at that moment but the staff claimed that having the "free offered ice cream " from them were very rare. We should treasure this chance. Despite of the poor services, the food of the family set was not as good as expected. The taste was normal and the food was not fresh at all. Not really recommending this cafe to people who are hoping for a great "high standard afternoon tea"experience with nice service.

A beautifully transformed tea parlour serving a savoury selection of seasonal bites and seafood. Their organic gelato is a MUST and the best way to finish off this indulgent feast. The Golden Afternoon Tea is $78 per person and worth it for the service and ambiance.

I went to Mr. Gold Gelato for the Golden Afternoon Tea which I purchased on Groupon.

This little shop is located in Steveston Village. It is nicely decorated with comfy chairs and beautiful tea sets/plates.

The food was surprisingly good. The lobster tail was cooked perfectly and the lemon, rosemary marinade tasted great. There was a generous portion of ahi tuna which was very fresh. The gelato was delicious, I had the mango flavour which is made in house and they use Avalon milk.

I brought my daughter with me and ordered her the kids tea for $26. It had kid appropriate foods such as ham and cheese sandwich, smoked salmon pizza, macaroon, a mini croissant, a jumbo prawn, and a scoop of gelato. For the kids drink they had orange juice, apple juice or milk. I wish they had hot chocolate or apple cider or some hot option for the kids.

Overall we had a very good experience.

Decent food, comfortable seating, friendly service, not bad price. Actually better than a lot of afternoon tea places in Greater Vancouver Area. Not amazing, but good enough.

On a side note, Vancouver doesn’t really have any ‘wow’ afternoon tea place anymore. Tried so many places, either overhyped or overpriced.

It's the best high tea for savory food, they have lobster and other seafood which is better than too much sweet. Golden afternoon tea is best but they have several options, also for kids. Great service too. Really good deal! Must call in to book in advance

Amazing flavors and approved by an Italian (my husband) he said it’s very authentic. The lady who served us is the sweetest most kind person! It’s hard to find a place with good food quality and good service now days. Definitely recommend!

One of the best gelato I've ever had. Gelatos are handmade & you can taste that quality ingredients were used and so rich in flavour. Love the matcha cone and generous portions.

I have tried all the ice cream shops in the area and I can say with confidence that this place is the best. Its just bursting with flavour, and it has a much smoother texture than all the others which makes it even better. You have to try the mama's lemon pie, it is absolutely to die for. I will definitely be going back for more. I have nothing but good things to say about this place

They're renovating right now so they've got a little set up hidden behind their shop (it's across the alley from the fish n chip place). Street parking only. Best customer service! She offered multiple samples for us to try. Very generous portions, freshest ingredients and low fat/low sugar- though you'd never know it by the flavour! The Gelato is sooo creamy, sooo smooth & the flavours are Perfection

Great place for Gelato. Price, quality, and quantity. Flavours are intense. Even the "boring" strawberry is fantastic with great real strawberry flavour and nice texture.
