After today's visit I changed my 5 star rating to a 1 star. I was treated by an older female employee extremely rude and full of attitude. My car was blocked along with the vehicle parked beside me in the back of the business by a truck delivering to Mr. PETS. She was hanging out back smoking chatting to another fella. I asked how long will the driver be. She said, " how should I know who are you! I said I was a customer. Ishe went silent as I think I may have caught her off guard that i knew she was an employee and walked away. Honestly, and its only my perception of her, but her wavering body motion and aggressiveness towards me. I think she was high on something. But rest assured, I will not be going back to this store.

Wide selection of pet supplies and well informed staff elsie was very helpful and knowledge when it came to helping me with my cockatiel Will come again

Lovely staff, a wide selection of all things necessary to house, feed, and play with your pet, no matter what type of let you have.

Dogs are welcome inside (which I love), there's free parking in the back, and they have a loyalty program such that if you buy 10 of the same item of food, you get the 11th one free. (i'm not sure if that applies to anything else, though)

The customer service here is really lacking and the manager has been rude and condescending to me multiple times. Go to Pet Pantry the down the street. The people are more helpful and they have a rewards program.

Helpful guy today who took the time to talk about cats and their tummy troubles and which food was best for their digestive problems. Ty ️

Really Friendly's and informative. A little pricey, but if your a pet owner who knows their pet is worth it, this is your place. They also have very liniant return policies.

Great pet store on Commercial Drive with a good variety of pet products in stock. My dogs love coming here. Came there for an RC pets harness, specifically, and they had a lot of options. They also have fish and a dog wash station.

Great staff, best selection of RC Pets products in the city and lower prices for raw food! I just wish I lived a bit closer to your Vancouver location.

Rude, rude staff.
A few months ago, I was a new customer, and I was new to the city. When I first visited, I quickly noticed that the older woman that works there was really bossy and intimidating. She was giving us rude looks because we were purchasing a flea substance. And oh, it gets worse. We didn’t use the flea substance, and we came by to return it a few days later. As I stand in the door entrance fumbling with my mask and trying to put it on, the older lady shouted at me to put it on before I entered, in which I obviously was going to. She could clearly see that I was stressed out since my dog was getting hyper and pulling me more outside the door, sniffing the people who were walking on the sidewalk. We look around to possibly buy some treats for our dog and the lady kept giving us a dirty look. Then we just go to the front desk to return the substance. Oh! This substance is half empty, we can’t refund you. She said it in the rudest way possible. Hmm, weird. We didn’t use it at all. I walk out with an overpriced bottle of flea spray in my hands unsatisfied. When I got home, I opened it to check, the bottle was full. I was concerned if they sold me a half empty bottle! But nope, it was full. This is the closest pet shop to me, unfortunately. Last time we went in I was contemplating walking in for about 10 minutes with my dog because I was nervous about the older woman. And of course, she was rude to me again. I will visit again soon, just to see if they hired new staff. If I see otherwise I will be very disappointed. Nobody should feel nervous or anxious to enter a store. I’ve never felt this way about a shop. It makes my blood boil.

Worker was helpful, I expressed that I come out from.birmqby to huhuntnfor worms as a bigger package deal as metrotown only offers 25 /50 worm packages so the larger 200 are appreciated so I have enough to.last a but opposed to not.thanks all!

The manager Rain is very knowledgeable about all animals and their needs. They have a good selection of food and accessories. All the staff is friendly and loves animals.

I saw their sign and decided to go inside since I needed some stuff for my kitten. I found everything I needed and the staff was very helpful and friendly.

Raya is an absolute gem. She is more knowledgable than any vet I have seen. I came from coquitlam just to see her and seek her advise. She used to be the manager at coquitlam store and her recommendation about the type of food helped my cat greatly. Thank you for your help. Mr. Pet is extremely lucky to have you on board.

New to area found store parked for about 15 min waiting for wife to arrive needed to pick up dog food / cat food and drop off to Neighbouring business was approached in parking lot and told I had 1 min to move or go in store. Well isn’t that a nice welcome to my store never go back there and advise no one to drive there bad experience

Great pet store with free parking behind building (with registration inside). The staff are helpful and I can always find what I need for my dog or gifts for others. Loyalty program on dog food is also a bonus!

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER service, I’m a regular here and the lady who works at the front is rude and got a attitude she was talking for at least 10-15 with a customer ahead of me and I said can I just pay for my stuff, I didn’t wanna wait any longer and she said can you hold on we are talking with an attitude! Like go on your break and talk not while your at work so annoying won’t be back here, I ended up leaving my stuff and just leave not gunna support some business that doesn’t treat all their customers with respect.

Probably no heat in winter times inside.

Great variety, loyalty program for bagged food, they are willing to do special orders and they didn't ask me to prepay for the order.

