Mr. Lube + Tires

How could I not 5 star a place that fixed my flat pro Bono. Keep it up. Fast and friendly.

Went there to change my tyres last week. One of the staff said they were in staff shortage so he told me come later and he gave me a specific date. Well today was my third time visiting Mr Lube and they said the same thing. “Short staff”.

Two stars because they got the job done. However when i pulled up employees just standing around, took several minutes just to greet me. Then they had to pull their own vehicle out of the bay just to get mine in. Got my oil changed while fella was working on his own vehicle in the middle bay banging on it like crazy. None of them were wearing mr lube required clothing, no coffee offered no water. Guenter would not be happy how the shop is being run. I would really like him (the owner) to get a hold of me.

Needed an oil change, When I arrived, I was waiting for 15 minutes for a door or bay to open, no one came out, on a previous visit three days earlier, I was told it would be a wait of over an hour. I understand things can evolve when working on someone's car, and a couple days and 76 kms later isn't going to change much on condition of oil. I have done this work in the past, and understand fully time can change, however to not even open up, on time or have the time to inform your customers of staffing problems, costs you clients. Sadly this location is no longer a viable choice for me. Do not respond, I know this is not the owner responding, but Mr. Lube's service department on the mainland, trying to resolve a dissatisfied customer. I will be choosing Midas on Hammond Bay Road for my services from here on out. If I was allowed to rate a 0 stars, it would be the case.

DO NOT GET YOUR OIL CHANGED HERE! Super unprofessional, the guy was complaining the whole time, and he had to ask multiple times what I wanted done. After they change my oil and I started up my car, it made this horrible grinding sound and completely shut off. My car had never done this before but now does this quite often. Was given no receipt or sticker of when you get my oil changed next (in hindsight I shoulda asked but it's usually just given to you). I also asked them to check if anything else was low and they said everything was fine. Took it to Great Canadian the next day and they said they overfilled my oil, didn't clean up whatsoever and that I had a cracked water pump and had no coolant left. For the love of your car do not go here.

Terrible experience here. Came for checking the brake. The guys told me I can come back another day because they need to order stuff to fix my car. Come in another day very early, they said they haven't ordered yet. Double check, then they found it. However, they let another vehicle go fix first even I was there first. Ridiculous!

It was about 2 weeks ago this wonderful team had topped up my oil free of charge! They were very sincere and truthfully honest about how long my oil would last. I promised them I would come back to see them at the appropriate time limit that they gave me and I made a phone call to Jon and I was welcomed by high quality professionals! Jon and Lucas and to also mention the rest of the team all focused on my vehicle making sure everything was in order. PRICES they have are unbeatable! This is a beautiful location that maximizes their team for high performance! Thank you Mr. Lube and thank you Jon and Lucas and all the boys! My car loves you ️!

I had my wife's vehicle in for an oil change at this Mr Lube last week. I have been taking our vehicles there for a few years now. It's convenient. Service was always good. However this time the service was less than stellar and if I hadn't been driving the vehicle, may have caused a lot of damage to the vehicle because the day after the oil change I could smell burnt oil. When I checked under the hood I realized they did not put on my oil filler cap. There was oil sprayed all over the hood liner. When I called the manager his answer was "I apologize". He didn't give me his name, he didn't ask for an invoice number so he could address the tech that did the work.nothing. He didn't seem to care at all. The techs was named Nathan. So I would stay clear of this Mr. Lube and if you have to use them make sure Nathan isn't working on your vehicle up top. There was a bunch of little things such as saying I declined to have the tires checked, not having me rev the engine up then check the oil level. Simple things. Would not recommend and wont be going back because I don't trust them anymore. Maybe check out Great Canadian oil change instead.

Recently went for a summer-winter tire swap. Had a minor part fitment issue with the new summer rims. The crew at the shop went above and beyond to make sure the job got done right. Staff was very professional, helpful, and friendly.

I have been to many mr lube places throughout Canada and they've all be great. The one in nanaimo was absolutely exceptional to the already high standards these people have. From the care and expertise for your vehicle to there overall attitude. I had the pleasure of being helped by Gord. He's the man with the plan! Highly recommended if you have any car issues.

I was not told the price prior to starting. Which is the least of my issues. My coupon was not honored then when I was asked to find a different one online I had difficulty with that and again, no discount or free wipers. Even thought there was a highly publicized wiper campaign starting in two days. Then, when asked about cabin air filter change, I was told that they don't do it for my vehicle. Lastly I asked about putting on a filter I already had, and was told that they would only use their own parts when previously I had been told it could be done for a service fee. Very friendly and polite though! Canadian, eh!

Hello, I visited Mr. Lube because my Oil Change specialist was closed. It was my first time. I was heading out on a 5000KM road trip in the Canadian Rockies 1 day after the oil change. But eventually decided to take my second car because I was not sure after the oil change if I could trust that the vehicle was re-assembled properly. The Mr. Lube I visited had employees who had never worked on my car model, so they where using the internet fo figure out how to access the oil, filter, etc.they where tacking things apart on my car I had never seen my other mechanic do. That scarred the hell out of me, these young kids just taking part of my car, hoping they would find what they where looking for? So I asked them if they ever did this before, and confirmed my fears. Right after the Oil Change, I took my car home and left it there, cause now I want to take back to my mechanic to make sure everything was properly reassembled, I deemed the car unsafe for my road trip. That's why the 3 star. I ended up having to take my 2 wheel drive car across the rockies instead, during winter conditions, because I would not trust the work that was executed on my 4X4 truck and was more afraid of being stranded after the oil change. I just returned from my road trip, and have an appointment with my mechanic to now have a review of what was done, to instill confidence back in me that I can drive the car without the filter falling out, or some loose screw or bolt scrapping my engine. I would have preferred if the employee would have told me they cant do the oil change because they don't know this trucks mechanics. It's not a cheap truck, let's just put it that way.

Pulled up with a medium sized cargo trailer.without any questions or suggestions on where I could unhitch and come back I was aggressively told I couldn't be there with a trailer and told to leave. Mr. Lube will no longer have my service

They have worst staff even their manager is biased. They will first judge you by your appearance and then they will provide you services only if they will find you good according to their desired standards.

It's ok, oil is oil. Friendly enough staff, coffee newspapers. At least that's what I remember. Used to offer a military discount on remembrance day, not sure if they still do?

Came in on a Sunday for a tire repair. Even though they have reviews stating that the reviewer had their tire fixed on a Sunday, I was told that they never have and will not fix tires on a Sunday. I wasn't offered an appointment for the next day, or even air for my leaking tire.
Simply told that they don't have the staff, and good bye.
Wasn't greeted, had to go looking for help, only to be turned away with no recommendation for getting service. Won't be back.

Excellent customer service. My truck broke down here while getting an oil change and they were able to help diagnose the problem. They didn't charge me any extra and saved me a tow bill. They had the right oil for my diesel truck and they also carry the proper synthetic for my VW car. Overall I feel confident taking my vehicles here for service. Highly recommended.

Very nice and honest staff! My wife went there to get an oil change, but we actually went about 1000km early. The staff members who helped us were Hamish and Ken. They checked and our oil was still good. Instead of doing the oil change anyways for the sake of a quick sale, they were honest and said we could wait if we wanted. Very happy about their honesty! We will for sure be back.

Very pushy staff. Went in for an oil change. Tried to swindle a tire order out of me, a single tire, refused to order more, nearly convinced me. Got very upset when I cancelled it minutes later and told me they couldn't cancel it and would have to pay full. After some fight they conceded they could cancel it but still charged 10% and told me I would not be welcome to order through them again. I can assure you I will not be. Terrible service from a manager no less. Another auto shop that will try anything to take advantage of those who don't know any better

Alright let me just start off by saying these guys are freaking awesome not only were they able to immediately service my vehicle after I already tried at Midas (which fyi are booked out for a week) they are honest folks you can trust. When I asked if a technician could inspect my in-line fuel filter, they found that it looked like new and gave a! To me that is keeping @ Great job to the Mr. Lube employees on Terminal Ave downtown Nanaimo

Darren was super helpful, understanding, nice and gave me good info. We have been going to mr.lube for many years and always get great service and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend anyone to go there. Thank you so much again Darren!

Despite being severely short staffed, they got me in in a timely fashion and had my car out as fast as they could. Really pleased with the service I received.

Spent an hour and a half to be told my transmission fluid couldn't get changed. Then when I left realized my oil level was never shown.

Guys were great at getting me in; honest dudes, these guys are paid hourly and have nothing to gain from lying to you. Ken gave me a great rate and threw in a free diagnostic ($20-40) even though they were quite busy.

For the best service in Nanaimo come to me lube! Don’t trust the dealer always get a second opinion! Mr.lube will be your one stop car shop for anything maintenance or service related! Come see Shelby or Derek for the best service in town! Thanks again for saving me hundreds!

I went in for an oil change, ready to resist the pressure to change all kinds of other more expensive stuff if I was told I really should do so. The fellow there checked my oil, shook his head with a serious expression on his face, and brought it to show me. "Your oil's golden, " he said. "You don't need oil yet, come back in 2 or 3 months. "

A short story, because they deserve it. I was just parking on the lot of this mechanic shop, they saw my car was leaking and they came up to me and helped me out! They refilled my Oil and had a look on my car. Awesome poeple and thanks for helping me with my car. If you who are reading this right now needs help with your car, go there!