Andrew at this location was exceptional! He helped me with all my needs even with my constant questions. He was super informative and friendly. Not only did he do a great job helping me with my container pond but he even got a parking ticket voided that I recieved for accidentally not validating my parking with the store, oops. Thanx Andrew!

Wide selection of stock and merchandise that’s easy to browse on your own. Staff is helpful if you can’t find what you’re looking for or need recommendations. Plenty of dog toys and accessories, which is what I’m looking for. A walk through the aisles reveals all types of supplies and food for every kind of pet. It’s not my ‘go to’ pet store, but gets ‘5 stars’ because it’s a short stroll from home.

Appreciate the free parking at the back, makes it easy to do quick pick ups! Just make sure to register your license plate at the counter when you go in the store. Decent selection of dog food and other dog items. There's also a dog wash in the back.

I bought a defective light for my dog and the store refused to provide me with a refund or store credit. The light was not very expensive but I was disappointed that the store would not stand behind its products. In addition, the staff was rude and dismissive about my request. I will bring my business elsewhere. It is time to get rid of outdated return policies, specially for defective products.

This is about the last time I was there a couple weeks ago, the manager was amazing and helped me put with everything I needed for our rescue bunny and answered all my questions, and today when I went the person working was super friendly! Mr. Pet will be the place that I go for all the things I need for our bunny

Free parking helps those of us who need to drive. Mr Pets has a good selection, competitive pricing, and a friendly staff. Their selection of good quality pet foods is well above average.

This rating goes to Chantelle who assisted my fiance & I when we came in this past weekend - Chantelle was incredibly helpful from the start (came up to us to ask if we needed any help) and really knowledgeable. We asked many questions and some were probably so basic/silly, but she never once made us feel like any question was a silly question. She just genuinely made us feel like she was so happy to help and was so kind. Thank you Chantelle for being your awesome self - MrPets is very fortunate and lucky to have you as an employee!

I would say that the customer service here is a joke but unfortunately it is not a joke, it is just shockingly bad. The manager is super rude (just look at the responses to other reviews) and the products are pretty bad as well. Shame it is the closest pet store to me, but I will still go anywhere else.

Had a small issue with a purchase of mine and the return process was easy and pleasant.

Awkwardly, I had forgotten part of my purchase the day before, but I still had my receipt and it got sorted fast.

Really great to get this service from a small business, I'm happy to support them. They have a decent selection for reptiles, birds and fish, as well as a ton of stuff for dogs and cats. There's even a dog wash at the back! Cool place, nice, friendly staff. Feels like the employees like each other which is such a good vibe.

Extremely helpful and informative staff. The woman I spoke to over the phone went out of her way to get information and guide me to buy the proper medication for my beta fish with cloudy eyes.

My customer service pet representative was very helpful. We were looking at a bigger hamster cage for our hamster and had a few questions. She went above and beyond to answer our questions and she even looked up more information to inform us even more.

I don't think the store has a supervisor or management team when the manager off duty because one of of the employee was very rude and disrespectful . She’s very unfriendly and no knowledge how to communicate and dealing with the customer. This happened to me on April 12, 2021 around 4:59 pm The employees wearing a colourful leggings and she’s white (?) I don’t know ????‍ her name but I can point it out who is .
I’m not supposed to do this kind of email or bad comment because I know the manager and she’s very kind . And I live close by . I do really hurt my feeling so badly when she’s trying me to push to live me the store and she didn’t want to serve me but I’ve been patiently to go downs stairs and ask someone else to get my fish to buy . I’m thankful the cashier even she’s busy she help me and serve me . I haven’t been experience like this customer service and this is not acceptable how she treated me . I’m just asking only if the plant is for sale and she’s been rude asserting me not of the plant inside the aquarium is not for sale only the one separated from the tank . And I said ohh strange I don’t even know I went other store the plant is for sale what ever in the aquarium .. I said ., and she answer me back what ever is in the list that’s the only for sale.. and then ok I want to buy fish and she’s been rude to answer you know this is 28.00 dollar I know you told me what ever is in the list .. and then that started that she’s been disrespectful to me and saying you must to live the store . NOT acceptable.. I don’t do anything .. every time she come to me she just quick back and Fort doing something :( ..?? I need to address this one to the head Manager and please give me a call if you need more details and info .

Worst customer service ever, I live a couple blocks away and decided to give it a try but it was a Big mistake, will stick to aquariums west

One staff member was super helpful (the other wasn’t and just looked confused), but unfortunately my experience was soured due to the manager/ owner constantly berating the one helpful staff and belittling her. It was ridiculous.

I found something that I wanted to get, but didn’t want to support this poor behaviour.

I really hope that the helpful staff member reads this and understands that she is a good employee/ should find another job. (I was there today at around noon).

The convenience factor of this store being so close to my home means nothing. Id rather take an OverStuffed 99B-line during rush hour to any other over priced pet store Than to shop here at Mr. Pets.

The staff, management, and quality of product is all very poor.

Bought a robo hamster here at this location and it was such a wonderful family pet.

Great place. Wonderful selection of aquatic plants. Waited a while for some help but other than that they were lovely.

I'd give negative stars if I could. I've never experienced anything like this, in my life!

I was attempting to leave the store, their delivery truck pulled up as I was walking to my car and rather than give me a minute to exit customer parking, opted to block me in.
I asked the delivery driver how I was supposed to get out? And he told me that it was an ongoing issue with that store, so I waited to speak to the employee, as the driver had just rung the bell.
The employee who answered the door was Andrew, the same employee who had pushed past me while I was in line in the store, with a face mask around his elbow, ever so effective.
As soon as he came to the door, Andrew gave me a dirty look and when I told him that I couldn't get out, he responded with "that's your problem". I told him I was a customer and had just been in the store. To which he told me he didn't care. Of course, this upset me and since I had earlier heard him referring to his manager upstairs, I said that I wanted to speak to this person. To which Andrew told me to "f'off".
As I had commented that of course, he was the same person I saw inside without a mask, when the store has signage asking people to wear them, Andrew let me know that "masks don't work" because he "knows science".
Since I was clearly not getting anywhere with Andrew, I went back in my car and when I picked up my phone, he started walking around behind my car, taunting "oh, going to get on social media now, are you? "
Finally the delivery truck had moved and while I was reversing, a woman in the doorway caught my attention and when I got out to talk to her, she too was giving me a dirty look and when I asked if she was the manager, as I wanted to address her employee's behaviour, she refused to answer.
Fantastic customer service There are so many better places to spend your hard earned money in the city, especially since looking at other reviews, this is typical.

In response to the owner: the pallet was delivered into your store, which is why your store employee, Andrew answered the door. But I guess if it weren't your delivery truck it would have excused your staff member from cursing at paying customers. Attentive, helpful and knowledgeable staff and great selection of products makes this a stand-out pet store.

They're usually well stocked, have friendly knowledgeable staff, and offer convenient alley parking.

Nice place for pets. Enough products selection and not too many. Friendly staff. Best part is the car park behind it so very convenient. Do not forget to add your car/plate to the list when coming in. They can help you load in the car park, big bags of food or litter and it is much appreciated!

Finally! A store that sells calcium without D3! For my reptile. Staff knew exactly where it was right down to how many steps to take to get to it! They also have free parking out back. Will shop here again, thanks!

The guy that helped me fish out 5 kuhli loaches was nice and knowledgable. It took forever to catch the wigglers but that's understandable since their are so unpredictable and fast. I prefer this location over the coquitlam one. I just wish it wasn't so far away

There's a girl there that owns reptiles and is very helpful to a new bearded dragon owner like myself. The crickets are always in good condition and live for awhile so I can stock up. The animals they have are all treated well and seem to be very healthy and happy, unlike PetSmart Grandview. I've bought a tonne of items to decorate my enclosure and it's all great stuff.

I got my dogs nails and ears cleaned. The price he quoted he brought down by 10 bucks. Staff seem knowledgeable and kind.

Huge store tonnes of selection upstairs and down for almost every type of pets. The prices were a little high but the service was excellent

I’ve been coming here for the past two years and the customer service has always been bad. They have a very high turnover of staff which is understandable considering the management I’ve observed.

I only shopped here because of the convenient location and good prices but recently decided to go out of my way and pay more elsewhere.

A recent experience of being overcharged and then arguing with a staff member was the deciding factor. Also when I order cases of food they only call to inform me of its arrival about half of the time.

This is a cool store, that supplies what I'm looking for, parking maybe a factor, there is a parkade near by that you can goto, free parking for 45 min with a ticket I think.

I was sad that they don't have actual pets there, not the fuzzbutt lind anyways, BUT staff is knowledgable and the array of foods and toys and necessities is nice!

Great pet store in Vancouver. Customer service was excellent I was greated as I entered and the manager connected me to a staff member that helped me right thru the process. Good selection of tropical fish and a pleasure shopping there. This location is highly recommended

Most people that work here are nice, with the exception of one very disgusting person behind the desk, she was basically trying to shame me for asking for a plastic bag, she was actually trying to refuse me service by acting extremely belligerent to me, trying to act as if there were no plastic bags anymore. I almost had to get a refund AND MY PET BIRD WAS OUT OF FOOD AND WOULD HAVE STARVED.

She was acting as if I was some kind of bigot, meanwhile trying to peddle some stupid green bag on me that I would have to re-use 1000 times for it to be good for the environment. (I live next to a recycle depot and I recycle my plastic ffs.)

But hey, It's not like she would have had to carry a clumsy 3kg bag of bird food that has no handles for 10 blocks, it's not her bird right? So why should she care about my problems as a customer. (even if she's trying to create them)
